The aim of this study is to examine the effects of l.cal.curvature and el.stic wal. effects of an isothermal.hot wal. for the purpose of jet impingement cool.ng *** el.ment method was used with *** important parametric effects such as Re number(between 100 and 700),Ha number(between 0 and 20),el.sticity(between 104 and 109),curvature of the surface(el.iptic,radius ratio between 1 and 0.25) and nanoparticl. vol.me fraction(between 0 and 0.05) on the cool.ng performance were investigated *** resul.s showed that the average Nu number enhances for higher Hartmann number,higher val.es of el.stic modul.s of partl. fl.xibl. wal. and higher nanoparticl. vol.me *** the magnetic fiel. is imposed at the highest strength,there is an increase of3.85% in the average Nu for the curved el.stic wal. whereas it is 89.22% for the hot part above it,which is due to the vortex suppression *** incl.sion in the base fl.id improves the heat transfer rate by about 27.6% in the absence of magnetic fiel. whereas it is 20.5% under the effects of magnetic fiel. at Ha=*** effects become important for higher Re numbers and at Re=700,there is 14.11% variation in the average Nu between the cases with the l.west and highest radius *** el.stic wal. effects on the heat transfer are reduced with the increased curvature of the bottom wal..

In the present work,effects of various heat transfer fl.ids on the discharging performance of a phase change material.PCM) incl.ded cyl.ndrical.container are numerical.y assessed during forced *** heat transfer fl.id air,hydrogen,water and nanofl.id with al.mina particl.s are used and the the geometric variation of the PCM embedded region is al.o *** finite el.ment method is used as the *** features of heat exchange with various phases are expl.red for different heat transfer fl.id types,Reynol.s number(between 100 and 300) and PCM embedded region geometric variation(h_(x)between 0.01 d_(1) and 0.65 d_(1),hybetween 0.1 h_(1) and 0.4 h_(1)).It is observed that discharging time is significantl. infl.enced by the heat transfer fl.id type whil. ful. phase transition time for air is obtained as more than 10 times when hydrogen is util.zed as heat transfer *** best performance is achieved with *** the PCM integrated region size is reduced,discharging time is general.y reduced whil. due to the form of the geometry,vortex formation is establ.shed in the PCM *** resul.s in performance degeneration at the highest radius and height of the inner *** time increases by about 12% when radius of the inner cyl.nder is increased from h_(x)=0.35 d_(1) to h_(x)=0.45 d_(1).Dynamic features of PCM temperature and l.quid fraction are affected with Reynol.s number whil. discharging time is reduced by about 48% when configurations with the l.west and highest Reynol.s number are compared.

本文研究了在层流状态下纳米流体强制对流时三角形弹性壁通气腔内的相变过程动力学。采用有限元方法探讨了雷诺数(Re)、柯西数(Ca)和腔口尺寸对流场和相变动力学的影响。研究发现,Re、Ca和腔口尺寸的变化对进气道下流动再循环和相变动力学有一定的影响。当Re从100增加到200时,相变时间(TF)先缩短后延长。在Re=100时,混合纳米流体相变速度快,相变时间降低约26%。当Ca为最大值时,相变时间减少了12.5%。腔口尺寸对相变有负面影响,而腔口尺寸的增大使相变时间增加了19%。

Metabol.c syndrome in men and women with upper or l.wer types of body fat distribution

The purpose of the study was to determine the preval.nce of metabol.c syndrome as a cl.ster of risk factors for atheroscl.rotic cardiovascul.r disease and type 2 diabetes mel.itus and its individual.components in groups of men and women with primary obesity having different types of fat distribution. The study invol.ed 142 men and 185 women with primary al.mentary-constitutional.obesity. The study participants were divided into 2 groups depending on waist-to-hip ratio val.e. Standardized criteria were used to determine the preval.nce of metabol.c syndrome and its individual.components among the examined men and women. The ratios of the number of participants with l.wer or upper type of fat distribution in men and women were 28:114 and 84:101, respectivel.. Hence the frequency of l.wer type of fat distribution was 19.7% in men and 45.4% in women (p l.wer type of body fat distribution as compared to upper type were characterized by a l.wer preval.nce of abdominal.obesity (1.9 times), hypertrigl.ceridemia (1.4 times), l.w HDl.C (1.6 times), and hypertension (2 times). The frequency of metabol.c syndrome in men with l.wer type of fat distribution was l.wer by 2.7 times than that of men with upper type of fat distribution. Women with l.wer type of fat distribution as compared to upper type had a l.wer preval.nce of abdominal.obesity (1.2 times), hypertrigl.ceridemia (1.8 times), l.w HDl.C (1.2-fol.), and hypertension (in 1.5 times). The frequency of metabol.c syndrome in women with l.wer type of fat distribution was l.wer by 1.9 times than that of women with upper type of fat distribution. Both men and women in the groups with l.wer type of fat distribution were missing such a component of metabol.c syndrome as hypergl.cemia i.e. they had the minimal.risk of type 2 diabetes mel.itus.

Background: Hepatocel.ul.r carcinoma is the most common innate l.ver tumor. Due to improved surgical.techniques, even extended resections are feasibl., and more patients can be treated with curative intent. As the l.ver is the central.metabol.c organ, preoperative metabol.c assessment is crucial.for risk stratification. Sarcopenia, obesity and sarcopenic obesity characterize body composition and metabol.c status. Here we present the impact of body composition on survival.after l.ver resection in patients with hepatocel.ul.r carcinoma. Methods: A retrospective database anal.sis of 70 patients who were assigned for l.ver resection due to hepatocel.ul.r carcinoma was conducted. For assessment of sarcopenia and obesity, skel.tal.muscl. surface area was measured at l.mbar vertebra 3 l.vel.l.) in preoperative four-phase contrast enhanced abdominal.CT scans, and l. muscl. index and body fat percentage were cal.ul.ted. Resul.s: Univariate anal.sis comparing the survival.curves using the score test demonstrated superior postoperative overal. survival.for sarcopenic( P = 0.035) and sarcopenic obese( P = 0.048) patients as wel. as a trend favoring obese( P = 0.130) subjects. Whereas mul.ivariate anal.sis coul. not identify significant difference in postoperative survival.regarding sarcopenia, obesity or sarcopenic obesity. Onl. l.rge tumor size, mul.ifocal.disease and mal. gender were risk factors for l.ng-term survival. Concl.sions: Sarcopenia, obesity and sarcopenic obesity are indeed no risk factors for poor postoperative survival.in this study. Our data do not support the eval.ation of sarcopenia, obesity and sarcopenic obesity before l.ver resection in hepatocel.ul.r carcinoma patients.

Objective: To investigate whether piperl.ngumine can sensitize prostate cancer cel.s to tumor necrosis factor-rel.ted apoptosisinducing l.gand(TRAIl. and trigger apoptosis in prostate cel.s. Methods: Human prostate cancer cel. l.nes PC3, l.Ca P, and VCa P were cul.ured with piperl.ngumine and TRAIl. Then, cel. prol.feration, migration, caspase activation, apoptotic protein expressions, and death receptor expressions were ***: Piperl.ngumine inhibited cel. prol.feration at l.w doses(l.ne and in combination with TRAIl.25 ng/m l., induced apoptosis, and suppressed cycl.oxygenase activation. Additional.y, piperl.ngumine induced expression of death receptors which potentiated TRAIl.induced apoptosis in cancer cel.s but did not affect decoy receptors. Piperl.ngumine al.o downregul.ted tumor cel.-survival.pathways, inhibited col.ny formation and migration of cancer cel.s al.ne or in combination with TRAIl. The combination of piperl.ngumine with TRAIl.was found to be synergistic. Concl.sions: Our findings indicate that piperl.ngumine can sensitize cancer cel.s to TRAIl.through the upregul.tion of death receptors and can trigger apoptosis with the downregul.tion of antiapoptotic proteins.
