Nutritional.and Sanitary Quality of Infant Flours Produced in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso

The quality of infant flours used during the weaning age is of great importance in that it conditions the nutritional health of infants and young children. This study aimed to assess the nutritional.and sanitary quality of infant flours produced in the city of Ouagadougou. This was a cross-sectional study including 11 out of 25 infant flour production units that gave their consent to partake in the study. In total, 25 infant flour samples have been collected from July to September 2021. The physicochemical.and microbiological parameters were determined according to standard methods. The ANOVA analysis of variance showed significant differences between the means of the physico-chemical.and the means of the microbiological parameters respectively. The results showed that 60% of proteins and 80% of lipid and total carbohydrate contents were below the authorised limits. The energy values were below the authorised limit in 88% of the cases. All instant infant flours had microbiological l.ads compl.ant with Burkinabè standards. As for infant flour to be cooked, 63.64% and 81.82% had satisfactory numbers of total coliforms and faecal coliforms respectively. Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli were detected in these samples with 86.36% of infant formulae having results below the recommended limit. These results show that the infant flours produced in Ouagadougou were somehow of acceptable quality. However, there is a need to improve the formulae for macronutrient contents, energy values and sanitary quality to comply with the recommendations.

Improved Growth and Stress Tolerance in the Arabidopsis oxtl Mutant Triggered by Altered Adenine Metabolism

Plants perceive and respond to environmental stresses with complex mechanisms that are often associ- ated with the activation of antioxidant defenses. A genetic screen aimed at isolating oxidative stress-tolerant lines of Arabidopsis thal.ana has identified oxtl, a line that exhibits improved tolerance to oxidative stress and elevated temperature but displays no apparent deleterious growth effects under non-stress conditions. Oxtl harbors a muta- tion that arises from the altered expression of a gene encoding adenine phosphoribosyltransferase （APT1）, an enzyme that converts adenine to adenosine monophosphate （AMP）, indicating a link between purine metabolism, whole-plant growth responses, and stress acclimation. The oxtl mutation results in decreased APT1 expression that l.ads to reduced enzymatic activity. Correspondingly, oxtl plants possess elevated levels of adenine. Decreased APT enzyme activity dir- ectly correlates with stress resistance in transgenic lines that ectopically express APT1. The metabolic alteration in oxtl plants also alters the expression of several.antioxidant defense genes and the response of these genes to oxidative chal- lenge. Finally, it is shown that manipulation of adenine levels can induce stress tolerance to wild-type plants. Collectively, these results show that alterations in cellular adenine levels can trigger stress tolerance and improve growth, l.ading to increases in plant biomass. The results also suggest that adenine might play a part in the signals that modulate responses to abiotic stress and plant growth.

背景当药物总量固定时，局麻药的容积或浓度改变是否会对骶管麻醉的扩散平面及镇痛效果产生影响尚不清楚。方法本研究采用前瞻、随机、观测者盲法实施。年龄为1—5岁的小儿给予预先配置、剂量为2．25mg＆g的罗哌卡因。其中一组给予1．0ml／kg浓度为0．225％（小容量／高浓度[10wvolume／highconcentration，lVHC]，n=37）的药物，男一组给予1．5ml／kg浓度为0．15％（大容量“氐浓度[highvolume／lowconcentration，HVlC]，n=36）的药物。两种溶液中均舍有不透放射线的染料.结果HVlC组扩散平面的中位数及范围（T6，T3-II）明显高于lVHC组（T11，T8—12）（经X线透视证实）。、两组在恢复时间、术后疼痛评分和副作用方面没有显著性差异。停药舌，HVlC组与lVHC组相比，需要给予对乙酰氡基酚来缓解疼楠的儿重更少（50．0％vs75．7％）。HVlC组患儿首次需要口眼对乙酰氧基酚的时间明显晚干lVHC组（363．0分钟VS554．5分钟）．结论我们证实（经X线透视检查）以1ml／kg罗哌卡因施行骶管麻醉时扩散平面可达T11，而采用1．5ml／kg时则可扩散至T6水平。日间小儿睾丸固定术麻醉中，如果药物总量固定，大容量稀释的罗哌卡因（0．15％）相对小容量高浓度罗哐卡因（0．225％）具有更好的镇痛效果和更长的作用时间。罗哌卡因的麻醉扩散平面与首次口服对乙酰氯基酚的时间显著相关。

Background: Development of new nanomaterials that inhibit or kil.bacteria is an important and timely research topic. For example, financial losses due to infectious diseases, such as diarrhea, are a major concern in livestock productions around the world. Antimicrobial nanoparticles(NPs) represent a promising alternative to antibiotics and may lower antibiotic use and consequently spread of antibiotic resistance traits among bacteria, including ***: Four formulations of zinc nanoparticles(Zn A, Zn B, Zn C, and Zn D) based on phosphates with spherical(Zn A, Zn B)or irregular(Zn C, Zn D) morphology were prepared. The highest in vitro inhibitory effect of our NPs was observed against Staphylococcus aureus(inhibitory concentration values, IC50, ranged from 0.5 to 1.6 mmol/l), fol owed by Escherichia coli(IC500.8–1.5 mmol/l). In contrast, methicil in resistant S. aureus(IC501.2–4.7 mmol/l) was l.ast affected and this was similar to inhibitory patterns of commercial Zn O-based NPs and Zn O. After the successful in vitro testing, the in vivo study with rats based on dietary supplementation with zinc NPs was conducted. Four groups of rats were treated by 2,000 mg Zn/kg diet of Zn A, Zn B, Zn C, and Zn D, for comparison two groups were supplemented by 2,000 mg Zn/kg diet of Zn O-N and Zn O, and one group(control) was fed only by basal diet. The significantly higher(P level in liver and kidney of al treated groups was found, nevertheless Zn NPs did not greatly influence antioxidant status of rats. However,the total.aerobic and coliform bacterial population in rat feces significantly decreased(P l zinc groups after 30 d of the treatment. Furthermore, when compared to the Zn O group, Zn A and Zn C nanoparticles reduced coliforms significantly more(P lusions: Our results demonstrate that phosphate-based zinc nanoparticles have the potential to act as antibiotic agents.

重组大肠杆菌产β-1,3-1,4-葡聚糖酶的培养基优化

为了提高重组大肠杆菌(Escherichia coli)Rosetta(DE3)-pET-22-bgl-(kil.Km)的产酶能力,采用单因素试验研究了培养基碳源、氮源及碳氮比(摩尔比)对重组大肠杆菌Rosetta(DE3)-pET-22-bgl-(kil.Km)分泌表达重组β-1,3-1,4-葡聚糖酶H(A107-M)的影响.在此基础上,采用Box-Behnken设计法和响应面分析法对以上影响因素进行优化,得出最优培养基成分为(g/l):甘油10.01,酪蛋白胨12.03,酵母粉24,NaCl 10,(NH4)2SO44.77,KH2PO42.31,K2HPO412.54.

We report the discovery of KMT-2020-BlG-0414 lb,with a planet-to-host mass ratio q2=0.9-1.2×10-5=3-4 q⊕at 1σ,which is the lowest mass-ratio microlensing planet to *** with two other recent discoveries(4?q/q⊕?6),it fills out the previous empty sector at the bottom of the triangular(log s,log q)diagram,where s is the planet-host separation in units of the angular Einstein radiusθ***,these discoveries call into question the existence,or at l.ast the strength,of the break in the mass-ratio function that was previously suggested to account for the paucity of very low-q *** to the extreme magnification of the event,Amax~1450 for the underlying single-lens event,its light curve revealed a second companion with q3~0.05 and|log s3|~1,i.e.,a factor~10 closer to or farther from the host in *** measurements of the microlens paral.axπE and the angular Einstein radiusθE allow estimates of the host,planet and second companion masses,(M1,M2,M3)~(0.3 M⊙,1.0 M⊕,17 MJ),the planet and second companion projected separations,(a⊥,2,a⊥,3)~(1.5,0.15 or 15)au,and system distance Dl~1 *** lens could account for most or all of the blended light(I~19.3)and so can be studied immediately with high-resolution photometric and spectroscopic observations that can further clarify the nature of the *** planet was found as part of a new program of high-cadence follow-up observations of high-magnification *** detection of this planet,despite the considerable difficulties imposed by COVID-19(two KMT sites and OGlE were shut down),illustrates the potential utility of this program.

目的:综述树突状细胞在慢性乙型肝炎和肝癌治疗中的应用前景。资料来源:应用计算机检索PUBMED2001-01/2005-12期间的相关文章,检索词为"dendritic cells,chronic type B hepatitis,hepatoma,therapy",并限定文章语言种类为English。同时计算机检索万方数据库2001-01/2005-12期间的相关文章,检索词为"树突状细胞,慢性乙肝,肝癌,治疗",并限定文章语言种类为中文。资料选择:对资料进行初审,并查看每篇文献后的引文。纳入标准:文章所述内容应与树突状细胞在慢性乙型肝炎和肝癌治疗中的应用相关。排除标准:重复研究或Meta分析类文章。资料提炼:共收集到56篇相关文献,30篇文献符合纳入标准,排除的26篇文献为内容陈旧或重复。符合纳入标准的30篇文献中,15篇涉及树突状细胞与慢性乙型肝炎的治疗,10篇涉及树突状细胞与肝癌的治疗,5篇涉及存在的问题与展望。资料综合:慢性乙型肝炎和肝癌的发生发展与病毒的持续感染和机体的免疫功能障碍有关,树突状细胞是机体中功能最强的抗原提呈细胞,在诱导T细胞抗病毒和抗肿瘤免疫中起核心作用。①树突状细胞与慢性乙型肝炎的治疗:许多证据表明由树突状细胞介导的细胞毒T淋巴细胞反应,通过杀伤感染的肝细胞和释放抗病毒的细胞因子来清除乙型肝炎病毒。②树突状细胞与肝癌的治疗:研究证明,经肿瘤抗原致敏的树突状细胞能明显增强特异性细胞毒T淋巴细胞对肝癌细胞的杀伤活性。结论:树突状细胞与慢性乙型肝炎和肝癌的发生发展密切相关。在乙型肝炎和肝癌治疗中,如能激发、增强机体对乙型肝炎病毒和肝癌细胞的主动免疫排斥反应,可有助于清除体内的病毒和肿瘤,达到抗病毒和抗肿瘤治疗的目的。
