A comparative study of machine learning in predicting the mechanical properties of the deposited AA6061 alloys via additive friction stir deposition

Additive friction stir deposition(AFSD)provides strong flexibility and better performance in component design,which is controlled by the process *** is an essential and difficult task to tune those *** recent exploration of machine learning(ml)exhibits great potential to obtain a suitable balance between productivity and set *** this study,ml techniques,including support vector machine(SVm),random forest(RF)and artificial neural network(ANN),are applied to predict the mechanical properties of the AFSD-based AA6061 *** for the stable parameters(temperature,force and torque)in situ monitored by the self-developed process-aware kit during the AFSD process and the other factors(rotation speed,traverse speed,feed rate and layer thickness)are also set as input *** output variables are microhardness and ultimate tensile strength(UTS).Prediction results show that the ANN model performs the best prediction accuracy with the highest R2(0.9998)and the lowest mean absolute error(mAE,0.0050)and root mean square error(RmSE,0.0063).Furthermore,analysis suggests that the feed rate(24.8%/24.1%)and layer thickness(25.6%/26.6%)indicate a higher contribution that affects the mechanical properties.

This paper describes the design and implementation of an intelligent computer-aided design (ICAD) system for hydraulic circuits of pressing machines. The CAD system is developed based on the object-oriented approach. The application domain of hydraulic presses has been studied thoroughly. The engineering data and the design knowledge are organized in an object-oriented database. A case study has been selected to illustrate the usefulness of the object-oriented CAD system in real applications.

The objective of this study is to develop a Global Positioning System (GPS) assist application software on vehicle fleet management. Provided by a government department, a vehicle fleet consists of 100 vehicles will be used to test and verify the system. The above-mentioned government department does have a manual vehicle fleet management system to store the driving records such as locations, time, distance travel (read from the meter). A designated personnel will get the driving data from the drivers. The data will be filled in a special form and store for record. However, whether the data is reliable is not easy to tell. moreover, other driving/working records, such as speeding, not driving to sites according to predefined routes, abnormal staying in a location not related to work, etc, is impossible to be checked by the traditional system. With the help of a precise digital map and the assistance of Global Positioning System (GPS) technology, it is possible to develop a system for vehicle management. Good vehicles management not only can keep track of usage of vehicles but also can verify the daily/weekly workload assigned by team leaders. A GPS assisted vehicle fleet system is therefore developed to resolve the above-mentioned problems and reduce the workload of *** vehicle fleet system developed consists of hardware for GPS data logging and several software modules for data collection, data analysis and generating driving reports. For the hardware, a GPS data logger with an original e-quipment manufacturer (OEm) GPS receiver is used. A card writer for writing the GPS data to a multi media Gard (mmC) is built-in to the logger. There are several jumpers for setting GPS data in different record format. For the software, they are separated into two main functions. One is the data collection from the drivers’ description or data stored in mmC card. Another is the data analysis and a report generation for each vehicle. An ORAClE server is used to exchange the

In this study,we aim to assess dynamical downscaling simulations by utilizing a novel bias-corrected global climate model(GCm)data to drive a regional climate model(RCm)over the Asia-western North Pacific *** simulations were conducted with a 25-km grid spacing for the period 1980–*** first simulation(WRF_ERA5)was driven by the European Centre for medium-Range Weather Forecasts Reanalysis 5(ERA5)dataset and served as the validation *** original GCm dataset(mPI-ESm1-2-HR model)was used to drive the second simulation(WRF_GCm),while the third simulation(WRF_GCmbc)was driven by the bias-corrected GCm *** bias-corrected GCm data has an ERA5-based mean and interannual variance and long-term trends derived from the ensemble mean of 18 CmIP6 *** demonstrate that the WRF_GCmbc significantly reduced the root-mean-square errors(RmSEs)of the climatological mean of downscaled variables,including temperature,precipitation,snow,wind,relative humidity,and planetary boundary layer height by 50%–90%compared to the WRF_***,the RmSEs of interannual-tointerdecadal variances of downscaled variables were reduced by 30%–60%.Furthermore,the WRF_GCmbc better captured the annual cycle of the monsoon circulation and intraseasonal and day-to-day *** leading empirical orthogonal function(EOF)shows a monopole precipitation mode in the WRF_*** contrast,the WRF_GCmbc successfully reproduced the observed tri-pole mode of summer precipitation over eastern *** improvement could be attributed to a better-simulated location of the western North Pacific subtropical high in the WRF_GCmbc after GCm bias correction.

Growing evidences indicate that dysfunction of autophagy contributes to the disease pathogenesis of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis(AlS)and frontotemporal dementia(FTD),two neurodegenerative *** GGGGCC·GGCCCC repeat RNA expansion in chromosome 9 open reading frame 72(C9orf72)is the most genetic cause of both AlS and *** to the previous studies,GGGGCC·GGCCCC repeat undergoes the unconventional repeat-associated non-ATG translation,which produces dipeptide repeat(DPR)*** there is a growing understanding that C9orf72 DPRs have a strong ability to harm neurons and induce C9orf72-linked AlS/FTD,whether these DPRs can affect autophagy remains *** the present study,we find that poly-GR and poly-PR,two arginine-containing DPRs which display the most cytotoxic properties according to the previous studies,strongly inhibit starvation-induced ***,our data indicate that arginine-rich DPRs enhance the interaction between BCl2 and BECN1/Beclin 1 by inhibiting BCl2 phosphorylation,therefore they can impair autophagic clearance of neurodegenerative disease-associated protein aggregates under starvation condition in ***,our study not only highlights the role of C9orf72 DPR in autophagy dysfunction,but also provides novel insight that pharmacological intervention of autophagy using SW063058,a small molecule compound that can disrupt the interaction between BECN1 and BCl2,may reduce C9orf72 DPR-induced neurotoxicity.

Effect of radiative loss mechanisms on FIR thermometric parameters of Nd^(3+)-doped lithium tellurite glasses

Nd^(3+)-doped tellurite glasses are promising materials for thermometers based on the fluorescence intensity ratio(FIR)***,at high Nd^(3+)concentrations,energy transfer(ET)processes such as optical reabsorption and cross-relaxation can affect the Nd^(3+)emission,which has been little explored in the ***,the present work investigated the use of Nd^(3+)-doped tellurite glass(samples doped with Nd^(3+)at 0.2 mol%,0.5 mol%,2.0 mol%,and 4.0 mol%)in fluorescence thermometers,in the temperature range from 299 to 371 *** results indicate a strong dependence of the FIR parameters on the Nd^(3+)concentration,due to changes in the emission band profiles caused by optical reabsorption of the Nd^(3+)emissions and cross-relaxation processes.A decrease of the relative sensitivity of the ratio^(4)F_(5/2)→^(4)I_(9/2)/^(4)F_(3/2)→^(4)I_(9/2)is observed for samples doped with higher amounts of Nd^(3+).The maximum relative sensitivity at 299 K is 3.00%/K,which is the highest value among the reported Nd^(3+)ions.

Corrosion testing of X52 and X80 steels immersed in stimulated emulsions using a real petroleum sample

The aim of this study is to evaluate the internal corrosion process on X52 and X80 steels/real petroleum interfaces containing condensed hydrocarbon plus oilfield-produced water,which were subjected to stimulated emulsions using 50/50 vol ratio mixtures at 45℃,different hydrodynamic conditions,1 h,and 24 h.A washing process by using deionized water was proposed to simulate and identify the corrosiveness of the hydrocarbon phase after 24 h of exposure *** characterization by electrochemical impedance spectroscopy and the monitoring of the polarization curves indicated that X80 steel/oilfield-produced water interfaces were more susceptible to corrosion than X52 steel exposed to oilfield-produced *** combined speed rotation of 600 rpm using a magnetic stirrer+600 rpm using a rotating disk electrode decreased the corrosion rate on X52 *** stimulated emulsions made of hydrocarbon+oilfield-produced water and hydrocarbon+deionized water at 24 h increased the corrosion rate on X80 steel(0.34 mm/year and 0.43 mm/year,respectively),promoting the formation of erosion and pitting *** types of corrosion depended mainly on the physicochemical properties of the hydrocarbon,oilfield-produced water,exposure times,and hydrodynamic systems in which the hydrocarbon was studied.
