The full array of the large High altitude Air Shower Observatory(lHAASO)has been in operation since July *** its kilometer-square array(KM2A),we optimized the selection criteria for very high and ultrahigh energyγ-rays using data collected from August 2021 to August 2022,resulting in an improvement in significance of the detection in the Crab Nebula of approximately 15%,compared with that of previous *** the implementation of these new selection criteria,the angular resolution was also significantly improved by approximately 10%at tens of *** aspects of the full KM2A array performance,such as the pointing error,were also calibrated using the Crab *** resulting energy spectrum of the Crab Nebula in the energy range of 10-1000 TeV are well fitted by a log-parabola model,which is consistent with the previous results from lHAASO and other experiments.

The volatile constituents of the essential oils from leaves from the weed plants Parthenium hysterophorus and Ambrosia polystachya were identified and quantified by GlC-MS and GlC. allelopathic activities were determined by methods that evaluated the volatile effects and the direct application of these essential oils on the seed germination and seedling vigor of lettuce. We identified 27 compounds in the essential oil from P. hysterophorus, and the main constituents were germacrene-D (35.9%), trans-β-ocimene (8.5%) and β-myrcene (7.6%). In the essential oil from A. polystachya, 40 constituents were identified and the principal compounds were germacrene-D (29.3%), trans-β-ocimene (13.6%) and β-caryophyllene (9.8%). In both methods, the essential oil from A. polystachya presented a greater potential for reducing seed germination and seedling vigor in lettuce than the essential oil from P. hysterophorus, and this activity might be attributed to its higher content of monoterpenes.

We report the detection of aγ-ray bubble spanning at least 100deg2 in ultra-high energy(UHE)up to a few PeV in the direction of the star-forming region Cygnus X,implying the presence super PeVatron(s)accelerating protons to at least 10 PeV.A log-parabola form with the photon indexΓ(E)=(2.71±0.02)+(0.11±0.02)×log10(E/10 TeV)is found fitting the gamma-ray energy spectrum of the bubble *** sources,“hot spots”correlated with very massive molecular clouds,and a quasi-spherical amorphousγ-ray emitter with a sharp central brightening are observed in the *** the core of~0.5°,spatially associating with a region containing massive OB association(Cygnus OB2)and a microquasar(Cygnus X-3),as well as previously reported multi-TeV sources,an enhanced concentration of UHEγ-rays is observed with 2 photons at energies above 1 *** general feature of the bubble,the morphology,and the energy spectrum,are reasonably reproduced by the assumption of a particle accelerator in the core,continuously injecting protons into the ambient medium.

Photovoltaic Powered Reverse Osmosis Plant for Brackish Water without Batteries with Self Acting Pressure Valve and MPPT

This paper presents a PV （photovoltaic） powered RO （reverse osmosis） plant for brackish water without batteries and a self-regulating pressure valve. The aim is to extract the maximum power from the PV module using an MPPT （maximum power point tracking） technique for powering a solar water pump and maintain constant the pressure in the RO membranes by using the self-operated valve. A Buck type converter using the InCond （incremental conductance） MPPT was developed for this application. The MPPT chosen was simulated, tested and validated, showing an efficiency of 86.8%. The technical feasibility of the RO plant was made by PlC （programmable logic controller） and was tested for two salinity levels （1,000 and 1,500 mg/l of TDS （total dissolved solids））. These salinity levels chosen are commonly found in most brackish water wells of the semi-arid region of Northeastern Brazil. The RO plant could permeate 175.3 l/day of drinking water with 120 mg/l of TDS and specific energy consumption of 2.56 kWh/m3.

Fractionation of Zn,Cd and Pb in a Tropical Soil After Nine-Year Sewage Sludge Applications

A long-term field experiment was carried out in the experiment farm of the Sao Paulo State University,Brazil,to evaluate the phytoavailability of Zn,Cd and Pb in a Typic Eutrorthox soil treated with sewage sludge for nine consecutive years,using the sequential extraction and organic matter fractionation *** 2005-2006,maize(Zea mays l.) was used as test plants and the experimental design was in randomized complete blocks with four treatments and five *** treatments consisted of four sewage sludge rates(in a dry basis):0.0(control,with mineral fertilization),45.0,90.0 and 127.5 t ha-1,annually for nine *** maize sowing,the sewage sludge was manually applied to the soil and incorporated at 10 cm *** samples(0-20 cm layer) for Zn,Cd and Pb analysis were collected 60 days after *** successive applications of sewage sludge to the soil did not affect heavy metal(Cd and Pb) fractions in the soil,with exception of Zn *** Zn,Cd and Pb distributions in the soil were strongly associated with humin and residual fractions,which are characterized by stable chemical ***,Cd and Pb in the soil showed low phytoavailability after nine-year successive applications of sewage sludge to the soil.

Physicochemical characterization, the Hirshfeld surface, and biological evaluation of two meloxicam compounding pharmacy samples

Meloxicam(MlX) is an anti-inflammatory drug susceptible to variations and crystalline transitions. In compounding pharmacies, the complete crystallographic evaluation of the raw material is not a routine procedure. We performed a complete crystallographic characterization of aleatory raw MlX samples from compounding pharmacies. X-ray diffraction indicated the presence of two crystalline forms in one sample. DSC experiments suggested that crystal.ization, or a crystal transition, occurred differently between samples. The FTIR and ~1H NMR spectra showed characteristic assignments.^(13)C solid-state NMR spectroscopy indicated the presence of more than one phase in a sample from pharmacy B. The Hirshfeld surface analysis, with electrostatic potential projection, allowed complete assignment of the UV spectra in ethanol solution. The polymorph I of meloxicam was more active than polymorph III in an experimental model of acute inflammation in mice. Our results highlighted the need for complete crystallographic characterization and the separation of freely used raw materials in compounding pharmacies,as a routine procedure, to ensure the desired dose/effect.

The pygmy marmoset,the smallest of the anthropoid primates,has a broad distribution in Western *** studies using molecular and morphological data have identified two distinct species separated by the Napo and Solimoes-Amazonas ***,reconciling this new biological evidence with current taxonomy,i.e.,two subspecies,Cebuella pygmaea pygmaea(Spix,1823)and Cebuella pygmaea niveiventris(lönnberg,1940),was problematic given the uncertainty as to whether Spix’s pygmy marmoset(Cebuella pygmaea pygmaea)was collected north or south of the Napo and Solimoes-Amazonas rivers,making it unclear to which of the two newly revealed species the name pygmaea would ***,we present the first molecular data from Spix’s type specimen of Cebuella pygmaea,as well as novel mitochondrial genomes from modern pygmy marmosets sampled near the type locality(Tabatinga)on both sides of the *** these data,we can confirm the correct names of the two species identified,i.e.,*** for animals north of the Napo and Solimoes-Amazonas rivers and *** for animals south of these two *** analyses of the novel genetic data placed into the context of cytochrome b gene sequences from across the range of pygmy marmosets further led us to reevaluate the geographical distribution for the two Cebuella *** dated the split of these two species to 2.54 million years *** discuss additional,more recent,subdivisions within each lineage,as well as potential contact zones between the two species in the headwaters of these rivers.

Expression of the Genes OsNRT1.1, OsNRT2.1, OsNRT2.2, and Kinetics of Nitrate Uptake in Genetically Contrasting Rice Varieties

Four genetically contrasting rice varieties (IAC-47, Bico Ganga, Arroz de Revenda and Manteiga) according to Random Amplified Polymorphic DNA (RAPD) analysis were assessed regarding expression of the genes OsNRT1.1, OsNRT2.1 and OsNRT2.2 and the nitrate uptake kinetics parameters (Km and Vmax). Up to 250-fold increases in the induction of gene expression after nitrate resupply were observed for the high-affinity transporter (OsNRT2.1 and OsNRT2.2). However, no significant variations in Vmax among the varieties were obtained. The lower value of Km of the IAC-47 cultivar in relation to the Arroz de Revenda variety suggests a greater role of high-affinity transporter genes. These results indicate that closer attention should be paid to the expression levels of these genes in selecting varieties aiming to enhance nitrogen uptake efficiency.
