this paper we study planned and unplanned adjustment processes in master-planned communities and new towns by a first wave of residents,in which changes in lifestyles play a central role.How can unplanned transitions be stimulated and play a role in making a new town more attractive,sustainable,adjustable,and fexible in use?We apply this to the case of Anting New Town in Shanghai.We focus on both personal.a.d collective adjustments and appropriation in housing,commercial.a. well.a. public space.We explore methods of doing visual research by observation,in line with methods by Venturi and Boudon.By adding economic and socio-cultural drivers and institutional frameworks,which allow these alterations to happen,conclusions are made about the possible sustainability,adjustability,and flexibility of these planned structures.We analyze adjustments from different perspectives on the themes of urbanity and identity:architectural-morphological,②functional-economical.a.d socio-cultural.Following different approaches to studying the planned and unplanned city,we explain how the urbanity and identity of Anting have changed in various ways.Appropriation of building structures and urban spaces is a key element in this process of change.It is the outcome of a wider process of economicand socio-culturalchange.

Synthetic molecules that form functional noncovalent assemblies in water have received much attention for their potential.a.plications as biomaterials.In this work,we introduce a novel water-compatible monomer based on the phthalhydrazide moiety that assembles into hydrogen-bonded trimeric discs.In bulk,the material exhibits a cylindrical nanostructure in the liquid-crystalline phase at elevated temperatures,morphologically distinct from the crystalline lamel.a. phase.In water,these molecules effectively form cylinders in a one-dimensional fashion,yielding fibrous structures.The formation of these supramolecular polymers follows a cooperative mechanism,as evidenced by denaturation studies.The trimerized pattern represents a new category of aqueous su pramolecular polymers with future prospects for functional complex molecular systems.

Background:Commercial pre-weaning diets are formulated to be highly digestible and nutrient-dense and contain low levels of dietary fibre.In contrast,pigs in a natural setting are manipulating fibre-rich plant material from a young age.Moreover,dietary fibre affects gastrointestinal tract(GIT)development and health in older pigs.We hypothesised that supplemental diets that contain vegetal fibres are accelerating GIT development in suckling piglets in terms of size and functionality.From d 2 of life,sow-suckled piglets had access to a low fibre diet(CON),a diet with a fermentable long-chain arabinoxylan(lc-AXOS),a diet with a largely non-fermentable purified cellulose(CEll),or a diet containing both fibres.During the initial 2 weeks,the control diet was a high-density milk replacer,followed by a dry and highly digestible creep meal.Upon weaning at 25 d,15 piglets from each treatment group,identified as eaters and originating from six or seven litters,were sacrificed for post-mortem examination of GIT morphology,small intestinal permeability and metabolic profile of the digesta.The microbiota composition of the mid-colon was eval.a.ed in a sub-set of ten piglets.Results:No major statistical interactions between the fibre sources were observed.Piglets consumed the fibrecontaining milk supplements and creep diets well.Stomach size and small intestinal permeability was not affected.large intestinal fill was increased with lc-AXOS only,while relative large intestinal weight was increased with both fibre sources(Plso,CEll decreased il.a. pH and tended to increase il.a. DM content compared to CON(Platile fatty acids was increased in the caecum(Plon(Pll.lc-AXOS only stimulated caecal propionate(Pl variation and limited dietary impact.Nonetheless,CEll induced minor shifts in specific genera,with notable reductions of Escherichia-Shigel.a.Conclusions:Adding dietary fibres to the

Cluster radioactivity is studied within the generalized liquid drop model(GlDM),in which the shell correction energy,pairing energy,and cluster preformation factor are considered.The calculations show significant improvements and can reproduce the experimental data within a factor of 8.04 after considering these physical effects.In addition,the systematic trend of the cluster preformation factors is discussed in terms of the N_(p)N_(n)scheme to study the influence of the valence proton-neutron interaction and shell effect on cluster radioactivity.It is found that log10Pcis linearly related to N_(p)N_(n).This is in agreement with a recent study[l.Qi et al.,Phys.Rev.C 108,014325(2023)],in which log10Pc,obtained using different theoretical models and treatment methods than those used in this study,also had a linear relationship with N_(p)N_(n).Combined with the work by Qi et al.,this study suggests that the linear relationship between log10Pcand N_(p)N_(n)is model-independent and both the shell effect and valence proton-neutron interaction play essential roles in cluster radioactivity.An analytical formula is proposed to calculate the cluster preformation factor based on the N_(p)N_(n)scheme.In addition,the cluster preformation factors and the cluster radioactivity half-lives of some heavy nuclei are predicted,which can provide a reference for future experiments.

Current study eval.a.ed the effect of a fine and coarsely ground insoluble dietary fibre source on the gastrointestinal development of suckling pigs.Oat hulls(OH)were selected as a model feedstuff,rich in cellulose,lignin,and insoluble dietary fibre.Three experimental supplemental diets were formulated:a finely ground,low fibre and nutrient dense diet served as control(CON).For the 2 high fibre diets,15%heat-treated starch in CON was exchanged with OH,either finely(OH-f)or coarsely ground(OH-c).litters of 10 primi-and multiparous sows(mean litter size 14.6±0.84)were used.Within a litter,experimental diets were allotted to triplets of 4 piglets.From approximately 12 d of age,piglets’individual feed intakes were recorded 2 times per day when separated from their dam for 70 min.Piglets could suckle with their dam for the remainder of the day.On d 24 and 25,from the total pool of 120 piglets,seven healthy well-eating piglets per treatment were selected for post-mortem eval.a.ion,resulting in 14 replicates per treatment.Consumption of OH-c and OH-f did not impede clinical health and production performance of piglets.The full stomach weights tended to be greater for OH-c compared to OH-f whereas CON was intermediate(P=0.083).Supplementing OH significantly increased il.a. villus height and caecal dry matter concentration(Plon,OH increased its length,contents weight,short-chain fatty acid concentration and reduced total bacterial count as well.a.γ-proteobacteria count and proportion(Plly increased full gastrointestinal tract weight and caecum contents weight compared to piglets fed CON and OH-f.Furthermore,OH-c reduced colonic crypt depth when compared to OH-f(P=0.018).In conclusion,supplementing OH to a diet for suckling piglets exerted subtle developmental effects on gastrointestinal morphology and colonic microbial community.These effects were largely independent from the particle size of the OH.

In 2017,a ballistic phenomenological model was proposed by the authors of Ref.[1] to numerically simulate the experimental depths of small caliber projectiles impacting walls made of adobe.The opportunity for a new model in the field revealed from the observation that two older models recently used by the authors of Ref.[2] shared a linear relationship between the penetration depth P and the impacting velocity v_(O).

This paper gives a critical view on the incredible growth of Shanghai since the millennium.It focuses on the search for a new identity by this metropolis,both in its new town development as well.a. on the transformation and regeneration of downtown areas.By explaining the most important planning policies and trends with the help of recent key projects,and analysing how these projects developed over time,the context and challenges of Shanghai’s rapid urban transformation become cl.a.er.Especially the challenges for urban preservation and quest for an identity in this continuously changing urban landscape will become more insightful.Based on these insights recommendations are given on how Shanghai can be exemplary,within China and internationally in terms of urban development,urban regeneration,and becoming a more future-proof city.The paper concludes with some trends and future perspectives.

In this overall survey of the seagrasses of China 15 species are listed, eight of which are recorded for the first time. The Potamogetonaceae (subfamilies Zosteroideae and Cymodoceoideae) are represented by 10 species, and the Hydrocharitaceae (subfamilies Vallisnerioideae, Thalassioideae and Halophiloideae)by 5 species. Halophila ovalis (R.Br.) Hook, f. is represented by 2 subspecies. A key to the species based on vegetative and generative characteristics is presented.
