Rapid detection of colored and colorless macroand micro-plastics in complex environment via near-infrared spectroscopy and machine learning

To better understand the migration behavior of plastic fragments in the environment,development of rapid non-destructive methods for in-situ identification and characterization of plastic fragments is ***,most of the studies had focused only on colored plastic fragments,ignoring colorless plastic fragments and the effects of different environmental media(backgrounds),thus underestimating their *** address this issue,the present study used near-infrared spectroscopy to compare the identification of colored and colorless plastic fragments based on partial least squares-discriminant analysis(PlS-DA),extreme gradient boost,support vector machine and random forest *** effects of polymer color,type,thickness,and background on the plastic fragments classification were ***-DA presented the best and most stable outcome,with higher robustness and lower misclassification *** models frequently misinterpreted colorless plastic fragments and its background when the fragment thickness was less than 0.1mm.A two-stage modeling method,which first distinguishes the plastic types and then identifies colorless plastic fragments that had been misclassified as background,was *** method presented an accuracy higher than 99%in different *** summary,this study developed a novel method for rapid and synchronous identification of colored and colorless plastic fragments under complex environmental backgrounds.

In this study,a novel Ni-W-Co-Mo medium heavy alloy(MHA)was designed to improve its mechanical strength via Mo *** the Ni-42W-10Co-x Mo alloy series,where x represents the weight percent of Mo and varies between 0,1,2,5,and 10,the microstructure transitions from a dendritic structure to a hypo-eutectic structure as the Mo content increases from 0 to 5wt.%.Moreover,as the Mo content increases from 0 to 10wt.%,the distribution of theμ-phase shifts from being individually dispersed to forming aggregates,and its volume fraction rises from 0.5%to 7.9%.Notably,theμ-phase evolves into an eutectic microstructure,which helps in minimizing the segregation of *** change is accompanied by a substantial enhancement in mechanical properties;specifically,the compressive yield strength at room temperature increases from 350 MPa to 646 MPa,indicating a significant 85%***,the microhardness increases from 230 HV to 304 *** dynamics simulations further reveal that the strengthening mechanism of Ni-42W-10Co-x Mo alloys is Mo-induced solid solution strengthening and precipitation strengthening.

Vibration safety assessment and parameter analysis of buried oil pipelines based on vibration isolation holes under strong surface impact

Strong surface impact will produce strong vibration,which will pose a threat to the safety of nearby buried pipelines and other important lifeline *** on the verified numerical method,a comprehensive numerical parameter analysis is conducted on the key influencing factors of the vibration isolation hole(VIH),which include hole diameter,hole net spacing,hole depth,hole number,hole arrangement,and soil *** results indicate that a smaller ratio of net spacing to hole diameter,the deeper the hole,the multi-row hole,the hole adoption of staggered arrangements,and better site soil conditions can enhance the efficiency of the VIH *** average maximum vibration reduction efficiency within the vibration isolation area can reach 42.2%.The vibration safety of adjacent oil pipelines during a dynamic compaction projection was evaluated according to existing standards,and the measurement of the VIH was recommended to reduce excessive *** single-row vibration isolation scheme and three-row staggered arrangement with the same hole parameters are suggested according to different *** research findings can serve as a reference for the vibration safety analysis,assessment,and control of adjacent underground facilities under the influence of strong surface impact loads.

High intrinsic thermal conductivity and low dielectric constant of liquid crystalline epoxy resins with fluorine-containing semi-IPN structures

High integration, high frequency, high power, and miniaturization of electrical and electronic devices have raised higher demands for epoxy resins with both high intrinsic thermal conductivity and low dielectric properties. herein, a series of linear fluorinated epoxy copolymers(poly（PFS-co-GMA）) were synthesized via reversible addition-fragmentation chain transfer（RAFT） polymerization. Poly（PFS-co-GMA） was introduced into the cross-linked network of a biphenyl-based liquid crystalline epoxy（lCE） by forming a semi-interpenetrating polymer network（semi-IPN）. The prepared liquid crystalline epoxy resins（lCERs） simultaneously exhibited high intrinsic thermal conductivity and low dielectric properties. The molar mass and mass fraction of poly（PFS-co-GMA） were found to have a profound effect on the thermal conductivity and dielectric performance of lCERs. For instance, poly（PFS-co-GMA） with the number average molar mass（M_n） of 4300 and 7800 g/mol showed a decreasing effect on the thermal conductivity（λ） of lCERs whereas the polymer with M_n of 10500 g/mol enhanced the λ. The intrinsic λ of lCERs increased to a remarkable highest value of 0.40 W/（m K）, which was twice that of conventional epoxy resin(0.20 W/（m·K）). In addition, introducing poly（PFS-co-GMA） would significantly decrease the dielectric constant（ε） and dielectric loss tangent（tanδ） of lCERs from 3.44 and 0.035 to 2.49 and 0.001 at 1 MHz, respectively. Notably, the ε and tanδ could remain relatively stable over a wide range of frequencies and temperatures up to 120 °C. Additionally, the semi-IPN structure enhanced the hardness, electrical insulation, and hydrophobicity of lCERs.

Gradient magnetic heterointerfaces have injected infinite vitality in optimizing impedance matching,adjusting dielectric/magnetic resonance and promoting electromagnetic(EM)wave absorption,but still exist a significant challenging in regulating local phase ***,accordion-shaped Co/Co_(3)O_(4)@N-doped carbon nanosheets(Co/Co_(3)O_(4)@NC)with gradient magnetic heterointerfaces have been fabricated via the cooperative high-temperature carbonization and lowtemperature oxidation *** results indicate that the surface epitaxial growth of crystal Co_(3)O_(4) domains on local Co nanoparticles realizes the adjustment of magnetic-heteroatomic components,which are beneficial for optimizing impedance matching and interfacial ***,gradient magnetic heterointerfaces simultaneously realize magnetic coupling,and long-range magnetic ***,the synthesized Co/Co_(3)O_(4)@NC absorbents display the strong electromagnetic wave attenuation capability of−53.5 dB at a thickness of 3.0 mm with an effective absorption bandwidth of 5.36 GHz,both are superior to those of single magnetic domains embedded in carbon *** design concept provides us an inspiration in optimizing interfacial polarization,regulating magnetic coupling and promoting electromagnetic wave absorption.

B2-CuZr phase reinforced amorphous alloy matrix composites has become one of the research hotspots in the field of materials science due to the“transformation-induced plasticity”phenomenon,which makes the composites show better macroscopic plastic deformability and obvious work-hardening behavior compared to the conventional amorphous alloy matrix composites reinforced with ductile ***,the in-situ metastable B2-CuZr phase tends to undergo eutectoid decomposition during solidification,and the volume fraction,size,and distribution of B2-CuZr phase are difficult to control,which limits the development and application of these *** date,much efforts have been made to solve the above problems through composition optimization,casting parameter tailoring,and post-processing *** this study,a review was given based on relevant studies,focusing on the predictive approach,reinforcing mechanism,and microstructure tailoring methods of B2-CuZr phase reinforced amorphous alloy matrix *** research focus and future prospects were also given for the future development of the present composite system.

A self-adaptive inorganic in-situ separator by particle crosslinking for nonflammable lithium-ion batteries

All-safe liquid-state lithium-ion batteries(ASlS-lIBs) is of great interest as they can potentially combine the safety of all-solid-state batteries with the high performance and low manufacturing cost of traditional liquid-state lIBs. However, the practical success of ASlS-lIBs is bottlenecked by the lack of advanced separator technology that can simultaneously realize high performances in puncturing-tolerability,fire-resistance, and importantly, wetting-capability with non-flammable liquid-electrolytes. here, we propose a concept of inorganic in-situ separator(IISS) by hybrid-sol physical crosslinking directly onto the electrode surface to address the above challenges. Particularly, the hybrid-sol is designed with silica nanoparticles as the building block and poly(vinylidene difluoride) nanoparticles as the crosslinking agent. The critical factors for controlling the IISS microstructures and properties have been systematically investigated. The advantages of the IISS have been confirmed by its fast wetting with various fireresistant liquid-electrolytes, customizable thickness and porous structures, robust interface with planar or three-dimensional(3D)-structured electrodes, and importantly, unexpected self-adaptability against puncturing. Enabled by the above merits, a fire-resistant ASlS-lIB is successfully assembled and demonstrated with stable electrochemical performance. This sol-crosslinked IISS may open an avenue for the studies on the next-generation separator technology, cell assembling, solid electrolyte processing as well as non-flammable secondary batteries.

Autocyclic switching processes and architecture of lobes in river-dominated lacustrine deltas

River-dominated lacustrine deltas typically consist of multiple lobes due to autogenic lobe switching that occurs over short time scales. However, the switching patterns of multiple lobes in these deltas remain poorly understood, and the architectural features attributed to lobe switching are also lacking. By integrating Delft3D simulations, flume experiments, and modern deposit analysis, we proposed that autogenic lobe switching follows a cyclic pattern. Autocyclicity begins with the formation of an offshore lobe and concludes after a series of longshore lobe growth events, marked by longshore avulsions occurring along the sides of offshore distributary *** avulsions follow a sequence that usually occurs earlier distally than proximally and subsequently occurs on one longshore side and then on the other side. Each lobe begins with rapid growth, which gradually slows and then stops once a channel avulsion is influenced by the backwater effect that triggers lobe switching. Three signals indicate lobe switching: a decrease in progradation rate, foreset slope steepening coupled with topset slope gentling, and the deposition of mud-dominated sediments. The number of autocyclic events never exceeds *** first two autocyclicities contribute to more than 55% of delta length and 70% of delta area. The lobes are separated by 1-6 stages of mud-dominated accretion beds that exhibit a downstream-inclined shape and convexup or lateral overlapping pattern. This study conducts a coupled growth-geometric assessment to establish an architectural pattern for river-dominated lacustrine deltas. This architectural pattern offers valuable insights into predicting sandy lobe distribution in river-dominated lacustrine delta reservoirs, and the architecture of muddy accretion beds aids in predicting the rule of oil-water movement and distribution of remaining oil.
