This review article explores the fundamental principles of modern endodontics with a focus on root canal cleaning and *** reviews commonly used endodontic irrigant,namely sodium hypochlorite(NaOCl),herbal extracts,chlorhexidine(CHX),and chelating agents,highlighting their properties,applications,and potential ***,a key antimicrobial agent,demonstrates effectiveness against various microorganisms but poses challenges such as high *** extracts,gaining recognition in endodontics,present an alternative with potential advantages in preserving dentin ***,known for its broad-spectrum antimicrobial activity,is discussed in both liquid and gel formulations,emphasizing its role in reducing smear layer formation and preserving hybrid layer *** agents,specifically ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid and citric acid,play a vital role in removing the smear layer,enhancing dentin permeability,and facilitating the penetration of antimicrobial *** review article underscores the importance of careful application and consideration of each irrigant's properties to ensure safe and effective endodontic *** serves as a valuable guide for clinicians in selecting appropriate irrigants based on specific treatment requirements.

Cells,tissues,and organs are constantly subjected to the action of mechanical forces from the extracellular environment-and the nervous system is no ***-intrinsic properties such as membrane lipid composition,abundance of mechanosensors,and cytoskeletal dynamics make cells more or less likely to sense these *** and extrinsic cues are integrated by cells and this combined information determines the rate and dynamics of membrane protrusion growth or retraction(Yamada and Sixt,2019).Cell protrusions are extensions of the plasma membrane that play crucial roles in diverse contexts such as cell migration and neuronal synapse *** the nervous system,neurons are highly dynamic cells that can change the size and number of their pre-and postsynaptic elements(called synaptic boutons and dendritic spines,respectively),in response to changes in the levels of synaptic activity through a process called *** plasticity is a hallmark of the nervous system and is present throughout our lives,being required for functions like memory formation or the learning of new motor skills(Minegishi et al.,2023;Pillai and Franze,2024).

Genetic Divergence among Progenies Resulting from the Crossing of Groups Coffee Timor Hybrid and Dilla ＆ Alghe

This study aimed to agronomically and morphologically characterize, as well as analyze the genetic divergence of Dilla & Alghe ? Timor hybrid progenies of the coffee germplasm bank of Minas Gerais in Brazil to improve the breeding and management schemes of the hybrids. Forty-two morpho-agronomic traits were evaluated and the generalized Mahalanobis distance was used to quantify the genetic divergence among progenies. Tocher clustering, unweighted pair-group method using arithmetic averages (UPGMA) method and canonical variation analysis were employed as clustering strategies. The Tocher and UPGMA methods have been separated the progenies into eight and five groups, respectively. Analysis of the relative contribution of each characteristic to genetic dissimilarity highlighted the characteristics of production in liters in 2009, production notes in 2009, and average uniformity of maturation in 2009 as those that contributed most to obtaining genetic divergence. The authors observed that the first three canonical variables accounted for over 99% of the total variance observed in the full set of analyzed characteristics. High variability was observed among the 15 progenies of Dilla & Alghe ? Timor hybrid progenies. The progenies MG0589 and MG0592, MG0593 and MG0589, MG0591 and MG0589, MG0589 and MG0588, MG0589 and MG0583 were the most suitable crosses for exploring the genetic variability in Dilla & Alghe ? Timor hybrid generated from the germplasm bank of Minas Gerais. Through these crossovers, it is expected to get new coffee cultivars with desirable agronomic characteristics, as resistant to Pseudomonas syringae pv. garcae and some breeds of Hemileia vastatrix.

Analysis of the Risks of development Injury Related to Surgical Positioning in a University Hospital of the State of Goiás/Brazil: An Observational-Epidemiological Study

Introduction: The perioperative nurse plays an important role throughout the surgical period, especially in the context of predicting the risks to which patients are exposed when entering a surgical center. These can be skin, muscle, tendon, and even burn injuries from the scalpel or chemicals. Objective: The aim of this study was to verify the degree of risk for the development of injuries resulting from surgical positioning in patients of a university hospital. Methods: This is cross-sectional, exploratory research with a quantitative approach conducted with 70 surgical patients in a Municipal University Hospital with data collection through a socioeconomic and health questionnaire and the Risk Assessment Scale for development of Surgical Positioning Injuries (SISP). Statistical analyses included simple descriptive evaluation, correlations of variables using the Chi-square test and Pearson’s coefficient with a significance level of 5%. Results: The results found pointed to a population mainly composed of women (60%), married, with an average age of 49 years, with hypertension and high-risk scores to develop injuries due to surgical positioning. There was also a positive and significant correlation between having hypertension and having a higher risk of developing lesions, with R2 = 96.4% and p Conclusion: The results reinforce the need to implement protocols and the acquisition of materials aimed at reducing the risk of injuries related to surgical positioning in order to improve the quality of care offered and thus minimize the harm to users.

Morphology of the Digestive Apparatus in <i>Oligoryzomys nigripes</i>(Rodentia, Sigmodontinae)

Although the Genus Oryzomys is widely distributed in the Americas, there are very few published data on the morphology of this rodent group. Notably, in relation to the digestive apparatus, the data are sparse and fragmented. In addition, because rodents are important animal models, this information may be useful in recent and promising areas for applied studies, such as clinical, therapeutic, and surgical models. Here, we describe the morphological characteristics of the digestive system in Oligoryzomys nigripes using gross morphology and light and scanning electron microscopy. In total, five specimens were used. After an incision from the oral to pelvic cavities, all organs of the digestive system were exposed and dissected. Next, all structures from the oral cavity, pharynx, esophagus, stomach, intestines, liver, and pancreas were processed and evaluated by microscopy. The results revealed that the digestive system of O. nigripes consisted of an oral cavity, in which the tongue, minor and major salivary glands, and dental arch were predominant. Behind the oral cavity, the pharynx, esophagus, stomach, intestines, liver, and pancreas were identified and presented typical morphological characteristics of rodents. In conclusion, our results suggest that the morphology of the O. nigripes digestive system differs from the previously described data for other rodent species, mainly due to the absence of the molar teeth and gallbladder in this species.

Background: Unstable atherosclerotic plaques activate blood cells which may adhere to the coronary endothelium causing vessel occlusion. However, it is unknown if different clinical syndromes associated with plaque rupture induce similar blood cell activation and adhesion to the endothelium. Methods: We studied changes in adhesion molecule expression of platelets(GPIIb/IIIa), neutrophils -CD18, CD11b and L-selectin -and monocytes(CD14) after interaction with active lesions of patients with stable angina subjected to PTCA and patients with unstable angina(UA). Generation of superoxide(SO) radicals from PMNs and PMN sequestration in the coronary circulation were also assessed. Blood samples were collected from the aorta(Ao) and coronary sinus(CS) before and 15 min after PTCA(n=13) and within the first 48 h of UA(n=12). Results: PTCA induced a marked up-regulation of CD18, CD11b, CD14 and GPIIb/IIIa with L-selectin shedding and reduced SO formation, whereas only minor L-selectin down-regulation and decreased SO production indicated activation in UA. However, a significant decrease in neutrophil count in the CS compared to the Ao was only observed in UA. Conclusions: The magnitude of cellular activation depends on the underlying clinical setting and just partially contributes to cell adhesion to the endothelium which might be modulated by different extent of vascular occlusion and shear forces.
