Viscosity and structure relationship with equimolar substitution of CaO with MgO in the CaO–MgO–Al_(2)O_(3)–SiO_(2)slag melts

Currently,the Al_(2)O_(3)content in the high-alumina slag systems within blast furnaces is generally limited to 16wt%–18.5wt%,making it chall.nging to overcome this *** most studies that concentrated on managing the MgO/Al_(2)O_(3)ratio or basicity,this paper explored the effect of equimolar substitution of MgO for CaO on the viscosity and structure of a high-alumina CaO-MgO-Al_(2)O_(3)-SiO_(2)slag system,providing theoretical guidance and data to facilitate the application of high-alumina *** results revealed that the viscosity first decreased and then increased with higher MgO substitution,reaching a minimum at 15mol%MgO *** transform infrared spectroscopy(FTIR)results found that the depths of the troughs representing[SiO_(4)]tetrahedra,[AlO_(4)]tetrahedra,and Si-O-Al bending became progressively deeper with increased MgO *** of the Raman spectra showed that the average number of bridging oxygens per Si atom and the X_(Q^(3))/X_(Q^(2))(X_(Q^(i))is the molar fraction of Q^(i) unit,and i is the number of bridging oxygens in a[SiO_(4)]tetrahedral unit)ratio increased from 2.30 and 1.02 to 2.52 and 2.14,respectively,indicating a progressive polymerization of the silicate structure.X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS)results highlighted that non-bridging oxygen content decreased from 77.97mol% to 63.41mol% with increasing MgO concentration,whereas bridging oxygen and free oxygen contents *** analysis demonstrated a gradual increase in the polymerization degree of the tetrahedral structure with the increase in MgO ***,bond strength is another important factor affecting the slag *** occurrence of a viscosity minimum can be attributed to the complex evolution of bond strengths of non-bridging oxygens generated during depolymerization of the[SiO_(4)]and[AlO_(4)]tetrahedral structures by CaO and MgO.

Dispatchable Capability of Aggregated Electric Vehicle Charging in Distribution Systems

This paper introduces a method for model.ng the entire aggregated electric vehicle(EV)charging process and analyzing its dispatchable *** methodology involves developing a model for aggregated EV charging at the charging station level,estimating its physical dispatchable capability,determining its economic dispatchable capability under economic incentives,model.ng its participation in the grid,and investigating the effects of different scenarios and EV penetration on the aggregated load dispatch and dispatchable *** results indicate that using economic dispatchable capability reduces charging prices by 9.7%compared to physical dispatchable capability and 9.3%compared to disorderly ***,the peak-to-valley difference is reduced by 64.6%when applying economic dispatchable capability with 20%EV penetration and residential base load,compared to disorderly charging.

Controlled cationic ring-opening polymerization of l-lactide by organic ion pair: novel approach to isotactic-rich and crystalline polylactide

living/controlled cationic ring-opening polymerization （ROP） of l-lactide is a promising approach to isotactic-rich and crystalline poly（l-lactide）.In contrast with the unsubstituted lactones,l-lA can not be polymerized by organic lewis acids or carbenium ions,and the state of the art in this field is the cationic ROP of l-lA catalyzed by Br?nsted acid/alcohol system via activated monomer ***,we reported the first example of controlled cationic ROP of l-lA by using Meerweintype ion pair[Me3O]+[B（C6F5）4]-as the catalyst.[Me3O]+[B（C6F5）4]-promoted rapid l-lA cationic polymerization in the absence of alcohol,producing isotactic-rich and crystalline PllA without transesterification and epimerization side *** activated chain end mechanism,involving twice SN2 substitution and configuration-inversion （S→R→S） with the assistance of released Me2O,was proposed and further verified by density functional theory and control *** work expands the catalytic toolbox of isotactic-rich and crystalline polylactide *** represents a unique example of cationic-controlled polymerization of l-lA catalyzed by an organic ion pair.

Nitrous oxide emission by denitrifying phosphorus removal culture using polyhydroxyalkanoates as carbon source

Nitrous oxide （N2O） emission has been reported to be enhanced during denitrification when internally-stored compounds are used as carbon sources. However, negligible N2O emissions have been detected in the few studies where polyhydroxyalkanoates （PHA） were specifically used. This study investigated and compared the potential enhancement of N2O production, based on utilization of an internally-stored polymer and external carbon （acetate） by a denitrifying phosphorus removal culture. Results indicated that at relatively low chemical oxygen demand-to-nitrogen （COD/N） ratios, more nitrite was reduced to N2O in the presence of an external carbon source as compared to an internal carbon source （PHA）. At relatively higher COD/N ratios, similar N2O reduction rates were obtained in all cases regardless of the type of carbon source available. N2O reduction rates were, however, generally higher in the presence of an internal carbon source. Results from the study imply that when the presence of an external carbon source is not sufficient to support denitrification, it is likely competitively utilized by different metabolic pathways of denitrifying polyphosphate accumulating organisms （DPAOs） and other ordinary denitfifiers. This study also reveals that the consumption of PHA is potentially the rate-limiting step for N2O reduction during denitrification.

As a result of climate change and increasing engineering activities, soil-related disasters such as slope failures and sandstorms have become more frequent worldwide. These disasters have caused not only loss of life, but also have led to serious economic losses as well as ecological and environmental damage. To sustain mankind, a new discipline, eco-geotechnics, has rapidly become established and developed in recent years. It integrates scientific knowledge from soil mechanics, rock mechanics,ecology, biology, and atmospheric science to develop cross-disciplinary theories and carry out experiments to tackle grand world chall.nges such as the effects of climate change. Through the development of eco-geotechnics, various eco-friendly technologies have been developed to mitigate sandstorms and to improve the performance of earthen structures such as embankments, slopes and landfill covers. Impact of undissociated volatile fatty acids on acidogenesis in a two-phase anaerobic system

This study investigated the degradation and production of volatile fatty acids（VFAs）in the acidogenic phase reactor of a two-phase anaerobic system.20 mmol/l bromoethanesulfonic acid（BESA）was used to inhibit acidogenic methanogens（which were present in the acidogenic phase reactor）from degrading *** impact of undissociated volatile fatty acids（un VFAs）on＂net＂VFAs production in the acidogenic phase reactor was then evaluated,with the exclusion of concurrent VFAs degradation.＂Net＂VFAs production from glucose degradation was partially inhibited at high un VFAs concentrations,with 59%,37% and 60% reduction in production rates at 2190 mg chemical oxygen demand（COD）/l undissociated acetic acid（un HAc）,2130 mg COD/l undissociated propionic acid（un HPr）and 2280 mg COD/l undissociated n-butyric acid（un HBu）,*** profile of VFAs produced further indicated that while an un VFA can primarily affect its own formation,there were also un VFAs that affected the formation of other VFAs.

Reconstructing shock front of unstable detonations based on multi-layer perceptron
