Periodontitis is a chronic inflammatory disease caused by periodontopathic bacteria that affects periodontal support tissues.1 If left untreated,it results in loss of periodontal attachment and alveolar bone *** one-half of adults in the United States older than 30 years have periodontal disease.2 though the disease is initiated by bacterial infection,it activates host defense systems that eventually lead to the degradation of the *** periodontitis,the disease progress involves further production of pro-inflammatory mediators such as cytokines,proteolytic enzymes like matrix metalloproteinases(MMPs),and their inhibitors.

Prediction of the flooding area of the northeastern Caspian Sea from satellite images

Studying the dynamic changes in the coastline of the northeastern Caspian Sea is significant since the level of the Caspian is unstable,and the coastline change can cause enormous damage to the ecology,economy,and population of the coastal part of *** this work,we use remote sensing and Geographic Information System(GIS)technologies to study the changes in the coastline of the northeastern Caspian Sea and predict the extent of flooding with increasing water *** proposed methodology for creating dynamic maps can be used to monitor the coastline and forecast the extent of flooding in the *** a result of this work,the main factors affecting changes in the coastline were *** analyzing the water level data from 1988 to 2019,it was revealed that the rise in water level was observed from 1980 to *** maximum sea level rise was recorded at-26.04 *** that,the sea level began to fall,and between 1996 and 2009,there were no significant changes;the water level fluctuated with an average of-27.18 ***,a map of the water level dynamics in the Caspian Sea from 1988 to 2019 was *** to the dynamics map,water level rise and significant coastal retreat were revealed,especially in the northern part of the Caspian Sea and the northern and southern parts of Sora *** method for predicting the estimated flooding area was *** a result,based on a single map,the flooding area of the northeast coast was predicted.A comparative analysis of landsat and SRtM data is presented.

Numerical analysis of the effects of vesicle distribution characteristics on the engineering properties of volcanic rocks

Vesicles can be of different sizes and shapes and can be randomly distributed within vesicular volcanic rocks. this study investigates the variation of engineering properties of vesicular rocks due to the changes in vesicle distribution characteristics for different cases of bulk porosity and vesicle diameter using a systematic numerical simulation program using the finite element method-based rock failure process analysis (RFPA) software. Models with uniform-size vesicles and combinations of different proportions of different-sized vesicles were considered to resemble natural vesicular rocks more closely, and ten different random vesicle distributions were tested for each case. Increasing bulk porosity decreased the uniaxial compressive strength (UCS) and elastic modulus of the specimens, and the specimens with the lowest bulk porosity showed the greatest range of UCS values in the case of uniform-size vesicles. the effect of vesicle diameter on UCS showed an unsystematic response which was understood to be a result of different vesicle distribution patterns, some of which facilitated a shear failure. Specimens with multiple-size vesicles in different proportions revealed that the variation of UCS due to vesicle distribution characteristics is minimum when the bulk porosity is equally shared by different size vesicles. In addition, when the proportion of smaller-sized vesicles is higher, UCS showed an increase compared to that of the equal proportion of different size vesicles case at low porosities, but a decrease at higher porosities. Variation of elastic modulus showed minor, unsystematic fluctuations as a function of vesicle diameter and different proportions of different-sized vesicles, and the range for different vesicle distribution patterns was narrow in general. Overall, the findings of this study recommend cautious use of the engineering properties determined through a limited number of laboratory tests on vesicular rocks.

Effects of Fresh Cupressus sempervirens leaves Infusion on Growth Performance, Intestinal Microbiota and Haemato-Biochemical Parameters in Broilers

the accumulation of growth-promoting antibiotic residues in animal products and the resistance developed by bacteria in poultry farms has led to a search for natural compounds derived from plants. this study was designed to promote the production performance of broiler chickens using fresh Cupressus sempervirens leaves infusion. Fresh Cupressus sempervirens leaves were harvested, washed, chopped and ground to a paste using a blender and fermented for three days in a closed container at a rate of 500 g/l of water. the solution obtained was filtered and added at the rate of 2, 4, 6, 8 and 10 ml/l of drinking water. the chickens fed on the graded level of the solution were compared to a control ration without an additive and positive control group supplemented with 1 g antibiotic/kg feed. At the finisher phase and throughout the study period, water intake increased significantly (P th increasing levels of infusion. Feed intake decreased significantly (P th 2 and 4 ml of infusion/l drinking water. live weight and weight gain were significantly (P th 6 ml/l, while feed conversion significantly (P th the same treatment compared with the control treatment without additives (t0). Carcass characteristics were not significantly (P > 0.05) affected by the inclusion of Cupressus sempervirens infusion. Haematological parameters significantly (P tly of the rate of incorporation of the infusion into the drinking water, with the exception of RBCs, MCHt and PCt. Serum content in total protein, globulins, lDl cholesterol and triglycerides were significantly (P th 8 and 10 ml Cupressus sempervirens infusion/litre drinking water as compared to all other treatments. ASt, Alt, urea, creatine, albumin, total cholesterol and HDl-cholesterol were not significantly affected. the lactic acid bacteria load increased significantly (P E. coli and salmonella counts decreased significantly (P < 0.05)

当前人类的发展状态被视为是不可持续的,若不进行相应的调整,局势将难以逆转。为实现这一改变,我们亟须调整对本体论及自然的认知方式。首先,我们需要认识到人类本身就是自然的一部分。其次,我们需要修正对历史经验及自然观的理解。实现社会的可持续发展,不能仅依靠科学的论证,而要接纳自然的美学。这是一个感性的认知过程,并无科学的标准可言,需要通过人类自然体验的不断重复来实现。自然对人类的影响深远且意义重大,然而却常被我们忽视。人类接触自然、感受自然的好处众多,可简要概括为:提升人多角度理解世界的能力,从而让我们理解自己在自然中的位置以及与自然的关系。尽管自然危机日益严峻、生物多样性持续降低,当人们采取的行动都收效甚微,便更倾向于接受“事情本就是这样”,而失去了持续行动的意愿。然而,当我们视人类为自然的一部分,通过自然美学的感知,我们可以认识到人类的凝聚力,从而获得行动的动力。这意味着我们要接纳自然本真的面貌,包括其中不尽美观的、不尽宜人的部分,以及由人类农业生产和工业活动所带来的荒废的景观。通过自然的美学感知,我们有机会构建出一个与生物共存的绿色世界。作为风景园林设计师,我们的职责并非创造出一个有固定范式的成品,而更多在于为场地未来不可预测的且不受束缚的发展进程构建一套具有适应性的框架。自然的体验是个性化的、无法估量的,但也是可以与他人共享的,这些体验对于我们个人的福祉和人类的未来都至关重要。

本次研究利用快速淬火高温高压实验装置,在100MPa和650~850℃条件下,开展了锂辉石在简单花岗质熔体中溶解度及其影响因素的高温高压实验。实验结果表明温度是影响锂辉石在简单花岗质熔体中溶解度最为重要的因素,其次为铝饱和指数(ASI),而熔体的Na/K比值对锂辉石的溶解度几乎没有影响。结合已有的数据,建立了锂辉石溶解度与温度、铝饱和指数的关系:logli_(2)O(%)=-0.61×(1000/t)+0.53×ASI+0.10,R^(2)=0.60其中t为绝对温度。该关系式可以用来量化锂辉石的结晶温度或评价花岗伟晶岩的成矿潜力。本次研究结果表明,伟晶岩矿床中锂的成矿潜力受限于初始岩浆中锂的含量和伟晶岩的结晶温度。

We present a comprehensive theoretical study of conventional superconductivity in cubic antiperovskites materials with composition XYZ_(3) where X and Z are metals,and Y is H,B,C,N,O,and *** starting point are electron–phonon calculations for 397 materials performed with density-functional perturbation *** 43%of the materials are dynamically unstable,we discovered 16 compounds close to thermodynamic stability and with t_(c) higher than 5 *** these results to train interpretable machine-learning models,leads us to predict a further 57(thermodynamically unstable)materials with superconducting transition temperatures above 5 K,reaching a maximum of 17.8 K for ***,the models give us an understanding of the mechanism of superconductivity in *** combination of traditional approaches with interpretable machine learning turns out to be a very efficient methodology to study and systematize whole classes of materials and is easily extendable to other families of compounds or physical properties.
