Treatment patterns and survival outcomes in patients with nonmetastatic early-onset pancreatic cancer

BACKGROUND The incidence of patients with early-onset pancreatic cancer(EOPC;age≤50 years at diagnosis)is on the rise,placing a heavy burden on individuals,families,and society.The role of combination therapy including surgery,radiotherapy,and chemotherapy in non-metastatic EOPC is not well-defined.AIM To investigate the treatment patterns and survival outcomes in patients with non-metastatic EOPC.METHODS A total of 277 patients with non-metastatic EOPC who were treated at our institution between 2017 and 2021 were investigated retrospectively.Overall survival(OS),disease-free survival,and progression-free survival were estimated using the Kaplan-Meier method.Univariate and multivariate analyses with the Cox proportional hazards model were used to identify prognostic factors.RESULTS With a median follow-up time of 34.6 months,the 1-year,2-year,and 3-year OS rates for the entire cohort were 84.3%,51.5%,and 27.6%,respectively.The median OS of patients with localized disease who received surgery alone and adjuvant therapy(AT)were 21.2 months and 28.8 months,respectively(P=0.007).The median OS of patients with locally advanced disease who received radiotherapy-based combination therapy(RCT),surgery after neoadjuvant therapy(NAT),and chemotherapy were 28.5 months,25.6 months,and 14.0 months,respectively(P=0.002).The median OS after regional recurrence were 16.0 months,13.4 months,and 8.9 months in the RCT,chemotherapy,and supportive therapy groups,respectively(P=0.035).Multivariate analysis demonstrated that carbohydrate antigen 19-9 level,pathological grade,T-stage,N-stage,and resection were independent prognostic factors for non-metastatic EOPC.CONCLUSION AT improves postoperative survival in localized patients.Surgery after NAT and RCT are the preferred therapeutic options for patients with locally advanced EOPC.

Dear Editor,The common marmoset(Callithrix jacchus),a small New World monkey species,is considered an ideal non-human primate model for studying the evolution and neural mechanism of vocal behavior due to their rich call repertoire and vocal communication[1-3].Especially,the early vocal development of marmoset monkeys has attracted much attention,because newborn marmosets have been shown to exhibit a vocal development trajectory.Within two months after birth,marmosets'vocalizations undergo dramatic changes from cries to adult-like mature calls,a process that is influenced not only by inner physical maturation but also by parental care and feedback[4].

Visible Light-Induced Collapse of Molecular Microcrystals into Droplets by E-to-Z Photoisomerization and Melting Phase Transition

Harnessing photoresponsive behavior in organic crystals,such as shape and morphology deformation,on multiple scales is intriguing with respect to precise spatiotemporal operation,because dynamic deformations are promising in fabricating future intelligent devices.Here,we synthesized a new photoresponsive molecular crystal composed of dimethyl(E)-2-(3-(naphthalen-1-yl)allylidene)malonate((E)-DNAM)that undergoes E-to-Z photoisomerization accompanied by photoinduced crystal-to-liquid melting phase transition when exposed to visible light.Instead of expanding in bulk polycrystals,single-crystal(E)-DNAM rectangular microplates in an aqueous solution rapidly collapsed into liquid droplets,showing a remarkable drastic reduction in surface area of more than 97%after light illumination.We deduce that the unique microscopic morphology of microplates with high aspect ratios of length-tothickness reaching up to 1000 is mainly responsible for the photoinduced melting leading to drastic collapse.In addition,the cohesive forces of liquid photoproduct facilitate the overall deformations and transformation.We have shown a facile way to achieve the remarkable collapse of molecular crystals into droplets by photochemical reaction and phase transition.

An Analysis of the Fragmentation of Observing Time At the Muztagh-Ata Site

Cloud cover plays a pivotal role in assessing observational conditions for astronomical site-testing.Except for the fraction of observing time,its fragmentation also wields a significant influence on the quality of nighttime sky clarity.In this article,we introduce the functionΓ∈[0,1],designed to comprehensively capture both the fraction of available observing time and its continuity.leveraging in situ measurement data gathered at the Muztagh-Ata site between 2017 and 2021,we showcase the effectiveness of our approach.The statistical result illustrates that the Muztagh-Ata site affords approximately 122 nights that were absolutely clear and 205 very good nights annually,corresponding toΓ≥0.9 andΓ≥0.36 respectively.

Precision and Flexible Bending Control Strategy Based on Analytical Models and Data Models

Forming of various customized bending parts,small batches,as well as numerous types of materials is a new challenges for Industry 4.0,the current control strategies can not meet the precision and flexibility requirement,expected control strategy of bending processes need to not only resist unknown interferences of process condition and models,but also produce various new parts automatically and efficiently.In this paper,a precision and flexible bending control strategy based on analytical models and data models is proposed to build adaptive bending systems.New analytical prediction models for loading and unloading are established and suitable for various materials,a sequential identification strategy is proposed to search nominal properties using the four sub-optimization models.A data-based feedback model is established to prevent over-bending and eliminate online deviation.Above models are merged into a precision and flexible control strategy.The system firstly uses sub-optimization models to search the nominal point which is near to target point,secondly the system further uses feedback model to eliminate residual error between the nominal point and target point.Compared with four kinds sheet metals,the allowable ranges for variables are determined for a good convergence.The target bending angles were set to 20°,40°,and 60°.Forty parts were tracked for each kind material,the adaptive bending system converged after one iteration,and exhibited better performances.

Remote entangling gate between a quantum dot spin and a transmon qubit mediated by microwave photons

Spin qubits and superconducting qubits are promising candidates for realizing solid-state quantum information processors.Designing a hybrid architecture that combines the advantages of different qubits on the same chip is a highly desirable but challenging goal.Here we propose a hybrid architecture that utilizes a high-impedance SQUID array resonator as a quantum bus,thereby coherently coupling different solid-state qubits.We employ a resonant exchange spin qubit hosted in a triple quantum dot and a superconducting transmon qubit.Since this hybrid system is highly tunable,it can operate in a dispersive regime,where the interaction between the different qubits is mediated by virtual photons.By utilizing such interactions,entangling gate operations between different qubits can be realized in a short time of 30 ns with a fidelity of up to 96.5%under realistic parameter conditions.Further utilizing this interaction,remote entangled state between different qubits can be prepared and is robust to perturbations of various parameters.These results pave the way for exploring efficient fault-tolerant quantum computation on hybrid quantum architecture platforms.

总结中国近20年来近海及西北太平洋区域海洋气溶胶中铁的研究进展.从铁排放清单的角度,介绍从沙尘铁清单到人为源铁清单建立的历程,包括总铁和可溶性铁;总结气溶胶中铁浓度的测量方法和来源解析技术的最新进展,强调未来海洋总铁和可溶铁在线测量的重要性,在线测量是获得高分辨率海洋气溶胶铁时空分布特征的关键;此外,指出新兴的铁同位素分析技术可实现对气溶胶铁来源的定量解析,同时将铁的在线测量技术与源解析受体模型结合是定量认识铁来源的新路径;最后总结气溶胶铁沉降对海洋生态和气候的影响,气溶胶铁沉降对浮游植物的生长具有明显的促进作用,但铁沉降气候效应的定量评估仍存在较大的不确定性.未来应加强对海洋大气铁观测数据的积累,深入对铁化学相关机制的研究,并及时推动大气与海洋模型的结合.

Prediction of Ground State Configurations and Electrochemical Properties of Li_(3)InCl_(6) Doped with F, Br, and Ga

Compared with conventional solid-state electrolytes, halide solid-state electrolytes have several advantages such as a wider electrochemical window, better compatibility with oxide cathode materials, improved air stability,and easier preparation conditions making them conductive to industrial production. We concentrate on a typical halide solid-state electrolyte, Li_(3)InCl_(6), predict the most stable structure after doping with Br, F, and Ga by using the Alloy Theoretic Automated Toolkit based on first-principles calculations, and verify the accuracy of the prediction model. To investigate the potential of three equivalently doped ground state configurations of Li_(3)InCl_(6) as solid-state electrolytes for all-solid-state lithium-ion batteries, their specific properties such as crystal structure,band gap, convex packing energy, electrochemical stability window, and lithium-ion conductivity are computationally analyzed using first-principles calculations. After a comprehensive evaluation, it is determined that the F-doped ground state configuration Li_(3)InCl_(2.5)F_(3.5) exhibits better thermal stability, wider electrochemical stability window, and better lithium ion conductivity(1.80 m S·cm^(-1) at room temperature). Therefore, Li_(3)InCl_(2.5)F_(3.5) has the potential to be used in the field of all-solid-state lithium-ion batteries as a new type of halide electrolyte.

20世纪以来,艺术史学界对于中国画的光影问题争论不休。作为中国审美文化中的重要范畴,“光影”有其自身的哲学逻辑与实践理路。回溯中国传统哲学审美中的光影意识,光影运用在汉魏之际就已出现,说明光影并未从中国传统艺术实践中脱离,那种认为中国古时对光影认知具有局限性的观点乃是不知之论。在阴阳气论的动态美学观照下,物的影迹难以追踪,中国画家开始有意规避具体物影和光影对立,重在把握光影内在的明暗结构与阴阳义理。氤氲之“气”继而成为物象光影显现的一种妙察方式,光影被抽象为黑白、阴阳与明暗的视觉结构,体现出虚实有无的哲学思辨。在宋元以后的绘画中,光影成为制造古典诗意幻境的契机,也构成了中国传统视觉秩序、哲学思辨与空间想象。

基于核心素养的新课程改革提倡从大概念视角分析教学内容,实现由“知识本位”向“素养本位”的转化。大概念教学以单元教学为基点,在大单元教学背景下,教育评价亟待转变传统纸笔测验的评价,转而推行表现性评价。在高中思想政治课中开展大单元视域下的表现性评价符合素养导向逻辑、知识整合逻辑、评价反馈逻辑;体现以素养本位提升教学整体站位、以评促教推动教学评一体化、由虚到实指向真实情境三个方面的价值意蕴。开展大单元视域下高中思想政治课表现性评价需要从评价目标、表现性任务、评分规则三个方面入手,将表现性评价嵌入课程与教学,充分利用学生素养表现信息促进“教—学—评”一体化发展。
