Preferences for pre-exposure prophylaxis among U.S. military men who have sex with men:results of an adaptive choice based conjoint analysis study

Background: Pre-exposure prophylaxis(PrEP) prevents human immunodeficiency virus(HIV) infection, but its use remains low among U.S. military men who have sex with men(MSM), likely due to mis-matching with personal preferences. We conducted a study to characterize preferences to PrEP measures within this ***: HIV-negative military MSM were recruited through a closed, lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgendered(lGBT) military social media group. The survey was anonymous, and consisted of five experimentally varied attributes in service delivery: dosing method, provider type, visit location, lab work evaluation location, and dispensing *** importance and part-worth utility scores were generated using hierarchical bayes(HB) estimation, and the randomized first choice model was used to examine participation interest across eight possible PrEP program ***: A total of 429 participants completed the survey. Among the eight scenarios with varying attributes, the most preferred scenario featured a daily tablet, PrEP injection or implant, along with a military provider, smartphone/telehealth visit, and on-base locations for lab evaluation and medication pick-up. The results also emphasized the importance for providers to be familiar with PrEP prescription knowledge, and to provide interactions sensitive to sexual identity and mental ***: A PrEP program consisting of daily tablet is preferred in military healthcare settings is preferred. longacting implants and injections are also desired.

The implications of blockchain-coordinated information sharing within a supply chain: A simulation study

A Photometric Study of Two Contact Binaries: CRTS J025408.1+265957 and CRTS J012111.1+272933

We performed new photometric observations for two contact binaries(i.e., CRTS J025408.1+265957 and CRTS J012111.1+272933), which were observed by the 1.0 m telescope at Xingjiang Astronomical Observatory. From our light curves and several survey data, we derived several sets of photometric solutions. We found that CRTS J025408.1+265957 and CRTS J012111.1+272933 were A-and W-type W UMa, respectively. The results imply that the spot migrates or disappears in the two contact binaries, which were identified by chromospheric activity emissions(e.g., Hαemission) from lAMOST spectra. From the O-C curves, the orbital periods of the two contact binaries may be increasing, which is interpreted by the mass transfer from the less massive component to the more massive one. With mass transferring, the two contact binaries may evolve from the contact configurations to semi-detached ones as predicted by the theory of thermal relaxation oscillation.

In the current work,we demonstrated that the rejuvenation of metallic glasses can be achieved through training theβrelaxation *** the increase in the training frequency,a transition from structural relaxation to rejuvenation can be *** rejuvenation treatment is unexpected due to it occurs at a relatively small cyclic strain of 0.2%.Rejuvenation is beneficial to increase the relaxation enthalpy and promotes the decoupling of theβrelaxation process andαrelaxation process.A cluster ofβrelaxation time curves are formulated to describe any energetic state between ultrastable and ultimately rejuvenated metallic *** addition,rejuvenation expands the distribution ofβrelaxation process,anelastic and viscoplastic components during the deformation process.

The preferential growth and related textural evolution during static recrystallization in a cold-rolled Mg-Zn-Gd alloy

The grain growth process plays an important role in the texture formation in magnesium *** microstructural and micro-textural evolution of a cold-rolled Mg-Zn-Gd alloy during annealing at 350℃for 60-190 min were tracked by quasi-in-situ electron backscatter diffraction *** results show that grain growth takes place gradually with the annealing time ***,the TD-split texture maintains the texture type but alters in three aspects-the increased tilting angle,the decreased pole intensity and the widened distribution of high-intensity *** with their c-axis tilting 45-70°from normal direction show preferential growth which is closely associated with the texture *** original grain size advantage is one of the important factors leading to the growth advantage,some grain boundaries,such as 50-60°[1^(-)21^(-)0],50-60°[2750],60-70°[1^(-)21^(-)0](18b),and 70-80°[1^(-)01^(-)0](10)are also considered to be related to this preferential growth.

Two complete mitogenomes of Ocypodoidea(Decapoda: Brachyura), Cleistostoma dilatatum(Camptandriidae) and Euplax sp.(Macrophthalmidae) and its phylogenetic implications

Complete mitochondrial genomes(mitogenomes) can provide useful information for phylogenetic relationships,gene rearrangement, and molecular evolution. In the present study, two newly sequenced mitogenomes of Ocypodoidea(Cleistostoma dilatatum and Euplax sp.) were reported for the first time, which are 15 444 bp and16 129 bp in length, respectively. Cleistostoma dilatatum is the first species in the family Camptandriidae whose complete mitogenome was sequenced. Each mitogenome contains an entire set of 37 genes and a putative control region, but their gene arrangements are largely different. Tandem duplication and random loss model is proposed to account for their gene arrangements. Comparative genomic analyses of 19 mitogenomes clustering in one branch reveal that 18 of them shared the same gene rearrangement, while that of C. dilatatum mitogenome was consistent with the ancestral gene arrangement of Brachyura. The dN/dS ratio analysis shows that all PCGs are evolving under purifying selection. Phylogenetic analyses show that all Macrophalmidae species cluster together as a group, and then form a sister clade with Camptandriidae. Moreover, the polyphyly of three superfamilies(Ocypodoidea, Eriphioidea, and Grapsoidea) is reconfirmed. These findings help to confirm the phylogenetic position of Camptandriidae, as well as provide new insights into the phylogeny of Brachyura.

Effect of specimen gauge reduction on uniaxial tension properties of reinforcing steel

The Standard Test Methods for Tension Testing of Metallic Materials (ASTM E8) mandates a specimen gauge reduction for obtaining the tensile properties of reinforcing steel bars. The standard outlines the specimen preparation requirements and methods to ensure that test results well represent the material properties. On the other hand, some codes differ regarding the approach to specimen preparation. They do not apply gauging, for both deformed and plain steel bars. Thus, the effect of specimen gauge reduction on the tensile properties of reinforcing steel bars was evaluated, and the interconnection of properties to the layer hardness was analysed. The experiment governed a range of deformed hot-rolled bar sizes, tested in tension using precision instruments. The Rockwell hardness test was implemented layerwise on the specimen’s cross section, and the hardness number (HRC) was measured as a function of the layer distance to the centre. A finite element model was constructed to study the stress concentrations induced by a constant indentation, simulating the HRCs, and to numerically construct the stress–strain relationship of ungauged steel bars based on the core properties and the section HRC relationship. Scanning electron microscopy readings were performed to visually and chemically justify the results. It was shown that the specimen gauge reduction significantly influenced the resulting stress–strain behaviour of the material, and the yield and ultimate strengths were reduced. It was also demonstrated that the hardness response is proportional to the distance to the specimen’s axes. The corresponding yield and ultimate strengths thus increased accordingly, from the inner to the outer layers of the bar. Testing a gauged specimen will therefore result in lower strength than that of an ungauged steel bar.

Synchronous Synthesis and Immobilization of Metal Phthalocyanine for Aerobic Oxidation of Styrene

In this study,the precursor 4-(4-carboxy-phenoxy)phthalonitrile(CPPN)was first bonded onto the silica gel surface modified with poly(glycidyl methacrylate)(PGMA)(PGMA/SiO2)to prepare CPPN-PGMA/SiO2,and metal phthalocyanine(MPc;M=Co,Fe,Cu,Mn)was supported on the PGMA/SiO2 surface to prepare MPc-PGMA/SiO2 by synchronous synthesis and immobilization with phthalonitrile and metal salt in the *** chemical composition and surface morphology were characterized by the Fourier transform infrared(FTIR)spectroscopy,UV-Vis spectroscopy,scanning electron microscopy(SEM),X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS),and thermogravimetry analysis(TGA).The catalytic performance of MPc-PGMA/SiO2 in epoxidation of styrene was also investigated with molecular oxygen acting as the *** results show that MPc-PGMA/SiO2 can efficiently and selectively catalyze molecular oxygen for oxidation of styrene to styrene oxide under mild ***,the catalytic activity differs substantially depending on the central metal,and a highest catalytic activity is achieved by CoPc-PGMA/*** CoPc-PGMA/SiO2 amount and temperature can also affect the catalytic oxidation of styrene,and at normal atmospheric pressure,a maximum conversion rate of styrene(99%)and selectivity of styrene oxide(53%)are obtained using 0.1 g of CoPc-PGMA/SiO2(22.61μmol of CoPc)at 100℃ for 6 ***-PGMA/SiO2 also has excellent reusability,and the conversion rate of styrene is still over 90%after 5 cycles.
