Determination of the standardized ileal digestible calcium requirement of Ross broilers from hatch to day 14 post-hatch

An experiment was conducted to determine the standardized ileal digestible(SID)calcium requirement of fast-growing broilers from hatch to d 14 *** 308(n=360)male broilers were obtained on day of hatch and allocated to 1 of 5 treatments in battery *** were 6 birds per cage and 12 pens per *** treatments were formulated to contain 0.60%,0.46%,0.32%or 0.18%SID *** final treatment was formulated using total Ca to meet or exceed all nutrient requirements,including 0.90%total Ca and 0.49%non-phytate P(nPP),using the same *** treatment was the reference diet for comparison and validation of the SID Ca *** and feed were weighed at placement and on d *** and ileal contents were obtained on d 14 and excreta was collected per pen and pooled on d *** were analyzed using JMP Pro and requirements were estimated using 3different non-linear regression *** the SID Ca content in the diet from 0.18%to 0.60%improved(quadratic,Plity corrected feed conversion ratio(mFCR).The estimated SID Ca requirement to optimize gain or m FCR was between 0.39%and 0.52%.Tibia ash percent and weight increased(quadratic,Plization was improved in birds fed diets formulated using SID Ca compared with birds fed the reference *** conclusion,the SID Ca requirement of fast-growing broilers from hatch to d 14 was estimated between 0.534%and 0.398%when quadratic,straight-broken line,or quadratic-broken line regressions were *** results agree with previously published data evaluating the SID Ca requirement of fast-growth broilers from hatch to d 10.

Catalytic oxidation of toluene over noble metal catalysts is a representative reaction for elimination of volatile organic compounds(VOCs).However,to fully understand the activation of molecular oxygen and the role of active oxygen species generated in this reaction is still a challenging ***,MgO nanosheets and single-atom Pt loaded MgO(Pt SA/MgO)nanosheets were synthesized and used as catalysts in toluene *** activation process of molecular oxygen and oxidation performance on the two catalysts were contrastively *** Pt SA/MgO exhibited significantly enhanced catalytic activity compared to *** oxygen vacancies can be easily generated on the Pt SA/MgO surface,which facilitate the activation of molecular oxygen and the formation of active oxygen *** on the experimental data and theoretical calculations,an active oxygen species promoted oxidation mechanism for toluene was *** the presence of H2O,the molecular oxygen is more favorable to be dissociated to generate•OH on the oxygen vacancies of the Pt SA/MgO surface,which is the dominant active oxygen *** anticipate that this work may shed light on further investigation of t10.1007/s12274-020-2765-1he oxidation mechanism of toluene and other VOCs over noble metal catalysts.

目的:建立分级规避HlA抗体MFI阈值对应抗原方法,联合应用HlAMatchmaker表位计算法,选择供患者表位最小错配评分值,评估两种方法为免疫性血小板输注无效(Immune platelet transfusion refractoriness,IPTR)患者选择HlA相容性血小板供者,在提升血小板输注后校正增加值(CCI)的应用价值。方法:采用SPRCA法完成51例IPTR患者的7807次血小板交叉配型实验,判断其免疫反应阴/阳性结果。采用luminex单抗原流式微珠法检测患者的HlA-I类抗体,获得不同特异性抗体对应HlA-I类抗原MFI值,并将其分组及分级,强阳性组(MFI>4000,1级)、中阳性组(1000中阳性组>弱阳性组)。强阳性和中阳性组与阴性对照组之间的SPRCA实验免疫反应阳性结果检出数存在统计学差异(P0.05)。设置强阳性组为相应特异性HlA位点对应抗原1级规避阈值,中阳性组为2级规避阈值,弱阳性组为3级规避阈值,在供者血小板紧缺情况下,可以不需要规避弱阳性组。规避1和2级HlA-I类抗体对应供者抗原及选择HlAMatchmaker表位错配评分数≤7血小板供者策略,24 h内CCI值均>4.5×109/l,均可获得临床血小板输注有效。结论:在为IPTR患者选择HlA-I类相容性供者时,分级规避HlA-I类抗体对应供者抗原,综合选择供受者HlAMatchmaker表位错配评分数≤7,经血小板交叉配型实验确认为阴性结果的供者选择策略,对提升IPTR患者血小板计数具有一定实际应用价值。

Phenolic metabolism and molecular mass distribution of polysaccharides in cellulose-deficient maize cells

As a consequence of the habituation to low levels of dichlobenil （DCB）, cultured maize cells presented an altered hemicellulose cell fate with a lower proportion of strongly wall-bound hemicelluloses and an increase in soluble extracellular polymers released into the culture medium. The aim of this study was to investigate the relative molecular mass distributions of polysaccharides as well as phenolic metabolism in cells habituated to low levels of DCB （1.5 μM）. Generally, cell wall bound hemicelluloses and sloughed polymers from habituated cells were more homogeneously sized and had a lower weight-average relative molecular mass. In addition, polysaccharides underwent massive cross-linking after being secreted into the cell wall, but this cross-linking was less pronounced in habituated cells than in non-habituated ones. However, when relativized, ferulic acid and p-coumaric acid contents were higher in this habituated cell line. Feasibly, cells habituated to low levels of DCB synthesized molecules with a lower weight-average relative molecular mass, although cross-linked, as a part of their strategy to compensate for the lack of cellulose.

Apoptosis of human colon carcinoma HT-29 cells induced by ceramide

AIM： To investigate the effect of exogenous ceramideinduced apoptosis on human colon carcinoma HT-29 cells. METHODS： light microscope, transmission electron microscope and fluorescence microscope were used to observe the morphology change of apoptosis in HT-29 cells. Agarose gel electrophoresis was performed to detect the DNA fragment. Mitochondrial function was detected by MTT assay, mRNA expression of Bcl-2 family gene members was determined by reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction （RT-PCR） assay. RESUlTS： After C2-ceramide treatment, typical characteristics of apoptosis, such as nuclear chromatin breakage, apoptotic body and DNA ladder, could be observed. After exposure to 50μmol/l C2-ceramide for 12 and 24 h, cell apoptosis was 64.1% and 81.3% respectively, which had a time-and dose-effect relationship. Mitochondrial function started to decrease from 6 h after exposure to ceramide. Meanwhile, ceramide up-regulated or down-regulated the mRNA expression of Bcl-2 family gene members. CONClUSION： Ceramide induces apoptosis of human colon carcinoma HT-29 cells by affecting the expression of Bcl-2 family gene members and impacting the mitochondrial function.

Effect of Different Initial pH on the Storage Characteristics and Shelf life of liquid Diet for Suckling and Weanling Piglets

An experiment was conducted to investigate the effect of different initial pH on the storage characteristics and shelf life of liquid diet. 45 polypropylene bags were allotted to treatments 1, 2 and 3 on average, 100 g diet and 200 g water were placed into each polypropylene bag, food-grade Dl-lactic acid was added to each bag at a rate of 0.0 ml in treatment l, 1.2 ml in treatment 2 and 4.7 ml in treatment 3, air was artificially expelled from each bag prior to heat-sealing. All bags were placed into a cage, cooked with steam at 90~C for 30 rain under normal pressure, then taken out and stored from day 0 to 60 at room temperature. Results indicated that liquid diet in treatment 3 achieved the highest total sensory scores, the pH value had a tendency to decrease and the bacteria count had a tendency to increase in the liquid diet with the advancing of storage time with the advancing of storage time, lowering the initial pH of liquid diet decreased the bacteria count, the AFBl and ZEN concentrations and increased the starch gelatinization degree from day 30 to 60, liquid diet in treatment 3 had a lower （P〈0.01） bacteria count and a higher （P〈0.05） starch gelatinization degree at day 30 and 45 than liquid diet in treatment 1. In conclusion, lowering the initial pH of liquid diet with lactic acid to pH 4 could effectively improve the storage characteristics and shelf life of liquid diet.

Implementation of an international medical student pen-pal club:survey outcomes of perceptions in cultural competency and global health

Neutral hydrogen clouds are known to exist in the Universe, however their spatial distributions and physical properties are poorly understood. Such missing information can be studied by the new generation of Chinese radio telescopes through a blind search of 21-cm absorption systems. We forecast the capabilities of surveys of 21-cm absorption systems by two representative radio telescopes in China - the Five-hundred-meter Aperture Spherical radio Telescope （FAST） and Tianlai 21-cm cosmology experiment （Tianlai）. Facilitated by either the high sensitivity （FAST） or wide field of view （Tianlai） of these telescopes, more than a thousand 21-cm absorption systems can be discovered in a few years, representing orders of magnitude improvement over the cumulative discoveries in the past half a century.
