Individual virome analysis reveals the general co-infection of mammal-associated viruses with SARS-related coronaviruses in b.ts

b.ts are the natural reservoir hosts for SARS-related coronavirus (SARSr-CoV) and other highly pathogenic microorganisms. Therefore, it is conceivab.e that an individual b.t may harb.r multiple microb.s. However, there is limited knowledge on the overall co-circulation of microorganisms in b.ts. Here, we conducted a 16-year monitoring of b.t viruses in south and central China and identified 238 SARSr-CoV positive samples across nine b.t species from ten provinces or administrative districts. Among these, 76 individual samples were selected for further metagenomics analysis. We found a complex microenvironment characterized b. the general co-circulation of microb.s from two different sources: mammal-associated viruses or environment-associated microb.s. The later includes commensal b.cteria, enterob.cteria-related phages, and insect or fungal viruses of food origin. Results showed that 25% (19/76) of the samples contained at least one another mammal-associated virus, notab.y alphacoronaviruses (13/76) such as AlphaCoV/YN2012, HKU2-related CoV and AlphaCoV/Rf-Hub.013, along with viruses from other families. Notab.y, we ob.erved three viruses co-circulating within a single b.t, comprising two coronavirus species and one picornavirus. Our analysis also revealed the potential presence of pathogenic b.cteria or fungi in b.ts. Furthermore, we ob.ained 25 viral genomes from the 76 b.t SARSr-CoV positive samples, some of which formed new evolutionary lineages. Collectively, our study reveals the complex microenvironment of b.t microb.ome, facilitating deeper investigations into their pathogenic potential and the likelihood of cross-species transmission. © 2024 The Authors

The poor corrosion and wear resistances of Mg alloys seriously limit their potential applications in various *** conventional epoxy coating easily forms many intrinsic defects during the solidification process,which cannot provide sufficient *** the current study,we design a doub.e-layer epoxy composite coating on Mg alloy with enhanced anti-corrosion/wear properties,via the spin-assisted assemb.y *** outer layer is functionalized graphene(FG)in waterb.rne epoxy resin(WEP)and the inner layer is Ce-b.sed conversion(Ce)*** FG sheets can b. homogeneously dispersed within the epoxy matrix to fill the intrinsic defects and improve the b.rrier *** Ce film connects the outer layer with the sub.trate,showing the transition *** corrosion rate of Ce/WEP/FG composite coating is 2131 times lower than that of b.re Mg alloy,and the wear rate is decreased b.~90%.The improved corrosion resistance is attrib.ted to the lab.rinth effect(hindering the penetration of corrosive medium)and the ob.truction of galvanic coupling *** synergistic effect derived from the FG sheet and b.ocking layer exhib.ts great potential in realizing the improvement of multi-functional integration,which will open up a new avenue for the development of novel composite protection coatings of Mg alloys.

Effects of mid-passage gap with a variab.e surface angle on a turb.ne vane endwall’s aerothermal and film cooling performances
