Background:It remains unclear if the vascular and connective tissue structures of primary and metastatic tumors are intrinsically determined or whether these characteristics are defined by the host *** we examined the microanatomical steps of vasculature and connective tissue development of C38 colon carcinoma in different ***:Tumors produced in mice at five different locations(the cecal wall,skin,liver,lung,and brain)were ana-lyzed using fluorescent immunohistochemistry,electron microscopy and quantitative real-time polymerase chain ***:We found that in the cecal wall,skin,liver,and lung,resident fibroblasts differentiate into collagenous matrix-producing myofibroblasts at the tumor *** activated fibroblasts together with the produced matrix were incorporated by the *** connective tissue development culminated in the appearance of intratumoral tissue columns(centrally located single microvessels embedded in connective tissue and smooth muscle actin-expressing myofibroblasts surrounded by basement membrane).Conversely,in the brain(which lacks fibroblasts),C38 metasta-ses only induced the development of vascularized desmoplastic tissue columns when the growing tumor reached the fibroblast-containing ***:Our data suggest that the desmoplastic host tissue response is induced by tumor-derived fibrogenic molecules acting on host tissue *** concluded that not only the host tissue characteristics but also the tumor-derived fibrogenic signals determine the vascular and connective tissue structure of tumors.

After a brief, critical review of the leading explanations proposed for the small but important subset of radio galaxies showing an X-shaped morphology （XRGs） we propose a generalized model, based on the jet-shell interaction and spin- flip hypotheses. The most popular scenarios for this intriguing phenomenon invoke either hydrodynamical backflows and over-pressured cocoons or rapid jet reorienta- tions, presumably from the spin-flips of central engines following the mergers of pairs of galaxies, each of which contains a supermassive black hole. We confront these models with a number of key observations, and thus argue that none of the models is capable of explaining the entire range of the salient observational properties of XRGs, although some of the arguments raised in the literature against the spin-flip scenario are probably not tenable. We then propose a new scenario which also involves galac- tic mergers but would allow the spin of the central engine to maintain its direction. Motivated by detailed multi-band observations of the nearest radio galaxy, Centaurus A, this new model emphasizes the role of the interactions between the jets and the shells of stars and gas that form and rotate around the merged galaxy and can cause temporary deflections of the jets, occasionally giving rise to an X-shaped radio struc- ture. Although each model is likely to be relevant to a subset of XRGs, the bulk of the evidence indicates that most of them are best explained by the jet-shell interaction or spin-flip hypotheses.

Rt-pCR Analysis and Evolutionary Relationship of Some Hungarian <i>Grapevine leafroll associated virus</i>1 and 3 Isolates

Hungarian isolates of Grapevine leafroll associated virus 1 and 3 (GlRaV-1, GlRaV-3) were tested using serological (DAS-ElISA) and molecular (RT-pCR) methods. Five hundred bp long pCR products of the part of HSp70 gene of one serologically positive GlRaV-1 and four GlRaV-3 isolates were sequenced. These sequences were applied for phylogenetic analysis and compared to foreign virus isolates of NCBI GenBank. phylogenetic analysis of GlRaV-1 HSp70 gene supported the earlier results that it could be divided into two clusters: E and A. The Hungarian isolate 6.4.1 belonged to the group E. This isolate showed the highest homology with the AY754914 isolate from the Czech Republic. GlRaV-3 sequence data could cluster five groups. Hungarian 2.2;3.5 and 4.2 isolates were estimated belonging to the group II. The 1.4 isolate from the same vineyard as 2.2 varied in sequence data so it belonged to the other, IV. variant group with two South African, two Austrian and a Syrah isolate. According to the phylogenetic analysis, two variant groups occurred in Hungary. These isolates related with each other, but showed higher similarity of foreign counties. In some cases, they were similar to isolates of the neighbour countries such as Slovakia and Austria. It could be supposed that mainly the exchange of virus infected propagation materials caused the dissemination of GlRaV isolates.

Unexpected ecotone dynamics of a sand dune vegetation complex following water table decline

In patients with inflammatory bowel diseases (IBD) the prevalence of thrombosis is 6.2%, the average incidence of thromboembolism (TE) is 3.6 times higher compared to normal population. The TE is a common extraintestinal complication of IBD, squarely associated with the IBD activity. The application of antico-agulant and thrombolytic therapy in severe IBD is an unresolved issue. Herein we report the first case in literature of an active IBD patient with an upper limb acute arterial occlusion and successful catheter-directed thrombolysis (CDT). A 46-year-old male patient is reported who had Crohn's disease for 10 years. His right hand suddenly became cold and painful. Angiography proved acute occlusion of the brachial and radial artery. Vascular surgery intervention was not applicable. Endoscopy showed extended, severe inflammation of the colon. Despite the severe endoscopic findings, frequent bloody stools and moderate anaemia, CDT with recombinant tissue plasminogen activator was performed. The control angiography proved improvement, the radial artery pulse appeared. No bleeding complication was observed. This case supports that CDT-after careful estimation of the bleeding risk-can be effective and safe in patients with severe or life-threatening TE and active IBD.

AIM: To compare the incidence of intraoperative complications during primary phacoemulsification(phaco) surgery between resident surgeons(residents) and staff surgeons(specialists) and to objectively determine the difficulty of stages in phaco surgery. METHODS: This retrospective study included cases of phaco cataract surgery performed between January and December 2019. There were no exclusion criteria. For each patient, demographics, clinical history, case complexity, type of surgeon, and operative details were reviewed. primary outcomes included intraoperative complication rates and the objective measure of difficulty in the steps of the surgery performed by residents and ***: A total of 3272 cases were included;7.4%(n=241) of cases were performed by residents. The overall complication rate was 5.4%(n=177). The intraoperative complication rate was significantly higher(ppecialists(n=144, 4.8%). The most frequent complications were posterior capsule tear(n=85, 2.6%), anterior capsule tear(n=50, 1.53%), zonular fiber loss(n=45, 1.38%), and dropped nucleus(n=15, 0.46%). Objectively, the most difficult steps during surgery were phaco in 66(60.0%), capsulorhexis in 21(19.1%), irrigation/aspiration in 13(11.8%), hydrodissection in 9(8.2%), and intraocular lens(IOl) implantation in 1(0.9%) case. CONClUSION: Intraoperative complication rates are higher in residents than in specialists. The order of objective difficulty in phaco surgery steps is in line with the subjective findings of other surveys, revealing that the most challenging parts of phaco surgery are phaco and capsulorhexis.
