BACKGROUND:Obstructive jaundice is a common condition in advanced digestive *** procedures can improve qual.ty of life and allow patients to attempt a systemic *** anastomosis is still.the procedure of choice for patients in many *** a surgical bypass is not possible,biliary drainage can be done by placing endoscopic or transparietal stents,which are less durable methods even when an expandable stent is employed. MEtHODS:A 47-year-old male with an excellent clinical status and a previous cholecystectomy and an exploratory laparotomy for advanced gastric cancer was referred with obstructive jaundice.A preoperative Ct scan showed a dil.ted bile duct and a small mass at the distal hepatic *** other signs of metastasis were found.A surgical bilioenteric anastomosis was *** surgery,a distal choledochal obstruction and a mesenteric retraction by a lymph node mass prevented the jejunum to ascend for a bilioenteric anastomosis. Surgically,an alternative bilioenteric bypass was performed by means of an ileal loop interposition between the bile duct and the jejunum. RESUlt:the recovery of the patient was uneventful and his bilirubin levels normalized after one *** patient was then referred for systemic chemotherapy. CONClUSiONS:this alternative biliary bypass can be safely and easily performed,and may be a good alternative for patients already referred for surgery because of a better life expectancy and when the jejunum is not an alternative.

Optical fiber optrodes are attractive sensing devices due to their abil.ty to perform point measurement in remote locations. Mostly, they are oriented to biochemical sensing, quite often supported by fluorescent and spectroscopic techniques, but with the refractometric approach considered as well when the objective is of high measurement performance, particularly when the focus is on enhancing the measurand resol.tion. in this work, we address this subject, proposing and analyzing the characteristics of a fiber optic optrode relying on plasmonic interaction. A linearly tapered optical fiber tip is covered by a double overlay： the inner one - a silver thin film and over it - a dielectric layer, with this combination allowing to achieve, at a specific wavelength range, surface plasmonic resonance （SPR） interaction sensitive typically, the interrogation of the SPR sensing to the refractive index of the surrounding medium. structures is performed, considering spectroscopic techniques, but in principle, a far better performance can be obtained, considering the reading of the phase of the light at a specific wavelength located within the spectral plasmonic resonance. this is the approach which is studied here in the context of the proposed optical fiber optrode configuration. the analysis performed shows the combination of a silver inner layer with a dielectric titanium oxide layer with tuned thicknesses enables sensitive phase reading and allows the operation of the fiber optic optrode sensor in the third telecommunication wavelength window.

Objective:in the realm of Class i pathogens,Burkholderia pseudomallei(BP)stands out for its propensity to induce severe *** the intricate interactions between BP and host cells is imperative for comprehending the dynamics of BP infection and discerning biomarkers indicative of the host cell response ***:mRNA extraction from BP-infected mouse macrophages constituted the initial step of our *** gene expression arrays,the extracted RNA underwent conversion into digital *** percentile shift method facil.tated data processing,with the identiﬁcation of genes manifesting signiﬁcant differences accomplished through the application of the ***,a comprehensive analysis involving Gene Ontology enrichment and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes pathway was conducted on the differentially expressed genes(DEGs).leveraging the EStiMAtE algorithm,gene signatures were utilized to compute risk scores for gene expression *** vector machine analysis and gene enrichment scores were instrumental in establishing correl.tions between biomarkers and macrophages,followed by an evaluation of the predictive power of the identiﬁed ***:the functional and pathway associations of the DEGs predominantly centered around G protein-coupled receptors.A noteworthy positive correl.tion emerged between the blue module,consisting of 416 genes,and the ***4,identiﬁed through support vector machine analysis among intersecting genes,indicated a robust interaction with macrophages,suggesting its potential as a robust ***4 exhibited commendable predictive efﬁcacy,with BP infection inducing its expression in both macrophages and mouse lung *** bl.tting in macrophages conﬁrmed a signiﬁcant upregul.tion of FZD4 expression from 0.5 to 24 h *** mouse lung tissue,FZD4 manifested higher expression in the cytoplasm of pulmonary epithelial cells in BP-infected lungs than in the

in this work， a highly sensitive electrochemical sensor based on Zn-doped copper gallium oxide@ordered mesoporous carbon (Zn-CuGaO2@CMK-3) for signal amplification was successfully developed for the simultaneous detection of sunset yellow （SY） and tartrazine （tZ） in foods. Compared with CuGaO2@CMK-3， Zn-CuGaO2@CMK-3 offered enhanced conductivity and catal.tic properties owing to the improved carrier density， which was beneficial.to the electrooxidation of SY and tZ. Under the optimal.testing conditions， the constructed Zn-CuGaO2@CMK-3/GCE sensor offered a wide linear concentration range （0.25 to 100.00 μmol/l） for the detection of both SY and tZ. the limits of detection for SY and tZ were 0.044 μmol/l and 0.059 μmol/l， respectively. Recovery experiments were performed in milk， white vinegar and biscuit samples， yielding satisfactory recoveries （82.70%-114.80%）. Furthermore， the sensor was successfully applied to the determination of the SY and tZ residues in two kinds of carbonated drinks， and the results were nearly consistent with those detected by the high performance liquid chromatography （HPlC） method （P＞0.05）.

Organophosphorus pesticides (OPPs) in foods pose a serious threat to human health， motivating the development of novel anal.tical methods for their rapid detection and quantification. A magnetic covalent organic framework (M-COF) adsorbent for the magnetic solid-phase extraction (MSPE) of OPPs from foods was reported. M-COF was synthesized by the Schiff base condensation reaction of 1，3，5-tris (4-aminophenyl)benzene and 4，4-biphenyldicarboxaldehyde on the surface of amino-functionalized magnetic nanoparticles. Density–functional.theory (DFt) calcul.tions showed that adsorption of OPPs onto the surface of M-COF involved hydrophobic effects， Van der Waals interactions， π–π interactions， halogen-N bonding， and hydrogen bonding. Combined with gas chromatography–mass spectrometry (GC–MS) technology， the MSPE method features low limits of detection for OPPs (0.002–0.015 μg/l)， good reproducibil.ty (1.45%–6.14%)， wide linear detection range (0.01–1 μg/l， R≥ 0.9935)， and satisfactory recoveries (87.3%–110.4%). the method was successfully applied for the trace analysis of OPPs in spiked fruit juices.

the compl.te and incompl.te fusion cross sections for ^(6)li+^(209)Bi were measured using the in-beamγ-ray method around the Coulomb *** cross sections of(deuteron captured)incompl.te fusion(iCF)products were re-quantified experimentally for this reaction *** results reveal.that the iCF cross section is equivalent to that of compl.te fusion(CF)above the Coulomb barrier and dominant near or below the Coulomb barrier.A theoretical calcul.tion based on the continuum discretized coupled channel(CDCC)method was performed for the aforementioned CF and iCF cross sections;the result is consistent with the *** universal fusion function(UFF)was also compared with the measured CF cross section for different barrier parameters,demonstrating that the CF suppression factor is significantly influenced by the choice of potential,which can reflect both dynamic and static effects of breakup on the fusion process.
