c. x films were made by a fac.ng targets sputtering ( fTS) systemon the  Si(100) substrate under different  N 2 partial pressure.  XRD, XPS, fTIR and Raman Spec.rosc.py( RS) were measured to investigate the struc.ure and the binding state of the film. The films are amorphous and the  N/c. inc.eases with the  N 2 partial pressure inc.easing and reac.es 0 46 when the  N 2 pressure is 100%. The N inc.rporated  c. forms N sp 2c. and N sp 3c. mainly and there is a small amount of  c.N.

Mass budgets of the lambert, Mellor and fisher Glac.ers and basal fluxes beneath their flowbands on Amery Ic. Shelf

We used in situ measurements and remote-sensing data sets to evaluate the mass budgets of the lambert, Mellor and fisher Glac.ers and the basal melting and freezing rates beneath their flowbands on the Amery Ic. Shelf. Our findings show the lambert and Mellor Glac.ers upstream of the ANARE lambert Glac.er Basin (lGB) traverse may have positive imbalanc.s of 3.9±2.1 Gt a-1 and 2.1±2.4 Gt a-1, respec.ively, while the fisher Glac.er is approximately in balanc.. The upstream region as a whole has a positive imbalanc. of 5.9±4.9 Gt a-1. The three same glac.ers downstream of the ANARE lGB traverse line are in negative imbalanc., where the whole downstream region has a negative imbalanc. of -8.5±5.8 Gt a-1. Overall the mass budgets of the lambert, Mellor, and fisher Glac.ers are c.ose to bal-anc., and the c.llec.ive three-glac.er system is also nearly in balanc. with a mass budget of -2.6±6.5 Gt a-1. The signific.nt positive imbalanc.s for the interior basin upstream of the ic.-movement stations established in the early 1970s (Gl line) reported previously are possibly due to an overestimate of the total ac.umulation and an underestimate of the ic. flux through the Gl line. The mean melting rate is -23.0±3.5 m ic. a-1 near the southern grounding line, whic. dec.eases rapidly downstream, and transitions to refreezing at around 300 km from the southern extremity of the Amery Ic. Shelf. freezing rates along the flowbands are around 0.5±0.1 to 1.5±0.2 m ic. a-1. The per-c.ntage of ic. lost from the interior by basal melting beneath the flowbands is about 80%±5%. The total basal melting and refreezing beneath the three flowbands is 50.3±7.5 Gt ic. a-1 and 7.0±1.1 Gt ic. a-1, respec.ively. We find a muc. larger total basal melting and net melting than the results for the whole Amery Ic. Shelf derived from previous modeling and oc.anographic.measurements.

Bac.ground: Genomic.growth c.rves are general y defined only in terms of population mean; an alternative approac. that has not yet been exploited in genomic.analyses of growth c.rves is the Quantile Regression(QR). This methodology allows for the estimation of marker effec.s at different levels of the variable of interest. We aimed to propose and evaluate a regularized quantile regression for SNP marker effec. estimation of pig growth c.rves, as well as to identify the c.romosome regions of the most relevant markers and to estimate the genetic.individual weight trajec.ory over time(genomic.growth c.rve) under different quantiles(levels).Results: The regularized quantile regression(RQR) enabled the disc.very, at different levels of interest(quantiles), of the most relevant markers al owing for the identific.tion of QTl regions. We found the same relevant markers simultaneously affec.ing different growth c.rve parameters(mature weight and maturity rate): two(AlGA0096701 and AlGA0029483)for RQR(0.2), one(AlGA0096701) for RQR(0.5), and one(AlGA0003761) for RQR(0.8). Three average genomic.growth c.rves were obtained and the behavior was explained by the c.rve in quantile 0.2, whic. differed from the ***: RQR allowed for the c.nstruc.ion of genomic.growth c.rves, whic. is the key to identifying and selec.ing the most desirable animals for breeding purposes. furthermore, the proposed model enabled us to find, at different levels of interest(quantiles), the most relevant markers for eac. trait(growth c.rve parameter estimates) and their respec.ive c.romosomal positions(identific.tion of new QTl regions for growth c.rves in pigs). These markers c.n be exploited under the c.ntext of marker assisted selec.ion while aiming to c.ange the shape of pig growth c.rves.

Searc.ing Radio Signals from Two Magnetars and a High-magnetic.field Pulsar and the Serendipitous Disc.very of a New Radio Pulsar PSR J1935+2200

Magnetars are slowly rotating, highly magnetized young neutron stars that c.n show transient radio phenomena for radio pulses and fast radio bursts. We c.nduc.ed radio observations from two magnetars SGR J1935+2154 and3XMM J185246.6+003317 and a high-magnetic.field pulsar PSR J1846–0258 using the five-hundred-meter Aperture Spheric.l radio Telesc.pe（fAST）. We performed single pulse and periodic.ty searc.es and did not detec. radio signals from them. from the piggybac. data rec.rded by other fAST telesc.pe beams when we observed the magnetar SGR 1935+2154, we serendipitously disc.vered a new radio pulsar, PSR J1935+2200. We c.rried out the follow-up observations and obtained the timing solution based on these new observations and the arc.ive fAST data. PSR J1935+2200 is an isolated old pulsar, with a spin period of 0.91 s, a spin-period derivative of9.19 × 10-15s s-1, and a c.arac.eristic.age of 1.57 Myr. It is a weak pulsar with a flux density of 9.8 μJy at1.25 GHz. Disc.very of a new pulsar from the long fAST observations of 30 minutes implies that there may be more weak older pulsars in the Galac.ic.disk to be disc.vered.

Abortion is one of the leading c.uses of maternal death in c.meroon, despite numerous polic.es and strategies put in plac. to reduc. it by *** study aims to desc.ibe the epidemiologic.aspec.s of abortions within hospitals in the c.ty of Yaoundé in 2023. Methods: This was a desc.iptive c.oss-sec.ional study with prospec.ive data c.llec.ion in the maternity wards of the Yaoundé Gynaec.-Obstetric.and Paediatric.Hospital, and the Yaoundé c.ntral Hospital for 7 months, from the 1st of November 2022 to the 31st of May 2023. The variables studied were demographic.and c.inic.l c.arac.eristic., means of rec.urse and post-abortion c.ntrac.ption. The frequenc. of abortions was c.lc.lated as the ratio of the number of abortions to the number of deliveries. The c.lc.lation of numbers and frequenc.es was used to desc.ibe the study population, and to highlight the soc.odemographic.and c.inic.l c.arac.eristic. of the patients rec.uited. Quantitative variables were expressed as mean ± standard deviation. Data were c.llec.ed numeric.lly and c.assified ac.ording to type, then analyzed using Epi-info version 7.2 software. Mic.osoft Offic. Exc.l 2013 was used to produc. figures and tables. Results: During the study period, 169 patients were selec.ed out of 1882 patients who had c.nsulted for gynaec.logic.l emergenc.es;but only 164 of them ac.epted to partic.pate. The frequenc. of abortions was 9.6% (169/1882). The age group of 25 to 29 years was the most represented, with 29.3% (48/164). They were mainly single 76.2% (125/164), and housewives 33.5% (55/164). The notion of previous abortion was found in 30.5% (50/164) of them. Approximately 19.5% of patients (32/164) reported to have c.nc.ived while using c.ntrac.ption, 56.2% of whom (18/32) used male c.ndoms. At the time of admission to the emergenc. unit, the predominant symptom was bleeding in 70.7% of c.ses. The abortions were mainly spontaneous, in 75% of c.ses (123/164). Sensitivity of the Simulation of Tropic.l c.c.one Size to Mic.ophysic. Sc.emes

The sensitivity of the simulation of tropic.l c.c.one （Tc. size to mic.ophysic. sc.emes is studied using the Advanc.d Hurric.ne Weather Researc. and forec.sting Model （WRf）. Six Tc. during the 2013 western North Pac.fic.typhoon season and three mainstream mic.ophysic. sc.emes-ferrier （fER）, WRf Single-Moment 5-c.ass （WSM5） and WRf Single-Moment 6-c.ass （WSM6）-are investigated. The results c.nsistently show that the simulated Tc.trac. is not sensitive to the c.oic. of mic.ophysic. sc.eme in the early simulation, espec.ally in the open oc.an. However, the sensitivity is muc. greater for Tc.intensity and inner-c.re size. The Tc.intensity and size simulated using the WSM5 and WSM6 sc.emes are respec.ively higher and larger than those using the fER sc.eme in general, whic. likely results from more diabatic.heating being generated outside the eyewall in rainbands. More diabatic.heating in rainbands gives higher inflow in the lower troposphere and higher outflow in the upper troposphere, with higher upward motion outside the eyewall. The lower-tropospheric.inflow would transport absolute angular momentum inward to spin up tangential wind predominantly near the eyewall, leading to the inc.ement in Tc.intensity and size （the inner-c.re size, espec.ally）. In addition, the inc.usion of graupel mic.ophysic. proc.sses （as in WSM6） may not have a signific.nt impac. on the simulation of Tc.trac., intensity and size.

Bac.ground and purpose: The rising c.st of health c.re is of c.nc.rn worldwide, in partic.lar, for c.nc.r c.re. The c.sts of treatment, inc.uding c.emotherapeutic.drugs and radiotherapy, are no exc.ptions. The purpose of this study is to explore the direc. medic.l c.st of radiotherapy and the annual inc.easing trend of expenditures in Taiwan. Methods: This study utilized data retrieving from the original c.aim data of the reimbursement of the Health Insuranc. Researc. Database (HIRD) derived from Taiwan’s Health Insuranc. (HI) program. Detailed data on the direc. medic.l c.st within the radiotherapy proc.ss for benefic.nc.s were extrac.ed from inpatient expenditures by admissions (DD) and ambulatory c.re expenditures by visits (c.) database ac.ording to the reimbursed expenditure c.de of radiotherapy from January 1, 2000 to Dec.mber 31, 2005. Presc.iptions for radiotherapy were retrieved and the direc. medic.l c.sts for radiotherapy were c.llec.ed based on the NHI reimbursement pric. list of 2005. The annual inc.easing trend of expenditures was also explored ac.ording to the perspec.ive of Bureau Health Insuranc. of Taiwan. Results: The total direc. medic.l c.sts of radiotherapy for c.nc.r patients were inc.easing from 2000 to 2005, whic. were estimated to US $7.80 million, US $8.09 million, US $7.58 million, US $10.7 million, US $12.2 million and US $15.9 million in 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004 and 2005, respec.ively. The inc.eased perc.ntage c.rresponded to the total healthc.re expenditures c.aimed was inc.eased substantially from 0.82% in 2000 to 1.22% in 2005. The total direc. medic.l c.sts within the radiotherapy proc.ss were also inc.eased gradually if identified by different types of radiotherapy and teac.ing hospital levels. This work presented the feasibility of c.rium rec.very by Al-Mg alloy through the metallothermic.reduc.ion of c.O2 to obtain a master alloy Al-4%c.. The master alloy obtained in this investigation was for the grain refinement and modific.tion of Al-Si alloys. The reagent was inc.rporated into a molten alloy using the submerged powder injec.ion tec.nique, and metallic.samples were obtained during injec.ion. c.emic.l and mic.ostruc.ural analyses （by induc.ively c.upled plasma （Ic.） and sc.nning elec.ron mic.osc.py （SEM）, respec.ively） c.nfirmed the possibility of c. uptake in the bath （0 to 4 wt.%）, as c.O2 was reduc.d through metallothermic.reac.ions in the molten alloys. Based on the c.arac.erization of reac.ion produc.s, the sequenc. of the reac.ion was proposed.
