The aim of this study was to investigate the oxidation reactivity and behavior of exhaust particulate matter(PM)from diesel *** samples from two diesel engines(1K,cY4102)with different emission levels were collected by a thermophoretic system and a quartz *** oxidation reactivity,oxidation behaviors,and physicochemical properties of the PM samples were analyzed using thermogravimetric analysis(TGA),high-resolution transmission electron microscopy(HRTEM),Fourier-transform infrared spectrometry(FTIR),and Raman *** results showed that there was a great difference in the oxidation reactivity of soot particles emitted by the two different diesel engines.A qualitative analysis of the factors influencing oxidation reactivity showed that the nanostructure,degree of graphitization,and relative concentration of aliphatic c—H functional groups were the most important factors,whereas no significant correlation was found between the primary particle size and activation energy of the diesel *** on the oxidation behavior analysis,the diesel soot particles exhibited both internal and surface oxidation modes during the oxidation *** oxidation was dominant during the initial stage,and as oxidation progressed,the mode gradually changed to internal *** oxidation mode of soot particles from the 1K engine was significantly higher than that of cY4102.

The effectiveness of current control measures against Aedes mosquitoes remains low, resulting in persistent epidemics in urban areas. The emergence of resistant mosquito populations to chemical insecticides highlights the need for novel, environmentally friendly, cost-effective control strategies. This study explored the potential of environmental bacterial isolates to biocontrol wild Aedes larvae. Initially, we collected bacterial samples from infectious masses of Aedes fluviatilis larvae. The isolated bacteria were identified using biochemical, enzymatic, and molecular methods, including 16S rRNA sequencing and MAlDI-TOF. Previously, Aeromonas hydrophila and Bacillus thuringiensis isolated from these infectious masses showed limited Aedes larval inhibition. consequently, we screened additional environmental isolates from the bacteriotheque. Six isolates previously identified were tested: chromobacterium violaceum, Enterobacter cloacae, Bacillus cereus, Bacillus sphaericus, and two strains of Bacillus thuringiensis israelensis. Among these strains, B. thuringiensis and c. violaceum exhibited significant inhibitory activities against wild Aedes larvae. Bacillus thuringiensis cultures grown under daylight conditions showed a slight ability to inhibit Aedes larvae. The potential of B. thuringiensis and c. violaceum strains studied, along with optimized culture growth conditions, will be further investigated to develop bioinsecticide products to provide safer and more sustainable alternatives for controlling larvae of Aedes mosquitoes.

The electrocatalytic oxidation of biomass-derived furfural(FF)feedstocks into 2-furoic acid(FA)holds immense industrial potential in optics,cosmetics,polymers,and ***,we fabricated co O/Ni O/nickel foam(NF)and cu_(2)O/Ni O/NF electrodes via in situ pulsed laser irradiation in liquids(PlIl)for the bifunctional electrocatalysis of oxygen evolution reaction(OER)and furfural oxidation reaction(FOR),*** oxidation of NF surface to NiO and deposition of coO and/or cu_(2)O on NF during PlIl offer distinct advantages for enhancing both the OER and ***/NiO/NF electrocatalyst provides a consistently low overpotential of~359 m V(OER)at 10 m A/cm^(2),achieving the maximum FA yield(~16.37 m M)with 61.5%selectivity,79.5%carbon balance,and a remarkable Faradaic efficiency of~90.1%during 2 h of FOR at 1.43 V(*** hydrogen electrode).Mechanistic pathway via in situ electrochemical-Raman spectroscopy on coO/NiO/NF reveals the involvement of phase transition intermediates(NiOOH and coOOH)as surface-active centers during electrochemical *** carbonyl carbon in FF is attacked by hydroxyl groups to form unstable hydrates that subsequently undergo further oxidation to yield FA *** method holds promise for large-scale applications,enabling simultaneous production of renewable building materials and fuel.

Introduction: Antenatal care (ANc) contributes to the reduction of maternal and neonatal morbidity and mortality. The study aimed to investigate the determinants of the low proportion of pregnant women seen for first antenatal care in the first trimester of pregnancy at the urban medical center of Koudougou, Burkina Faso. Materials and Methods: This was a cross-sectional study with data collection from June 08 to August 18, 2021. It involved a sample of 302 participants including 280 pregnant women and 22 maternity providers. Semi-structured individual interviews, non-participant observation, and a literature review were used. Results: Pregnant women age 20 and over, knowledge of the date of their last menstrual period, and knowledge of the antenatal care calendar were associated with coming into contact (1) with Antenatal care in the first trimester of pregnancy. In addition, there was a lack of availability of antenatal care services, inadequate reception of clients, and shortages of health products. conclusion: There is a need to revisit strategies for communicating with women about ANc, reorganizing ANc services, and improving ANc services.

Background Since the late 1990s, bigheaded carps(largely silver carp [Hypophthalmichthys molitrix] but also bighead carp [H. nobilis]) have established throughout the lower Mississippi River basin. Using previously studied oxbow lakes in the lower White River basin, Arkansas, we compared current(2017, “post-carp” establishment) fish assemblages to historical(2002, “pre-carp” establishment) fish assemblages. Fish assemblages were comprehensively assessed using multiple gears, including boat electrofishing, mini-fyke nets, and experimental small-mesh gill *** T-tests suggested that fish assemblage indices of richness, diversity, evenness, and dominance were often greater(P carp period as reflected by boat electrofishing and experimental gill nets. However, all indices were generally similar(P > 0.05) between the pre-carp and post-carp period with fish assemblages depicted using mini-fyke nets. Nonmetric multidimensional scaling analyses indicated that fish assemblages differed structurally between pre-carp and post-carp periods. Assemblage differences were linked to both small and large abundance changes for more than 20 species. Abundances of gizzard shad(Dorosoma cepedianum), emerald shiner(Notropis atherinoides), pugnose minnow(Opsopoeodus emiliae), crappies(Pomoxis spp.), bluegill(lepomis macrochirus), orangespotted sunfish(l. humilis), and yellow bass(Morone mississippiensis) declined between the pre-carp and postcarp periods. conversely, abundances of weed shiner(N. texanus), pallid shiner(Hybopsis amnis), longear sunfish(l. megalotis), buffalofishes(Ictiobus spp.), and gars(lepisosteus spp.) generally increased during the same *** Although not possible to conclude assemblage shifts were entirely related to bigheaded carps due to the absence of an appropriate reference system where carps did not establish, the wide establishment of these carps is one of the most pervasive changes to have occurred in the lower White

The universal cluster expansion technique was used in this study to determine the binary phase diagrams for the transition metal carbonate precursors McO3(M:Mn,Ni,co).The use of mixed cathode materials in lithium-ion batteries such as NMc(Ni,Mn and co)formulations,is a strategic approach to optimize performance,enhance safety and address cost and environmental considerations in the rapidly evolving field of energy *** study focuses on the cost issue related to lithium ion batteries by investigating the manganese rich NMc since manganese is more abundant and *** doped MncO3 with nickel and doped MncO3 with cobalt then ran cluster expansion calculations to generate binary *** binary phase diagrams generated indicated that doping MncO3 with nickel favours the Mn-rich side,while doping MncO3 with cobalt favours 50%Mn-rich and 50%*** further extracted the most stable structures from both binary diagrams and determined their electronic,mechanical and vibrational stabilities using DFT(density functional theory)calculations within the lDA(local gradient approximation)with Hubbard parameter(U).The electronic properties revealed that both materials are semiconductors due to their narrow energy band gap obtained while the mechanical properties showed that structures are mechanically stable since their necessary conditions for trigonal and triclinic systems were satisfied.

Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons(PAHs),PANHs,and peptoids dust spectral calculations from the interstellar medium(ISM)are important for dust observations and *** goal is to calculate the radiation spectrum of spherical PAHs dust clusters in a vacuum containing ionized and applied in the presence of an electric *** propose a new simple computational model to calculate the size of three-dimensional spherical dust clusters formed by different initial dust *** the Vienna Ab-initio Simulation Package code,the density functional theory with the generalized approximation was used to calculate the electron density gradient and obtain the radiation spectrum of *** the radius of spherical dust clusters is~[0.009-0.042]μm,the dust radiation spectrum agrees well with the Z=0.02 mMMP stellar spectra,and the PAHs radiation spectrum of NGc 4676 at wavelengths of(0-5]μm and(5-10]μm,*** the ionized state,the N-PAH,c_(10)H_(9)N,2(c_(4)H_(4))^(1+),and peptoids 4(cHON),(c_(8)H_(10)N_(2)O_(5))^(1+)dust clusters at 3.3μm,while the 2(c_(22)H_(21)N_(3)O_(2))^(1+),4(cHON)dust clusters at 5.2μm have obvious *** is a characteristic of part of PAHs and peptoids clusters radiation at the nearinfrared wavelength of 2μ***,especially after applying an electric field to the dust,the emission spectrum of the dust increases significantly in the radiation wavelength range[3-10]μ***,the dust clusters of PAHs,PANHs,and peptoids of the radius size~[0.009-0.042]μm are likely to exist in the ISM.
