Efficacy evaluation of zirconia crown on primary molars with caries defects

Objective This study aimed to estimate the therapeutic effects of preformed metal crown (PMC) and prefabricated zirconia crowns (ZC) on decayed primary morals in children, as well as to analyze the possible influencing factors. Methods A retrospective cohort study was performed on the data of 192 patients (aged 3 to 8) in the Stomatological Department of Shenzhen Children’s Hospital from October 2021 to December 2021. The decayed mandibular first molars were selected and restored by vital-pulp therapy followed by PMC and ZC, including 96 cases (96 caries) in the PMC group and 96 cases (96 caries) in the ZC group. Oral clinical examination was performed at 3 months, 1 year, and 2 years after treatment, overwiewing the clinical therapeutic effects and periodontal status of PMC and ZC groups, as well as recording the crown integrity, gingival index (GI), probing bleeding index (BI), plaque index (PlI) and various prosthetic indices. Results No significance differences existed in the periodontal status of PMC and ZC groups at 3 months, 1 year, and 2 years after treatment (P>0.05). However, the GI, BI, and PlI in the PMC group were higher than those in the ZC group at 3 months, 1 year, and 2 years after treatment, and the difference was dramatically significant (P0.05), as well as in the GI, BI, and PlI, between the two groups (P>0.05). No significant differences existed in various prosthetic indices between genders after PMC restoration (P>0.05). The scores of girls in various prosthetic indices after ZC restoration were higher than those of boys (Plation analysis indicated an inverse correlation between age in the PMC group and the GI, BI, PlI, and FDI indices (P0.05). Conclusion PMC and ZC can be applied to restore deciduous molar caries. The periodontal status of deciduous teeth in ZC group was superior to that in the PMC group. The

Continuous-flow enzymatic synthesis of chiral lactones in a three-dimensional microfluidic reactor

Evaluating the influence of sarcopenia and myosteatosis on clinical outcomes in gastric cancer patients undergoing immune checkpoint inhibitor

The failure cause of a tinned copper wire clamp in marine atmosphere was studied systematically by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy,scanning electron microscopy with energy dispersive spectroscopy and electrochemical *** main components of the green rust on the surface of the damaged wire clamp are SnO_(2),CuO,Cu_(2)Cl(OH)_(3) and CuCO(OH)_(2).Much of green rust distributes at the platform edge along the axial direction on the crimp connection,and severe corrosion and corrosion pits occur at the platform edge zone along the axial *** enriching Cl-at the marine atmosphere and the existing O_(2) in air collectively enhance the corrosion process of the tin coating and the copper *** element model results show that the residual stress and strain of the tin coating are the largest at the platform edge along the axial direction on the crimp connection,and the corresponding electrode potential of the tin coating at this zone drops *** above results indicate that the residual strain increases the driving force of the corrosion electrochemical reactions and accelerates the corrosion rate and the pit corrosion of the tin coating at this zone.

Flavonoid extracts from chrysanthemum with appropriate anthocyanins turn blue when exposed to iron ions

Although some species that accumulate only cyanidin(Cy)in nature can produce blue flowers through iron ions,there has been no evidence of blue chrysanthemums being generated in this *** study revealed that flavonoid extracts from the ray florets of the chrysanthemum cultivar‘Wandai Fengguang’turned blue when exposed to Fe^(3+).Samples that could turn blue were labeled as CB(Cy-determined blue flowers),while samples that did not turn blue were labeled as CN(Cy-determined non-blue flowers).After a series of experiments,a stable screening system was established using flavonoid extracts containing NaAc buffer at pH 5.5 and a total anthocyanin concentration(TAC)of 30 μmol·l^(-1),and the addition of Fe^(3+)from 0 to 0.25 μmol·l^(-1)allowed for the selection of five CB samples from 39 chrysanthemum *** five CB samples exhibited flower color phenotypes that belonged to Cluster-I with redness(a*)values ranging from 29.03 to 45.99,yellowness(b*)values from-11.31 to 3.77,and brightness(l*)values from 29.07 to ***,the ratio of TAC to total luteolin concentration(TlC)was found to be a critical factor for distinguishing between CB and CN *** realize the desired blue hue in the flavonoid extracts with the participation of Fe^(3+),a TAC to TlC ratio of 2.25 and above is ***,the protoplasts and ray florets of CB samples that turned blue with the involvement of Fe^(2+)showed great potential for cultivating blue chrysanthemums through ferric-anthocyanin ***,this study reveals that blue flowers can be cultivated through the increase in the iron ion concentration,combined with the accumulation of Cy.

Single crystal growth and characterization of 166-type magnetic kagome metals

Kagome magnets were predicted to be a good platform to investigate correlated topology band structure, Chern quantum phase, and geometrical frustration due to their unique lattice geometry. Here we reported single crystal growth of 166-type kagome magnetic materials, including HfMn6Sn6, ZrMn6Sn6, GdMn6Sn6 and GdV6Sn6, by using the flux method with Sn as the flux. Among them, HfMn6Sn6 and ZrMn6Sn6 single crystals were grown for the first time. X-ray diffraction measurements reveal that all four samples crystallize in HfFe6Ge6-type hexagonal structure with space group P6/mmm. All samples show metallic behavior from temperature dependence of resistivity measurements, and the dominant carrier is hole, except for GdV6Sn6 which is electron dominated. All samples have magnetic order with different transition temperatures, HfMn6Sn6, ZrMn6Sn6 and GdV6Sn6 are antiferromagnetic with TN of 541 K, 466 K and 4 K respectively, while GdMn6Sn6 is ferrimagnetic with the critical temperature of about 470 K. This study will enrich the research platform of magnetic kagome materials and help explore the novel quantum phenomena in these interesting materials. Anneal-free ultra-low loss silicon nitride integrated photonics
