Texture development and grain boundary phase formation in Ce-and Ce-La-substituted Nd-Fe-B magnets during hot-deformation process

In this study,the influence of Ce-and Ce-La-substitution for Nd in Nd-Fe-B magnets on their magnetic and microstructural changes in the course of the hot-deformation process was investigated to gain insight into further reducing the Nd content in fine-grained Nd-Fe-B hot-deformed *** found that the[001]texture and microstructure of the RE-rich grain boundary phases,which are the factors that de-termine the remanence and coercivity of hot-deformed magnets,were deteriorated by the Ce-and *** is because the volume fraction of the RE-rich liquid formed in the grain boundaries during the hot-press and hot-deformation decreased due to the Ce-and Ce-La-substitution,thereby in-creasing the friction between the 2:14:1 grains while the c-axes of grains were aligned by grain rotation and decreasing the RE concentration of grain boundary *** particular,the Ce-La-co-substitution further prevented the liquid formation within the grain boundaries of the magnets during hot-press and hot-deformation because the wettability of the RE-rich liquid on the 2:14:1 grains became poor when La was substituted for Nd in the 2:14:1 *** results indicate that there is room for further im-provement in both the remanence and coercivity of the Ce-and Ce-La-substituted magnets by intro-ducing additional liquid into the grain boundaries prior to hot-press and *** applying the Nd-Cu infiltration process to the melt-spun ribbons(intermediate infiltration,I-infiltration),both the remanence and coercivity of the Nd-saving(Nd 0.7 Ce 0.3)-Fe-B and(Nd 0.7 Ce 0.225 La 0.075)-Fe-B hot-deformed magnets were successfully improved.

Delayed-onset endophthalmitis associated with Achromobacter species developed in acute form several months after cataract surgery:Three case reports

BACKGROUND Achromobacter species-associated endophthalmitis is rare and may present as either acute or chronic postoperative ***-onset Achromobacter species endophthalmitis appearing in acute presentation that develops more than several months after cataract surgery is very *** lens(IOL)removal is commonly recommended to treat Achromobacter species endophthalmitis,which is based on previous ***,we report the results of surgery without IOL removal when treating patients with delayed-onset postoperative Achromobacter species endophthalmitis that developed in an acute *** SUMMARY Three patients visited our ophthalmology clinic due to visual impairment that began 2-3 d *** had undergone cataract surgery 5-18 mo *** visual acuity of the diseased eye was between counting fingers at 30 cm to non-light *** showed conjunctival injection,inflammation in the anterior chamber(cell reaction 4+)and hypopyon *** patients were diagnosed with infectious endophthalmitis and immediately underwent pars plana vitrectomy,anterior chamber irrigation and intravitreal injection of ceftazidime and *** fluid infusion,a vitreous specimen was obtained. In all cases, the IOLs were not removed. Achromobacter species was detected on vitreousspecimen culture. After surgery, the vitreous opacity decreased gradually and there was littleretinal damage. At 1 mo after treatment, the best-corrected visual acuity had improved to 20/50and 20/*** onset postoperative endophthalmitis caused by Achromobacter species can appear in anacute form. All patients responded well to early vitrectomy and administration of empiricalantibiotics including ceftazidime. There was no need for IOL removal during surgery.

The below-cloud aerosol scavenging process by precipitation is one of the most important mechanisms to remove aerosols from the *** to its complexity and dependence on both aerosol and raindrop sizes,wet scavenging process has been poorly treated,especially during the removal of fine *** makes the numerical simulation of below-cloud scavenging in large-scale aerosolmodels *** consider the slip effects of submicron particles,a simplified expression for the diffusion scavenging was developed by approximating the Cunningham slip correction *** derived analytic solution was parameterized as a simple power function of rain intensity under the assumption of the lognormal size distribution of *** resultant approximated expression was compared to the observed data and the results of previous studies including a 3D atmospheric chemical transport model *** with the default GEOS-Chem coefficient of 0.00106R0.61 and the observation-based coefficient of 0.0144R0.9268,the coefficient of a and b in∧m=aRb spread in the range of 0.0002-0.1959 for a and 0.3261-0.525 for b over a size distribution of GSD of 1.3–2.5 and a geometric mean diameter of 0.01-2.5μ***,this study showed that the scavenging coefficient varies widely by orders of magnitude according to the size distribution of particles and rain *** study also demonstrated that the obtained simplified expression could consider the theoretical approach of aerosol *** proposed analytic approach showed that results can be effectively applied for reduced computational burden in atmospheric modeling.

Recently,the importance of data analysis has increased significantly due to the rapid data *** particular,vehicle communication data,considered a significant challenge in Intelligent Transportation Systems(ITS),has spatiotemporal characteristics and many missing *** missing values in data lead to the decreased predictive performance of *** missing value imputation models ignore the topology of transportation net-works due to the structural connection of road networks,although physical distances are close in spatiotemporal image ***,the learning process of missing value imputation models requires complete data,but there are limitations in securing complete vehicle communication *** study proposes a missing value imputation model based on adversarial autoencoder using spatiotemporal feature extraction to address these *** proposed method replaces missing values by reflecting spatiotemporal characteristics of transportation data using temporal convolution and spatial *** results show that the proposed model has the lowest error rate of 5.92%,demonstrating excellent predictive *** this,it is possible to solve the data sparsity problem and improve traffic safety by showing superior predictive performance.

Robust color purity of reddish-orange emission from Sm^(3+)-activated La10W22O81 biocompatible microphosphors for solid state lighting and anticancer applications

We synthesized reddish-orange luminescent La_(10)W_(22)O_(81)(LWO):Sm^(3+)microphosphors by hydrothermalassisted solid-state reaction.X-ray diffraction analysis reveals that all the studied phosphors crystallize in an orthorhombic structure in the Pbcn space group(60),Field emission scanning electron microscopy indicates that the LWO:1.5 mol% Sm^(3+)phosphor displays a smooth-surfaced hexagonal rod-like shape,with a closed shape at both ends,and high-resolution transmission electron microscopy demonstrates a robust crystalline *** chemical composition and valence states of the phosphor were investigated using X-ray photoelectron *** 403 nm excitation,LWO:1.5 mol% Sm3+exhibits maximum intensity with the strongest band at 596 nm(^(4)G_(5/2)→^(6)H_(7/2)) in the reddish-orange *** intensity of Sm^(3+) emission decreases beyond 1.5 mol% owing to concentration quenching regulated by dipole-quadrupole interaction between Sm^(3+)*** optimized microphosphor LWO:1.5 mol% Sm^(3+)exhibits color coordinates(0.5760,0.4207),which is close to that of the Amber LED-NSPAR 70 BS(0.570,0.420),displaying the highest color purity of 99.2% and correlated color temperature of 1694 *** addition,both breast cancer cells MCF-7 and normal lung fibroblasts WI-38 were tested for toxicity with the optimized *** is found that the LWO:1.5 Sm^(3+)microphosphor is extremely toxic to cancer cells,but not to normal *** on these results,LWO:Sm^(3+)microphosphor can serve as a biomedical candidate for the treatment of cancer,as well as a potential multicolor emitting material for w-LEDs.

Recently,a number of studies reported that casein was composed of various multifunctional bioactive peptides such as casein phosphopeptide andβ-casochemotide-1 that bind calcium ions and induce macrophage chemotaxis,which is crucial for bone homeostasis and bone fracture repair by cytokines secreted in the *** hypothesized that the effects of the multifunctional biopeptides in casein would contribute to improving bone ***,we designed a tissue engineering platform that consisted of casein and polyvinyl alcohol,which was a physical-crosslinked scaffold(milk-derived protein;MDP),via simple freeze-thaw cycles and performed surface modification using 3,4-dihydroxy-L-phenylalanine(DOPA),a mussel adhesive protein,for immobilizing adhesive proteins and cytokines for recruiting cells in vivo(MDP-DOPA).Both the MDP and MDP-DOPA groups proved indirectly contribution of macrophages migration as RAW 264.7 cells were highly migrated toward materials by contained bioactive *** implanted MDP and MDP-DOPA in a mouse calvarial defect orthotopic model and evaluated whether MDP-DOPA showed much faster mineral deposition and higher bone density than that of the no-treatment and MDP *** MDP-DOPA group showed the accumulation of host M2 macrophages and mesenchymal stem cells(MSCs)around the scaffold,whereas MDP presented mostly M1 macrophages in the early stage.

MicroRNA miR-252-5p regulates the Notch signaling pathway by targeting Rab6 in Drosophila wing development

The Notch signaling pathway plays a central role in the development of various ***,dysregulation of microRNAs(miRNAs),which are crucial regulators of gene expression,can disrupt signaling pathways at all stages of *** Notch signaling is involved in wing development in Drosophila,the mechanism underlying miRNA-based regulation of the Notch signaling pathway is ***,we report that loss of Drosophila miR-252 increases the size of adult wings,whereas the overexpression of miR-252 in specific compartments of larval wing discs leads to patterning defects in the adult *** miR-252 overexpression-induced wing phenotypes were caused by aberrant Notch signaling with intracellular accumulation of the full-length Notch receptor during development,which could be due to defects in intracellular Notch trafficking associated with its recycling to the plasma membrane and autophagy-mediated ***,we identified Rab6 as a direct target of miR-252-5p;Rab6 encodes a small Ras-like GTPase that regulates endosomal trafficking *** with this finding,RNAi-mediated downregulation of Rab6 led to similar defects in both wing patterning and Notch ***,co-overexpression of Rab6 completely rescued the wing phenotype associated with miR-252 overexpression,further supporting that Rab6 is a biologically relevant target of miR-252-5p in the context of wing ***,our data indicate that the miR-252-5p-Rab6 regulatory axis is involved in Drosophila wing development by controlling the Notch signaling pathway.
