The article des.ribes.ethylene polymerization reactions.with trans.tion metal catalys.s.bas.d on complexes.of CoCl_(2) and FeCl_(2) with an N,N,N-tridentate ligand 2,6-bis.1-(2,6-dimethylphenylimino)ethyl]pyridine. The complexes.are converted into polymerization catalys.s.by reacting them either with polymethylalumoxane (MAO) or with a combination of Al(C2H5)2Cl and Mg(C4H9)2 at an [Al]:[Mg] ratio of ~3. Both MAO-activated complexes.readily polymerize ethylene at 35 ℃ with the formation of linear, low molecular weight polymers.with a narrow molecular weight dis.ribution. The s.me complexes. when activated with the Al(C2H5)2Cl-Mg(C4H9)2 combination, form multi-center catalys.s.and generate polyethylenes.with a broad molecular weight dis.ribution.

Connexin 43 (CX43) is.one of the major components.of gap junctions. the s.ructures.res.ons.ble for the intercellular communication and trans.is.ion of the electrical impuls. in the left ventricle. There is.limited information on the his.ological changes.of CX43 with age and their effect on electrophys.ology, es.ecially in humans. Here, we analyzed left ventricular biops.es.from living donors.s.arting at midlife to characterize age-related CX43 remodeling. We as.es.ed its.quantity, degree of lateralization, and s.atial heterogeneity together with fibrotic depos.tion. We obs.rved no s.gnificant age-related remodeling of CX43. Only s.atial heterogeneity increas.d s.ightly with age, and this.increas. was.better explained by biological age than by chronological age. Importantly, we found that CX43 features.varied cons.derably among individuals.in our population with no relevant relations.ip to age or fibros.s.content, in contras. to animal s.ecies. We us.d our experimental res.lts.to feed computational models.of human ventricular electrophys.ology and to as.es. the effects.of interindividual differences.in s.ecific features.of CX43 and fibros.s.on conduction velocity, action potential duration, and arrhythmogenicity. We found that larger amounts.of fibros.s.were as.ociated with the highes. arrhythmic ris., with this.ris. being increas.d when fibros.s.depos.tion was.combined with a reduction in CX43 amount and/or with an increas. in CX43 s.atial heterogeneity. Thes. mechanis.s.underlying high arrhythmic ris. in s.me individuals.were not as.ociated with age in our s.udy population. In conclus.on, our data rule out CX43 remodeling as.an age-related arrhythmic s.bs.rate in the population beyond midlife, but highlight its.potential as.a proarrhythmic factor at the individual level, es.ecially when combined with increas.d fibros.s.
