Evolution of nonmetallic inclusions in 80-t 9crMocoB large-scale ingots during electroslag remelting process

In combination with theoret.cal calculations,experiments were conducted to investigate the evolution behavior of nonmetallic inclusions(NMIs)during the manufacture of large-scale heat-resistant steel ingots using 9crMocoB heat-resistant steel and caF_(2)–caO–Al_(2)O_(3)–SiO_(2)–B_(2)O_(3)electroslag remelting(ESR)-type slag in an 80-t industrial ESR *** main types of NMI in the consumable electrode comprised pure alumina,a multiphase oxide consisting of an Al_(2)O_(3)core and liquid caO–Al_(2)O_(3)–SiO_(2)–MnO shell,and M_(23)c_(6)carbides with an MnS *** Al_(2)O_(3)and MnS inclusions had higher precipitation temperatures than the M_(23)c_(6)-type carbide under equilibrium and nonequilibrium solidification ***,inclusions can act as nucleation sites for carbide layer *** ESR process completely removed the liquid caO–Al_(2)O_(3)–SiO_(2)–MnO oxide and MnS inclusion with a carbide shell,and only the Al_(2)O_(3)inclusions and Al_(2)O_(3)core with a carbide shell occupied the remelted *** M_(23)c_(6)-type carbides in steel were determined as cr_(23)c_(6)based on the analysis of transmission electron microscopy *** substitution of cr with W,Fe,or/and Mo in the cr_(23)c_(6)latt.ce caused slight.changes in the latt.ce parameter of the cr_(23)c_(6)***,cr_(21.34)Fe_(1.66)c_(6),(cr_(19)W_(4)c_(6),cr_(18.4)Mo_(4.6)c_(6),and cr_(16)Fe_(5)Mo_(2)c_(6)can match the fraction pattern of cr_(23)c_(6)*** Al_(2)O_(3)inclusions in the remelted ingot formed due to the reduction of caO,SiO_(2),and MnO components in the liquid *** increased Al content in liquid steel or the higher supersaturation degree of Al_(2)O_(3)precipitation in the remelted ingot than that in the electrode can be attributed to the evaporation of caF_(2)and the increase in caO content in the ESR-type slag.

A cFD Model to Evaluate Near-Surface Oil Spill from a Broken Loading Pipe in Shallow coastal Waters

Oil spills continue to generate various issues and concerns regarding their effect and behavior in the marine environment,owing to the related potential for detrimental environmental,economic and social *** is essential to have a solid understanding of the ways in which oil interacts with the water and the coastal ecosystems that are located *** study proposes a simplified model for predicting the plume-like transport behavior of heavy Bunker c fuel oil discharging downward from an acutely-angled broken pipeline located on the water *** results show that the spill overall profile is art.culated in three major flow *** first,is the source field,i.e.,a region near the origin of the initial jet,followed by the intermediate or transport field,namely,the region where the jet oil flow transitions into an underwater oil plume flow and starts to move horizontally,and finally,the far-field,where the oil re-surface and spreads onto the shore at a significant distance from the spill *** behavior of the oil in the intermediate field is investigated using a simplified injection-type oil spill model capable of mimicking the undersea trapping and lateral migration of an oil plume originating from a negatively buoyant jet spill.A rectangular domain with proper boundary conditions is used to implement the *** Projection approach is used to discretize a modified version of the Navier-Stokes equations in two dimensions.A benchmark fluid flow issue is used to verify the model and the results indicate a reasonable relationship between specific gravity and depth as well as agreement with the aerial data and a vert.cal temperature profile plot.

Real-world utility of serological tests in patients with suspected scrub typhus in the Republic of Korea:A single-center,retrospective,observational study

Objective:Serological tests are widely used for scrub typhus diagnosis;however,their limitations are *** study aims to assess their pract.cal value in clinical ***:We analyzed the data of adult patients with suspected scrub typhus who visited a tertiary care hospital in the Republic of Korea from September to December from 2019 to *** included patients had an acute fever and at least one of the following ten secondary findings:myalgia,skin rash,eschar,headache,thrombocytopenia,increased liver enzyme levels,lymphadenopathy,hepatomegaly,splenomegaly,and pleural *** diagnoses were grouped as scrub typhus or other diseases by two infectious disease ***:Among 136 patients who met the eligibility criteria,109 had scrub typhus and 27 had different *** and paired total antibodies using immunofluorescence assay(IFA),and total antibodies using immunochromatography-based rapid diagnost.c testing(Ict)were measured in 98%,22%,and 75%of all patients,*** using paired samples for scrub typhus was established at a median of 11[interquartile range(IQR)10-16]days following the first *** the 82 admitted patients,the median admission time was 9(IQR 7-13)*** to IFA,58(55%)patients with scrub typhus had total immunoglobulin titers≥1:320,while 23(85%)patients with other disease had titersct results were observed in 64(74%)patients with scrub typhus and 10(67%)patients with other diseases showed negative Ict ***:Serological testing for scrub typhus is currently insufficient for decision-making in clinical pract.ce.

this study investigates the influence of caO(0.5,1(wt.%))alloying on the microstructural evolution,texture development and deformation behavior of AZ61 magnesium *** uniaxial tension tests at room(Rt)and cryogenic(ct,-150℃)temperature were performed to investigate the twinability and dislocation behavior and its consequent effect on flow stress,ductility and strain hardening *** results showed that the AZ61-1caO exhibited superior strength/ductility synergy at Rt with a yield strength(YS)of 223 MPa and a ductility of 23% as compared to AZ61(178 MPa,18.5%)and AZ61-0.5caO(198 MPa,21%).Similar trend was witnessed for all the samples during ct deformation,where increase in the YS and decrease in ductility were *** Mtex tools based in-grain misorientation axis(IGMA)analysis of Rt deformed samples revealed the higher activities of prismat.c slip in AZ61-caO,which led to superior ***,subsequent EBSD analysis of ct deformed samples showed the increased fraction of fine{10-12}tension twins and nucleation of multiple{10-12}twin variants caused by higher local stress concentration at the grain boundaries,which imposed the strengthening by twin-twin ***,the detailed investigations on strengthening contributors showed that the dislocation strengthening has the highest.contribution towards strength in all samples.

St.chast.c weather generators create time series that reproduce key weather dynamics present in long-term *** dataset detailed herein is a large-scale gridded parameterization for cLImate GENerator(cLIGEN)that fills spatial gaps in the coverage of existing regional cLIGEN parameterizations,thereby obtaining near-global availability of combined *** dataset primarily covers countries north of 40°latitude with 0.25°spatial *** cLIGEN parameters were estimated based on 20-year records from four popular global climate *** parameters were statist.cally downscaled to estimate point-scale values,while point-scale temperature and solar radiation parameters were approximated by direct.calculation from high-resolution *** parameter values were used in some cases,such as with wind ***-validation was done to assess the downscaling approach for six precipitation parameters using known point-scale values from ground-based cLIGEN *** parameter values were derived from daily accumulation records at 7,281 stations and high temporal resolution records at 609 *** sensitive parameters,monthly average storm accumulation and maximum 30-minute intensity,were shown have RMSE values of 1.48 mm and 4.67 mm hr^(−1),*** precipitation and the annual number of days with precipitation occurrence were both within 5%of ground-based parameterizations,effectively improving climate data availability.
