A new approach to optical fiber sensing is proposed and demonstrated that allows for specific measurement even in the presence of strong noise from undesired environmental perturbations.A deep neural network model is trained to statistically learn the relation of the complex optical interference output from a multimode optical fiber(MMF)with respect to a measurand of interest while discriminating the *** technique negates the need to carefully shield against,or compensate for,undesired perturbations,as is often the case for traditional optical fiber *** is achieved entirely in software without any fiber postprocessing fabrication steps or specific packaging required,such as fiber Bragg gratings or specialized *** technique is highly generalizable,whereby the model can be trained to identify any measurand of interest within any noisy environment provided the measurand affects the optical path length of the MMF’s guided *** demonstrate the approach using a sapphire crystal optical fiber for temperature sensing under strong noise induced by mechanical vibrations,showing the power of the technique not only to extract sensing information buried in strong noise but to also enable sensing using traditionally challenging exotic materials.

Objective:To investigate the prevalence and risk factors associated with long COvID symptoms among children and adolescents who have recovered from ***:This study applied a cross-sectional approach within community settings in a southern province of vietnam.A structured questionnaire featuring socio-demographic information and common long COvID symptoms was *** correlation coefficients assessed associations among pairs of long COvID ***,multivariable logistic regression models were performed to investigate the risk factors of long COvID in recovered COvID-19 children and ***:Among 422 participants,39.3%reported long COvID symptoms,with a prevalence of 45.2%(SD=0.5)in children and 22.2%(SD=0.4)in *** symptoms reported were cough 34.6%(SD=0.5),fatigue 20.6%(SD=0.4),shortness of breath 10.9%(SD=0.3),and lack of appetite 6.6%(SD=0.3).Concerning risk factors of long COvID,a higher risk was observed among demographic groups,including girls(OR 1.25,95%CI 1.15-1.37;Pverweight individuals(OR 1.14,95%CI 1.02-1.27;P=0.018,reference:healthy weight),and participants without any COvID-19 vaccination(OR 1.36,95%CI 1.20-1.54;Pve received only one single dose(OR 1.35,95%CI 1.10-1.64;P=0.004)compared to those who have received two ***,patients with a COvID-19 treatment duration exceeding two weeks also had a higher risk of long COvID(OR 1.32,95%CI 1.09-1.60;P=0.003)than those who recovered less than seven ***:The insights from this study provide crucial guidance for predicting the factors associated with the occurrence of long COvID in pediatric patients,contributing to strategic interventions aimed at mitigating the long COvID risks among children and adolescents in vietnam.

A high-sensitivity,large dynamic range refractive index and temperature sensor based on a hybrid fiber interferometer is proposed and *** exposed-core fiber is highly birefringent due to its asymmetric structure and also supports multimode propagation,thus can be used simultaneously as a Mach-Zehnder and Sagnac *** sensor can be used for resolving the problem of trade-off between high sensitivity and large dynamic *** addition,the sensor can potentially be used for achieving simultaneous measurement of temperature and refractive index due to their different sensitivities to these parameters.

Non-alcoholic steatohepatitis(NASH),an advanced form of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease(NAFLD),has emerged as the leading cause of liver failure and related ***,no medication is specifically approved to treat NAFLD or *** we report that oral administration of honey vesiclelike nanoparticles(H-vLNs)to naturally aged mice protects the liver from NASH development.H-vLNs are dominantly taken up by Kupffer cells in the liver and suppress hepatic chronic inflammation and further development of fibrosis and nodule formation in aged *** their reported antiinflammasome function,H-vLNs are found to inhibit the transcriptional activities of C-JUN and nuclear factor-kappa B(NF-κB).MicroRNAs miR5119 and miR5108 and phenolic compound luteolin in H-vLNs are identified in suppressing both the C-JUN and NF-kB ***,oral intake of H-vLNs represents a promising new user-friendly modality to prevent the development of NASH.

In this study,finite element(FE)analysis is utilized to investigate the shear capacity of reinforced concrete(RC)beams strengthened with embedded through-section(ETS)*** of critical variables on the beam shear strength,including the compressive strength of concrete,stiffness ratio between ETS bars and steel stirrups,and use of ETS strengthening system alone,are parametrically investigated.A promising method based on the bond mechanism between ETS strengthening and concrete is then proposed for predicting the shear resistance forces of the strengthened *** expression for the maximum bond stress of the ETS bars to concrete is *** new expression eliminates the difficulty in the search and selection of appropriate bond parameters from adhesion *** results obtained from the FE models and analytical models are validated by comparison with those measured from the ***,the model proposed in this study demonstrates better performance and more accuracy for prediction of the beam shear-carrying capacity than those of existing *** results obtained from this study can also serve researchers and engineers in selection of the proper shear strength models for design of ETS-strengthened RC beams.

This paper develops a discrete-time sliding mode controller with a power rate exponential reaching law approach to enhance the performance of a pneumatic artificial muscle system in both reaching time and chattering *** proposed method dynamically adapts to the variation of the switching function,which is based on an exponential term and a power rate term of the sliding ***,the controlled system can achieve high tracking performance while still obtain chattering-free ***,the effectiveness of the proposed method is validated through multiple experimental tests,focused on a dual pneumatic artificial muscle ***,experimental results show the effectiveness of the proposed approach in this paper.

OBJECTIvE:To evaluate the efficacy of bee venom acupuncture in humeroscapularis(PHS)***:One hundred and twenty patients diagnosed with PHS were assigned into four groups:Bv1(0.01 mg/kg),Bv2(0.005 mg/kg),Bv3(0.0025 mg/kg),and control group(vitamin B1 plus novocain 3%injection)with 15 d of *** outcomes of the study including visual analogue scale(vAS)score andβ-endorphin,inflammatory cytokines including interleukin-10(IL-10),IL-1βand tumor necrosis factorα(TNF-α)and shoulder function score were assessed at baseline,after 10 and 15 d of ***:All four groups reported statistically significant improvement in vAS score,motion range,and shoulder function score(Pv3 group showed significant increase of anti-inflammatory(IL-10)and decrease of pro-inflammatory(IL-1β,TNF-α)cytokines after treatment(Pv3 group presented a significant difference between all outcomes compared to the control and other ***:Bv3 groups showed better recovery including reduced pain,improved motor function and normalized inflammatory cytokines than current therapy used in vietnam and other groups.

OBJECTIvE:To evaluate the effectiveness of cycling in combination with electroacupuncture in treatment of poststroke hemiplegia patients at National Hospital of Acupuncture,***:The study was designed as a single-centre,outcome-assessor-blinded parallel randomised controlled trial with 120 post-stroke hemiplegia patients randomly assigned into two groups:electroacupuncture plus cycling(CT group) and electroacupuncture(AT group).Patients were assessed before and after the treatment(using muscle grading,modified Rankin,Barthel,Orgorozo scores and electromyography).Statistical Man–Whitney U test,and Fisher’s exact tests were used to compare between CT and AT ***:The results reported statistically significant improvement in motor function in patients suffering from hemiplegia following ischemic stroke in both CT and AT *** in CT group experienced a greater improvement compared to those in AT group including better muscle contraction(increased frequency and amplitude of electromyography and increased muscle grading scale);increased recovery(Orgogozo scale),increased independency(Barthel scale) and decreased disability(Modified Rankin scale)(P ves the recovery of post-stroke patients treated with electroacupuncture.

In this work,we investigate a classical pseudomonotone and Lipschitz continuous variational inequality in the setting of Hilbert space,and present a projection-type approximation method for solving this *** method requires only to compute one projection onto the feasible set per iteration and without any linesearch procedure or additional projections as well as does not need to the prior knowledge of the Lipschitz constant and the sequentially weakly continuity of the variational inequality mapping.A strong convergence is established for the proposed method to a solution of a variational inequality problem under certain mild ***,we give some numerical experiments illustrating the performance of the proposed method for variational inequality problems.
