The CASTrIP* process produces a range of high strength Ultra-thin Cast Strip (UCS) products (380-550 MPa) in thicknesses between 0.9 mm and 1.5 mm, which is very challenging to produce via conventional hot and cold rolled processing routes. The twin roll CASTrIP process fully exploits the hardenability and strengthening potential of Nb in a low C-Mn-Nb-V microalloyed steel type. Significant microstructural strengthening from solute Nb was obtained, even at low microalloying levels, as well as modest Mn additions, through enhancing the hardenability and further strengthening was obtained in coated products by exploiting age hardening during processing on a continuous hot dip galvanising line. Atom probe tomography and TEM determined that Nb was retained in solid solution and subsequent age hardening resulted from the formation of Nb and V rich nanosized particles. Age hardening was achieved without loss of ductility producing galvanised strip with an excellent strength-ductility combination (Y.S. >600 MPa, T.E. >10%).

Effect of deposition conditions on the physical properties of Sn_xS_y thin films prepared by the spray pyrolysis technique

Tin sulfide thin films （Snx Sy） with an atomic ratio of y/x = 0.5 have been deposited on a glass substrate by spray pyrolysis. The effects of deposition parameters, such as spray solution rate （r）, substrate temperature （Ts） and film thickness （t）, on the structural, optical, thermo-electrical and photoconductivity related properties of the films have been studied. The precursor solution was prepared by dissolving tin chloride （SnC14, 5H2O） and thiourea in propanol, and SnxSy thin film was prepared with a mole ratio of y/x = 0.5. The prepared films were characterized by X-ray diffraction （XrD）, scanning electron microscopy （SEM） and UV-vis spectroscopy. It is indicated that the XrD patterns of SnxSy films have amorphous and polycrystalline structures and the size of the grains has been changed from 7 to 16 nm. The optical gap of SnxSy thin films is determined to be about 2.41 to 3.08 eV by a plot of the variation of （αhv）2 versus h v related to the change of deposition conditions. The thermoelectric and photo-conductivity measurement results for the films show that these properties are depend considerably on the deposition parameters.

The aim of this work was to investigate the microstructure and mechanical properties of 1vol%-Ni-added yttria-stabilized zirconia (YSZ) toughened alumina composites. First, Ni powders were heterogeneously precipitated in an alumina–zirconia powder mixture suspended in water;the prepared specimens were then pressureless sintered at 1550°C/2 h in a 90vol%Ar/10vol% H2 atmosphere. The structure of phases and microstructure of the composites were characterized by X-ray diffraction and scanning electron microscopy, respectively. Mechanical characterization of the specimens was carried out through Vickers hardness, Vickers indentation toughness, and three-point flexural bending tests. The fine Ni particles were homogeneously dispersed throughout the alumina matrix because of the employed processing method. Furthermore, hardness and toughness values were found to increase by 8% and 50%, respectively, with Ni addition, whereas the relative densities and flexural strength values were found to remain unchanged.

A multispectral camera records image data in various wavelengths across the electromagnetic spectrum to acquire additional information that a conventional camera fails to *** the advent of high-resolution image sensors and color filter technologies,multispectral imagers in the visible wavelengths have become popular with increasing commercial viability in the last ***,multispectral imaging in longwave infrared(LWIr,8-14μm)is still an emerging area due to the limited availability of optical materials,filter technologies,and high-resolution *** from LWIr multispectral cameras can capture emission spectra of objects to extract additional information that a human eye fails to capture and thus have important applications in precision agriculture,forestry,medicine,and object *** this work,we experimentally demonstrate an LWIr multispectral image sensor with three wavelength bands using optical elements made of an aluminum(Al)-based plasmonic filter array sandwiched in germanium(Ge).To realize the multispectral sensor,the filter arrays are then integrated into a three-dimensional(3D)printed wheel stacked on a low-resolution monochrome thermal *** prototype device is calibrated using a blackbody and its thermal output has been enhanced with computer vision *** applying a state-of-theart deep learning method,we have also reconstructed multispectral images to a better spatial ***,our work demonstrates a versatile spectral thermography technique for detecting target signatures in the LWIr range and other advanced spectral analyses.

CO2adsorption on the surface of hydrotalcite-derived mixed oxide catalysts was investigated under low pressure glow discharge plasma in operando conditions via FT-Ir *** catalysts were promoted with various transition metal species(Ce, Fe, La, Zr) to influence their physico-chemical *** and Zr species were successfully incorporated into hydrotalcite brucite *** calcination formed a single phase with Ni(Mg, Al)O mixed oxide, while La and Ce species formed separate *** had a consequence in the distribution of surface basic sites as well as in the affinity to CO produced upon CO2dissociation in *** treatment activated the surface of prepared materials and changed their properties via the generation of strong basic sites associated with low coordinated surface oxygen ***, the CO2adsorption capacity of prepared materials increased after plasma treatment.

Microstructural evolution of infrared vacuum brazed CP-Ti using two Ti-based braze alloys,Ti-15Cu-15Ni and Ti-15Cu-25Ni,has been *** infrared brazed joint consisted of eutectic Ti 2 Cu/Ti 2 Ni intermetallic compounds and Ti-rich *** eutectic Ti 2 Cu/Ti 2 Ni intermetallic compounds disappeared from the joint after being annealed at 900 C for 1 *** contrast,the depletion rate of both Cu and Ni from the braze alloy into CP-Ti substrate at 750 C annealing was greatly decreased as compared with that annealed at 900 *** Ti 2 Cu/Ti 2 Ni phases were observed even if the specimen was annealed at 750 C for 15 *** the Ni content of the Ti-15Cu-25Ni braze alloy is much higher than that of the Ti-15Cu-15Ni alloy,the amount of eutectic Ti 2 Cu/Ti 2 Ni phases in Ti-15Cu-25Ni brazed joint is more than that in Ti-15Ci-15Ni brazed ***,similar microstructural evolution can be obtained from the infrared brazed joint annealed at various temperatures and/or time for both filler metals.

The effect of swelling agent on the physicochemical properties of mesoporous hydroxyapatite particles synthesized by self-assembly process has been investigated. Cetyl trimethylammonium bromide(CTAB) and 1-dodecanethiol were used as soft template and swelling agent respectively. The results of the field emission scanning electron microscopy(FESEM), X-ray diffraction(XrD), simultaneous thermal analysis(STA), Brunauer-Emmett-Teller(BET) surface area, small-angle X-ray diffraction and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(FTIr)assessments revealed that in the case of low concentration, 1-dodecanethiol performed as swelling agent and caused an increase in the pore size. However, at higher concentrations it led to the formation of microemulsion and foamy structures. The optimum swelling agent: surfactant mass ratio in synthesis of mesoporous hydroxyapatite particles with high pore volume was determined to be around 2.1 in this study.

The hot deformation behavior of a medium-Mn steel was studied in terms of hot compression flow curves in the temperature range of 850–1050 ℃ and strain rates of 0.05–10 *** thermo-mechanical analysis was carried out and suggested that the microstructure during deformation was completely austenite which had high tendency for dynamic recrystallization(DrX).The flow behavior was characterized by significant flow softening at deformation temperatures of 950–1050 ℃ and lower strain rates of 0.05–5 s-1, which was attributed to heating during deformation, DrX and flow instability.A step-by-step calculating procedure for constitutive equations is *** verification of the modified equations indicated that the developed constitutive models could accurately describe the flow softening behavior of studied ***, according to the processing maps and microstructure analysis, it suggested that hot working of medium Mn steel should be carried out at 1050 ℃, and the strain rate of 0.05–10 s-1 resulted in significantly recrystallized microstructures in the in *** flow localization is mainly flow instability mechanism for experimental steel.
