Tailoring precipitation/properties and related mechanisms for a high-strength aluminum alloy plate via low-temperature retrogression and re-aging processes

The retrogression and re-aging(RRA)processes,aimed mainly at tailoring intergranular precipitates,could significantly improve the corrosion resistance(i.e.,stress corrosion cracking resistance)without considerably decreasing the strength,which signifies that an efficient control of the size,distribution and evolution of intergranular and intragranular precipitates becomes critical for the integrated properties of the(mid-)thick high-strength Al alloy *** to RRA process with retrogression at200℃ (T77),this study investigated the impact of a modified RRA process(MT77)with lower retrogression temperatures(155-175℃ )and first-stage under-aging on the properties of a high-strength AA7050 Al alloy,in combination with detailed precipitate *** study showed that the strength/microhardness of the RRA-treated alloys decreased with raising retrogression temperature and/or prolonging retrogression time,along with the increased electrical *** rapid responsiveness of microstructure/property typical of retrogression at 200℃ was obviously postponed or decreased by using MT77 process with longer retrogression time that was more suitable for treating the(mid-)thick *** the other hand,higher retrogression temperature facilitated more intragranularηprecipitates,coarse intergranular precipitates and wide precipitate free zones,which prominently increased the electrical conductivity alongside a considerable strength loss as compared to the MT77-treated *** the preferred MT77 process,the high strength approaching T6 level as well as good corrosion resistance was ***,though a relatively homogeneous through-thickness strength was obtained,some small discrepancies of properties between the central and surface areas of an 86-mm thick 7050 Al alloy plate were observed,possibly related to the quenching *** precipitate evolution and mechanistic connection to the properties were discussed and reviewed for high-strengt

While bi-alkali-metal quantum mixtures have been produced and studied for about a decade, mixtures of alkali-metal and electron spin-singlet atoms are a more recent development [1–3]. Both lithium and strontium come with bosonic and fermionic isotopes, which will enable many possibilities for rich inter-species interaction dominated mixture physics, and facilitate systematic investigations of impurity and disorder related many body quantum models [4]. Progress towards a new experimental setup aimed at realizing degenerate mixtures of lithium and strontium atoms will be presented.

High partial-wave（l ≥ 2） Feshbach resonance in an ultracold mixture of 85 Rb-87 Rb atoms is investigated experimentally aided by a partial-wave insensitive analytic multichannel quantum-defect theory[1]. Two "broad" resonances from coupling between d waves in both the open and closed channels are observed and characterized. One of them shows a fully resolved triplet structure[2] with a splitting ratio well explained by the perturbation to the closed channel due to interatomic spin-spin interaction. These tunable "broad" d-wave resonances, especially the one in the lowest-energy open channel, could find important applications in simulating d-wave coupling dominated many-body systems.

Enhancing force sensing in a squeezed optomechanical system with quantum nondemolition measurement

A theoretical scheme is proposed to enhance the sensitivity of force sensors with quantum nondemolition measurement(QND)in an optomechanical setup assisted by four-tone optical driving and an optical parametric amplifier(OPA).With the help of special drive,the system can be simplified as the typical type of QND for force sensing,so that the backaction noise can be evaded to surpass the standard quantum ***,the added noise can be suppressed owing to the modified optical susceptibility resulting from the *** introducing two oscillators coupling with two charged bodies respectively,the signal can be enhanced with the nonlinearity caused by Coulomb interaction,while the noise presents an exponential ***,considering the homodyne detection effect,the range of system parameters and frequency bands will be *** present investigation may provide a route toward simultaneously evading backaction noise,reducing the mechanical thermal noise,and enhancing the external signal,which can be an alternative design for sensitive devices.

Nonreciprocal generation of Schrodinger cat state induced by topology

The Schrodinger cat state produced differently in two directions is anticipated to be a critical quantum resource in quantum information *** exploring the interplay between quantum nonreciprocity and topology in a one-dimensional microcavity array,we obtain the Schrodinger cat state(a pure quantum state)in a chosen direction at the edge cavity,whereas a classical state in the other *** nonreciprocal generation of the cat state originates from the topologically protected chiralitymode excitation in the nontrivial phase,but in the trivial phase,the nonreciprocal generation of cat state ***,our proposal is switchable by tuning the parameters so that a topological phase transition ***,the obtained cat state has nonreciprocal high fidelity,nonclassicality,and quantum coherence,which are sufficient to be used in various one-way quantum technologies,e.g.,invisible quantum sensing,noise-tolerant quantum computing,and chiral quantum *** work provides a general approach to control quantum nonreciprocities with the topological effect,which substantially broadens the fields of nonreciprocal photonics and topological physics.

Rapid plant immune responses in the appropriate cells are needed for effective defense against *** transcriptome analysis is often used to describe overall immune responses,collection of transcriptome data with sufficient resolution in both space and time is *** reanalyzed public Arabidopsis time-course transcriptome data obtained after low-dose inoculation with a Pseudomonas syringae strain expressing the effector AvrRpt2,which induces effector-triggered immunity in ***-peak time-course patterns are prevalent among thousands of upregulated *** implemented a multicompartment modeling approach to decompose the double-peak pattern into two single-peak patterns for each *** decomposed peaks reveal an“echoing”pattern:the peak times of the first and second peaks correlate well across most upregulated *** demonstrated that the two peaks likely represent responses of two distinct cell populations that respond either cell autonomously or indirectly to ***,the peak decomposition has extracted spatial information from the time-course *** echoing pattern also indicates a conserved transcriptome response with different initiation times between the two cell populations despite different elicitor types.A gene set highly overlapping with the conserved gene set is also upregulated with similar kinetics during pattern-triggered *** of a WRKY network via different entry-point WRKYs can explain the similar but not identical transcriptome responses elicited by different elicitor *** discuss potential benefits of the properties of the WRKY activation network as an immune signaling network in light of pressure from rapidly evolving pathogens.

Plants are continuously exposed to numerous biotic stresses throughout their *** arms race-driven coevolution with pathogens,plants have developed sophisticated immune systems,including pathogen-associated molecular pattern(PAMP)-triggered immunity(PTI)and effector-triggered immunity(ETI).PTI is initiated by the binding of danger signals to extracellular membrane-localized receptors calledpattern recognition receptors(PRRs).PTI triggers responses,including reactive oxygen species(ROS)bursts and the expression of defenseassociated ***,pathogens adapted to PTl secrete virulence proteins,effectors,to aid colonization,and ETl is then triggered by the recognition of these effectors by resistance proteins with a nucleotide-binding domain leucinerich repeat receptor(NlR).To circumvent this immune response,pathogens secrete various effectors into the host intracellular region and induce effector-triggered susceptibility(Zhou and Zhang.,2020).Currently,research on plant immunity has been primarily focused on plasma membrane and cytoplasmlocalized proteins,including oligomeric NlRs,resistosomes,and the secretion mechanisms of cytoplasmic effectors.

Spatial diversion and coordination of flood water for an urban flood control project in Suzhou, China

Suzhou City,located in the Yangtze River Delta in China,is prone to flooding due to a complex combination of natural factors,including its monsoon climate,low elevation,and tidally influenced position,as well as intensive human *** large Encirclement Flood Control Project(lEFCP)was launched to cope with serious floods in the urban *** project changed the spatiotemporal pattern of flood processes and caused spatial diversion of floods from the urban area to the outskirts of the ***,this study developed a distributed flood simulation model in order to understand this transition of flood *** results revealed that the lEFCP effectively protected the urban areas from floods,but the present scheduling schemes resulted in the spatial diversion of floods to the outskirts of the *** rainstorm frequencies of 10.0%to 0.5%,the water level differences between two representative water level stations(Miduqiao(MDQ)and Fengqiao(FQ))located inside and outside the lEFCP area,ranged from 0.75 m to 0.24 m and from 1.80 m to 1.58 m,*** addition,the flood safety margin at MDQ and the duration with the water level exceeding the warning water level at FQ ranged from 0.95 m to 0.43 m and from 4 h to 22 h,*** scheduling schemes for the hydraulic facilities of the lEFCP in extreme precipitation cases were developed ac-cording to food simulations under seven scheduling *** helps to regulate the spatial flood diversion caused by the lEFCP during extreme precipitation.

Effective peroxydisulfate activation by CQDs-MnFe_(2)O_(4)@ZIF-8 catalyst for complementary degradation of bisphenol A by free radicals and non-radical pathways

The present study reported fabrication of novel carbon quantum dots-MnFe_(2)O_(4)@ZIF-8(CQDs-MFO@ZIF-8)by using co-precipitation hydrothermal method for activation of peroxydisulfate(PDS)to degrade bisphenol A(BPA),one of important emerging organic pollutants in water ***-MFO@ZIF-8 served as a highly efficient thermal activated PDS catalyst with high catalytic degradation efficiency,reusability and *** catalyst achieved almost completely removal of 20.0 mg/l BPA within 5.0 min,and the degradation efficiency remained higher than 83%after 5 consecutive *** radicals(^(·)OH,SO_(4)^(·-)and^(·)O_(2)^(-))and non-free radicals((1)O_(2))were generated in the thermal PDS-activation system,in which singlet oxygen((1)O_(2))played a dominant role in the degradation of *** potential toxicity of BPA degradation intermediates was analyzed upon the culture of *** and Chlorella sorokiniana by using Ecological Structure-Activity Relationship Model(ECOSAR)*** catalytic performances of BPA degradation by CQDs-MFO@ZIF-8 were evaluated for treatment of different practical water samples to further verify the feasibility of practical *** study provides proof-in-concept demonstration of new nanomaterials for enhanced catalytic water decontamination.
