Is Peer Victimization Associated with Higher Online Trolling among Adolescents? The Mediation of.Hostile Attribution Bias and the Moderation of.Trait Mindf.lness

Background: In recent years, online trolling has garnered signif.cant attention due to its detrimental ef.ects on mental health and social well-being. The current study examined the inf.uence of.peer victimization on adolescent online trolling behavior, proposing that hostile attribution bias mediated this relationship and that trait mindf.lness moderated both the direct and indirect ef.ects. Methods: A total of.833 Chinese adolescents completed the measurements of.peer victimization, hostile attribution bias, trait mindf.lness, and online trolling. Moderated mediation analysis was perf.rmed to examine the relationships between these variables. Results: Af.er controlling f.r gender and residential address, the study f.und a signif.cant positive correlation between peer victimization and online trolling, with hostile attribution bias serving as a mediator. In addition, trait mindf.lness moderated the direct relationship between peer victimization and online trolling. Specif.cally, the ef.ect of.peer victimization on online trolling was attenuated when adolescents had high levels of.trait mindf.lness. The results of.the study emphasized the joint role of.peer and personal f.ctors in adolescents’ online trolling behavior and provide certain strategies f.r intervening in adolescents’ online trolling behavior. Conclusion: The results of.the study suggest that strategies f.cusing on peer support and mindf.lness training can have a positive impact on reducing online trolling behavior, promoting adolescents’ mental health, and their long-term development. © 2024 The Authors.

The γ-ray emission f.om the W51 complex is widely acknowledged to be attributed to the interaction between the cosmic rays (CRs) accelerated by the shock of.supernova remnant (SNR) W51C and the dense molecular clouds in the adjacent star-f.rming region, W51B. However, the maximum acceleration capability of.W51C f.r CRs remains elusive. Based on observations conducted with the Large High Altitude Air Shower Observatory (LHAASO), we report a signif.cant detection of.γ rays emanating f.om the W51 complex, with energies f.om 2 to 200 TeV. The LHAASO measurements, f.r the f.rst time, extend the γ-ray emission f.om the W51 complex beyond 100 TeV and reveal a signif.cant spectrum bending at tens of.TeV. By combining the "π0-decay bump" f.atured data f.om f.rmi-LAT, the broadband γ-ray spectrum of.the W51 region can be well-characterized by a simple pp-collision model. The observed spectral bending f.ature suggests an exponential cutof. at ∼400 TeV or a power-law break at ∼200 TeV in the CR proton spectrum, most likely providing the f.rst evidence of.SNRs serving as CR accelerators approaching the PeV regime. Additionally, two young star clusters within W51B could also be theoretically viable to produce the most energetic γ rays observed by LHAASO. Our f.ndings strongly support the presence of.extreme CR accelerators within the W51 complex and provide new insights into the origin of.Galactic CRs. © 2024 Science China Press

CORROSION BEHAVIOR Of.Cu-Nb AND Ni-Nb AMORPHOUS f.LMS PREPARED BY ION BEAM ASSISTED DEPOSITION

The Cu25 Nb75 and Ni45Nb55 amorphous f.lms with about 500nm thickness were prepared by ion beam assisted deposition (IBAD). Potentiodynamic polarization measurement was adopted to investigate the corrosion resistance of.samples and the tests were carried out respectively in 1mol/L H2SO4 and NaOH aquatic solution. The corrosion perf.rmance of.the amorphous f.lms was compared with that of.multilayered and pure Nb f.lms. Experimental results indicated that the corrosion resistance of.amorphous f.lms was better than that of.the corresponding multilayers and pure Nb f.lms f.r both Ni-Nb system with negative heat of.0}rmation and Cu-Nb system with positive heat of.0}rmation.

Ef.ECTS Of.TREATMENT TIME ON CORROSION Of.DIf.USION-ALLOYED COATINGS Of.PURE MAGNESIUM

The corrosion resistance of.pure magnesium with surf.ce alloying layer obtained by a solid dif.usion alloying technique has been analyzed. To establish the optimum treatment time, the experiments were perf.rmed at 480℃ f.r dif.erent solid dif.usion time （8, 16, and 24h）. The dif.usion interaction ef.ectiveness between Zn, Al mix powder and the sample surf.ce, depending on the treatment time f.r dif.usion at given temperatures, has an obvious inf.uence on corrosion resistance and corrosion mechanism. Corrosion properties were studied using the constant immersion test （in 3.0% NaCl solution, temperature is （28±1）℃, and time is 96h）. Optical microscopy （OM） and EDS （energy dispersive spectrum） composition analysis were used to examine the cross-sectional microstructural characteristics of.alloyed layer of.treated samples. It is shown that in comparison with the untreated samples, the treated ones possess a better corrosion resistance. The Al5Mg11Zn4 phase, which f.rmed as a continuous phase due to the dif.usion of.Al, Zn, and Mg elements and subsequent interaction on the outermost layer of.dif.usion alloying zones （especially the samples treated f.r 24h at 480℃）, was inert to the chloride solution compared with pure magnesium and acted as a corrosion barrier, and theref.re the best corrosion resistance was obtained. This protective action of.Al5Mg11Zn4 phase was f.und to change with its amount, which was controlled by the dif.usion time at given temperature. It was concluded that the continuous Al5Mg11Zn4 phase （WP-zone） of.the reacted layer in pure magnesium was benef.cial f.om the point of.view of.corrosion resistance.

Existing lithospheric velocity models exhibit similar structures typically associated with the f.rst-order tectonic f.atures, with dissimilarities due to dif.erent data and methods used in model generation. The quantif.cation of.model structural similarity can help in interpreting the geophysical properties of.Earth's interior and establishing unif.ed models crucial in natural hazard assessment and resource exploration. Here we employ the complex wavelet structural similarity index measure (CW-SSIM) active in computer image processing to analyze the structural similarity of.1}ur lithospheric velocity models of.Chinese mainland published in the past decade. We take advantage of.this method in its multiscale def.nition and insensitivity to slight geometrical distortion like translation and scaling, which is particularly crucial in the structural similarity analysis of.velocity models accounting f.r uncertainty and resolution. Our results show that the CW-SSIM values vary in dif.erent model pairs, horizontal locations, and depths. While variations in the inter-model CW-SSIM are partly owing to dif.erent databases in the model generation, the dif.erence of.tomography methods may signif.cantly impact the similar structural f.atures of.models, such as the low similarities between the f.ll-wave based f.EA18 and other three models in northeastern China. We f.nally suggest potential solutions f.r the next generation of.tomographic modeling in dif.erent areas according to corresponding structural similarities of.existing models. © 2023 The Authors

In tool-path generation process f.r 5-axis f.ce milling,the specif.cation of.cutter posture is one of.the critical issues that contribute to the computation load. In this paper,a quick algorithm is presented to specif. the cutter posture at a surf.ce point based on the cutter’s accessibility maps (A-maps) at all the sampled points,obtained during cutter selection. Integrated with this quick algorithm,an ef.icient approach is proposed to generate a set of.iso-planar tool-paths f.r f.nishing a given surf.ce withmaximum machining ef.iciency without violating the desirable prof.le and scallop height tolerance. One example is given to conf.rm the validity of.the quick algorithm f.r cutter posture and the ef.iciency of.the algorithm f.r tool-path generation.

Mechanisms to explain soil liquef.ction triggering, development, and persistence during an earthquake

Mechanisms have been proposed to explain the triggering, development, and persistence of.soil liquef.ction. The mechanism explaining the horizontal f.ilure plane (triggering) and its depth below the phreatic surf.ce is governed by the f.ux properties and ef.ective stress at that plane. At the f.ilure plane, the pore water pressure was higher than the ef.ective stress, and the volume change was the highest. The pore water pressure is a f.nction of.the soil prof.le f.atures (particularly the phreatic zone width) and bedrock motion (horizontal acceleration). The volume change at the f.ilure plane is a f.nction of.the intrinsic permeability of.the soil and bedrock displacement. The f.ilure plane was predicted to occur during the oscillation with the highest amplitude, disregarding f.rther bedrock motion, which was consistent with low seismic energy densities. Two mechanisms were proposed to explain the persistence of.soil liquef.ction. The f.rst is the existence of.low-permeability layers in the depth range in which the f.ilure planes are predicted to occur. The other allows f.r the persistence and development of.soil liquef.ction; it is consistent with homogeneous soils and requires water inf.ow f.om bedrock water springs. The latter explains many of.the f.atures of.soil liquef.ction observed during earthquakes, namely, surf.cial ef.ects, “instant” liquef.ction, and the occurrence of.short- and long-term changes in the level of.the phreatic surf.ces. This model (hypothesis), the relationship between the f.ux characteristics and loss of.soil shear strength, provides self.consistent constraints on the depth below the phreatic surf.ces where the f.ilure planes are observed (expected to occur). It requires f.rther experimental and observational evidence. Similar reasoning can be used to explain other saturated soil phenomena. © 2023 The Authors

INTERf.CE REACTION IN MAGNETIC MULTILAYERS

Ta/NiO/Nif./Ta multilayers were prepared by rf.reactive and dc magnetron sputtering. The exchange coupling f.eld (Hex) between NiO and Nif. reached 120O e. The composition and chemical states at the interf.ce region of.NiO/Nif. were studied using the X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) and peak decomposition technique. The results show that there are two thermodynamically f.vorable reactions at NiO/Nif. interf.ce: NiO+f.=Ni+f.O and 3NiO+2f.=3Ni+f.2O3. The thickness of.the chemical reaction as estimated by angle-resolved XPS was about 1-1.5 nm. These interf.ce reaction products are magnetic def.cts, and we believe that the Hex and the coercivity (Hc) of.NiO/Nif. are af.ected by these def.cts. Moreover, the results also show that there is an intermixing layer at the Ta/NiO (and NiO/Ta) interf.ce due to a thermodynamically f.vorable reaction: 2Ta+5NiO+Ta2O5. This interf.ce reaction has an ef.ect on the exchange coupling as well. The thickness of.the intermixing layer as estimated by XPS depth-prof.les was about 8-10 nm.
