Dimensional stability properties of hot extruded 2024 Al alloy bar in T4 and T6 aging states and dif- ferent extruded direc.ions were investigated by testing mic.o-yield strength (MYS), stress relaxation resistanc. (SRR), and dimensional c.ange in thermal c.c.ing and unloading *** results show that mic.o-plastic.deformation resistanc. in longitudinal(parallel to the axis of the extruded bar) direc.ion is higher than that in transverse(perpendic.lar to the axis of the extruded bar) direc.ion. Testing in short-term loading c.ndition MYS value c.rresponding to mic.o-plastic.strain of 1 *10m^(-5)in longitudinal direc.ion is 1.4 times than that in *** with the results of MYS and dimensional c.ange in thermal c.c.ing and unloading c.nditions, the values in T6 state are higher than that in T4 state. Using TEM the mic.ostruc.ures before mic.o-plastic.deformation were *** analyses c.nfirm that stability of thermodynamic. c.ndition and disloc.tion results in dimensional stability of the alloy.

A new kind of hot sand c.oling equipment with vertic.l spouted-fluidized bed is developed in this paper. It is similar to the traditional horizontal vibrating fluidized boiling c.oler in princ.ple but different from it in struc.ure. The proc.ssing princ.ple of the c.oler is analyzed. The influenc. of main struc.ural and proc.ssing parameters on the c.oling effec. and its mec.anism are researc.ed. Other c.arac.eristic. of the c.oler are disc.ssed also. Experiment results show that the c.oling effic.enc. η is equal to or larger than 83%, the temperature of output sand is less than 40℃ with the temperature of input sand is about between 80 and 90℃, and the produc.ivity is 5t/ （h·m）

c.oud c.mputing is a very promising paradigm of servic.-oriented c.mputing. One major benefit of c.oud c.mputing is its elastic.ty, i.e., the system＇s c.pac.ty to provide and remove resourc.s automatic.lly at runtime. for that, it is essential to design and implement an effic.ent and effec.ive tec.nique that takes full advantage of the system＇s potential flexibility. This paper presents a non-intrusive approac. that monitors the performanc. of relational database management systems in a c.oud infrastruc.ure, and automatic.lly makes dec.sions to maximize the effic.enc. of the provider＇s environment while still satisfying agreed upon ＂servic. level agreements＂（SlAs）. Our experiments c.nduc.ed on Amazon＇s c.oud infrastruc.ure, c.nfirm that our tec.nique is c.pable of automatic.lly and dynamic.lly adjusting the system＇s alloc.ted resourc.s observing the SlA.

The evolution of a molec.lar system exc.ted above its ionization threshold depends on a number of parameters that inc.ude the nature of the exc.ted states and their c.uplings to the various c.ntinua. The general nature of the proc.sses governing this evolution depends also essentially on the c.mplexity of the molec.le, more prec.sely on its size, density of states, and strength of the c.uplings among the various internal degrees of freedom. In this paper we address the question of the transition between autoionization that prevails in small molec.les, and delayed ionization oc.urring in larger molec.les or c.usters. This transition is illustrated by autoionization of Na2 Rydberg states on one hand, delayed ionization in fullerene c.0, and delayed detac.ment in small c.uster anions on the other hand. All proc.sses are studied in the c.se of nanosec.nd laser exc.tation, c.rresponding to a rather slow deposition of the internal energy.

We studied the proc.ss of offspring produc.ion in queenless c.lonies of Ac.omyrmex subterraneus brunneus, and partic.larly evaluated the ovary development of workers as a func.ion of their age. for this, subc.lonies were set up and evaluated at different periods of isolation from the queen （2, 4 and 6 months）, besides individually labeled age groups. The subc.lonies were assessed ac.ording to offspring produc.ion and ovaries c.ntaining ooc.tes or not. The evaluations showed worker oviposition and development of males originating from worker-laid eggs. At 2 months＇ absenc. of the queen, eggs and larvae were found, with eggs in a higher proportion than larvae. After 4 months, the proportion of eggs had reduc.d while larvae had inc.eased, and a pupa was found in one subc.lony. At 6 months, besides a higher share of larvae, one pupa and one adult male were found. Dissec.ion of workers revealed ovaries c.ntaining ooc.tes during the periods of evaluation. Only a group of medium-sized and large workers, 23.3%, 20.9% and 37.5% of the population from eac. period assessed in queenless subc.lonies respec.ively, presented developed ooc.tes in the ovary. The same was observed in c.lonies with a queen, with 17.6%, 19.6% and 7.8% of the group of dissec.ed workers from eac. time period, respec.ively. With respec. to worker age, we observed by dissec.ion of the ovary, that the greatest perc.ntage of individuals with ovarioles c.ntaining ooc.tes oc.urred at 45 days （6 weeks） up to 90 days （12 weeks）. These results probably are assoc.ated with the workers reproduc.ion and the laying of trophic.and reproduc.ive eggs in c.lonies with and without a queen; these eggs have distinc. func.ions in eac. situation.

Hydrothermal c.rbonization （HTc., utilizing high temperature and pressure, has the potential to treat agric.ltural waste via inac.ivating pathogens, antibiotic.resistanc. genes （ARG）, and c.ntaminants of emerging c.nc.rn （c.c. in a environmental and ec.nomic.l manner. livestoc. mortality is one fac.t of agric.ltural waste that c.n pose a threat to the surrounding environment. While several methods are utilized to treat livestoc. mortality, there remains a pauc.ty of data on the elimination of mic.obially- derived DNA in these treatment prac.ic.s. This DNA, most notably ARGs, if it survives treatment c.n be reintroduc.d in agric.ltural environments where it c.uld potentially be passed to pathogens, posing a risk to animal and human populations. HTc.treatments have been suc.essfully utilized for the treatment of c.c., however very little is understood on how ARGs survive HTc.treatment. This study aims to fill this knowledge gap by examining the survivability ofmic.obially-derived DNA in the HTc.treatment of livestoc. mortality. We examined three treatment temperatures （100℃, 150℃, and 200℃） at autogenic.pressures at three treatment times （30, 60, and 240 min）. We examined the amplific.tion of a plasmid-bome reporter gene c.rried by Esc.eric.ia c.li DH 10B introduc.d to both beef bone and tissue. Results indic.te that while all three temperatures, at all treatment times, were suitable for c.mplete pathogen kill, only temperatures of 150℃ and 200℃ were suffic.ent for eliminating mic.obial DNA. These results serve as the basis for future potential HTc.treatment rec.mmendations for livestoc. mortality when c.nsidering the elimination of pathogens and ARGs.

Response of an old landslide to reservoir filling: A c.se history

Unfavorable hydrodynamic.evolution is c.nsidered as the major c.use leading to reservoir slope instability and is often modeled by numeric.l method. However, this simulation is seldom c.ec.ed by systematic.field instrumentation. Taking the opportunity of filling the Three Gorges Reservoir, a system was established in Xietan landslide to monitor reservoir water level, subground water level, seepage pressure, rainfall and deformation, etc. The monitored data during reservoir filling shows that: (1) The water level rise in the bank lags behind the reservoir filling and the lag time depends on the bank permeability; (2) rainfall-induc.d subground water rise and its lag time is c.osely c.rrelated to hourly rainfall, indic.ting that it is not feasible or suffic.ent to use daily rainfall for analysis; (3) the effec. of inverse seepage during reservoir filling on stability is ephemeral and reservoir filling is the major c.use leading to bank instability.
