Populus is an important tree genus frequently cultivated for economical ***,the high sensitivity of poplars towards water deficit,drought,and salt accumulation significantly affects plant productivity and limits biomass *** cultivation and abiotic stress conditions have been described to significantly induce the formation of apoplastic barriers(Casparian bands and suberin lamellae)in roots of different monocotyledonous crop ***,this study aimed to investigate to which degree the roots of the dicotyledonous gray poplar(Populus×canescens)react to a set of selected cultivation conditions(hydroponics,aeroponics,or soil)and abiotic stress treatments(abscisic acid,oxygen deficiency)because a differing stress response could potentially help in explaining the observed higher stress *** apoplastic barriers of poplar roots cultivated in different environments were analyzed by means of histochemistry and gas chromatography and compared to the available literature on monocotyledonous crop ***,dicotyledonous poplar roots showed only a remarkably low induction or enhancement of apoplastic barriers in response to the different cultivation conditions and abiotic stress *** genetic optimization(e.g.,overexpression of biosynthesis key genes)of the apoplastic barrier development in poplar roots might result in more stress-tolerant cultivars in the future.

AIM To evaluate sex differences and the effects of oestrogen administration in rat gastric mucosal *** Sex differences in gastric mucus thickness and accumulation rate, absolute gastric mucosal blood flow using microspheres, the integrity of the gastric mucosal epithelium in response to a chemical irritant and the effects of oestrogen administration on relative gastric mucosal blood flow in an acute setting was assessed in an in vivo rat experimental model. Subsequently, sex differences in the distribution of oestrogen receptors and calcitonin gene related peptide in the gastric mucosa of animals exposed to oestrogen in the above experiments was evaluated using *** The absolute blood flow in the GI-tract was generally higher in males, but only significantly different in the corpus part of the stomach (1.12 ± 0.12 m L/min·g in males and 0.51 ± 0.03 m L/min·g in females) (P = 0.002). After removal of the loosely adherent mucus layer the thickness of the firmly adherent mucus layer in males and females was 79 ± 1 μm and 80 ± 3 μm respectively. After 60 min the mucus thickness increased to 113 ± 3 μm in males and 121 ± 3 μm in females with no statistically significant difference seen between the sexes. Following oestrogen administration(0.1 followed by 1 μg/kg·min), mean blood flow in the gastric mucosa decreased by 31% [68 ± 13 perfusion units (PFU)] in males which was significantly different compared to baseline(P = 0.02). In females however, mean blood flow remained largely unchanged with a 4% (5 ± 33 PFU) reduction. The permeability of the gastric mucosa increased to a higher level in females than in males (P = 0.01) after taurocholate challenge. However, the calculated mean clearance increase did not significantly differ between the sexes [0.1 ± 0.04 to 1.1 ± 0.1 m L/min·100 g in males and 0.4 ± 0.3 to 2.1 ± 0.3 m L/min·100 g in females(P = 0.065)]. The increased velocity for the inner moon Phobos at Mars is calculated, assuming a modified gravity law with distributed mass. The motion of the moon is assumed to be balanced by the ＂close-force＂. The results from Stroberg, for planets in noncircular orbits, in conjunction with assuming a density, admit a balance equation for the rotation in a continuum flow. From this, explicit expressions for a velocity field and a so called Le-density are given. These are exploited to model distributed mass and formations, exemplified with a large asteroid, 2 Pallas, in the asteroid belt, bounds for the L-frequency, the formation of Mercury and distances between planets.

BACKGROUND Enteropathy-associated T cell lymphoma(EATL)is an aggressive intestinal T cell lymphoma derived from intraepithelial lymphocytes,which occurs in individuals with celiac disease(CD).Cerebral involvement is an extremely rare condition and as described so far,lymphoma lesions may present as parenchymal predominantly supratentorial or leptomeningeal *** describe a case of EATL with multifocal supra-and infratentorial brain involvement in a patient with refractory celiac disease(RCD).CASE SUMMARY A 58-years old man with known CD developed ulcerative jejunitis and was diagnosed with RCD type *** months later he presented with subacute cerebellar symptoms(gait ataxia,double vision,dizziness).Cranial magnetic resonance imaging(MRI)revealed multifocal T2 hyperintense supra-and infratentorial *** studies of blood and cerebrospinal fluid were inconspicuous for infectious,inflammatory or autoimmune diseases.18Ffluorodeoxyglucose-positron emission tomography/computed tomography(18FDG-PET/CT)scan showed a suspect hypermetabolic lesion in the left upper abdomen and consequent surgical jejunal resection revealed the diagnosis of *** the diagnostic work-up,neurological symptoms aggravated and evolved refractory to high-dosage *** MRI scans showed progressive cerebral lesions,highly suspicious for lymphoma and methotrexate chemotherapy was ***,clinically the patient responded only ***,cerebral biopsy confirmed the diagnosis of cerebral involvement of *** the poor prognosis and deterioration of the performance status,best supportive care was *** patient passed away three weeks after *** EATL with cerebral involvement must be considered as a possible differential diagnosis in patients with known RCD presenting with neurological symptoms.
