Expression analysis of OsSERK,OsLEC1 and OsWOX4 genes in rice(Oryza sativa L.)callus during somatic embryo development

Somatic embryogenesis is an asexual reproduction process that occurs in many plant species,including *** process contains several totipotency markers such as Somatic Embryogenesis Receptor-like Kinase(SERK),Leafy Cotyledon1(LEC1)and WUSCHEL-Related Homeobox4(WOX4)and also a helpful model for embryo development and clones and ***,we report the gene expression during somatic embryo development correlates with regeneration frequency in 14 Javanica rice(pigmented and non-pigmented)using modified N6 media supplemented with Kinetin(2.0 mg/L)and NAA(1.0 mg/L).Although there have been advances in understanding the genetic basis of somatic embryogenesis in other varieties,rice is still unexplored,especially during somatic embryo ***,for the formation of callus induction from immature embryos,2,4-D(2.0 mg/L,3.0 mg/L)was *** study analysed the gene expression of OsSERK,OsWOX4 and OsLEC1 genes through RT-PCR *** expression of the OsLEC1 gene indicates that their function may correlate in the in vitro with the high response of rice after transfer to regeneration *** study found that rice varieties of pigmented rice(MS Pendek and Gogoniti II)and non-pigmented rice(Pandan Ungu)showed high regeneration frequency,showing higher OsLEC1 expression than other varieties because OsLEC1 promotes the maturation of somatic embryos in plant regeneration on day ***,the contrast with Genjah nganjuk may be effective because of other regulatory ***-PCR analysis showed OsSERK had less expression level than OsLEC1 and OsWOX4 in the varieties,which correlate with the percentage of plant regeneration,but not for Gogoniti *** conclusion,the higher percentage of plant regeneration correlates with the higher expression level of OsLEC1 at day 14 of media regeneration of rice.

Understanding the mechanical properties of bionanofilms is important in terms of identifying their *** primary focus of this study is to examine the effect of water vapor annealed silk fibroin on the indentation modulus and hardness of graphene oxide-silk fibroin(GO-SF)bionanofilms through nanoindentation experiments and finite element analysis(FEA).The GO-SF bionanofilms were fabricated using the layer-by-layer *** water vapor annealing process was employed to enhance the interfacial properties between the GO and SF layers,and the mechanical properties of the GO-SF bionanofilms were found to be affected by this *** employing water vapor annealing,the indentation modulus and hardness of the GO-SF bionanofilms can be ***,the FEA models of the GO-SF bionanofilms were developed to simulate the details of the mechanical behaviors of the GO-SF *** difference in the stress and strain distribution inside the GO-SF bionanofilms before and after annealing was *** addition,the load-displacement curves that were obtained by the developed FEA model conformed well with the results from the nanoindentation *** summary,this study presents the mechanism of improving the indentation modulus and hardness of the GO-SF bionanofilms through the water vapor annealing process,which is established with the FEA simulation models.

Cholecystectomy increases the risk of metabolic syndrome in the Korean population:a longitudinal cohort study

Background:Cholecystectomy is a common surgical procedure to treat symptomatic gallstones;however,the long-term outcomes after cholecystectomy are ***,we aimed to investigate whether incident metabolic syndrome(MetS)is associated with cholecystectomy through a large,population-based,longitudinal ***:Subjects aged≥20 years who underwent cholecystectomy from 2010 to 2014(n=76,485)and controls(n=76,485),matched for age and sex,were identified from the Korean National Health Insurance *** proportional hazards analyses were performed to evaluate the association between cases and incident MetS,and hazard ratios and 95% confidence intervals(CIs)were ***:A total of 152,970 patients were *** age was 52.47±12.76 years,and 50.65% of participants were *** the follow-up period,there were 38,979(25.48%)newly diagnosed MetS cases in the study *** risk of MetS in the cholecystectomy group was approximately 20% higher than that in the control group[adjusted odds ratio(OR),1.20;95%CI:1.17-1.23].In the fully adjusted models,the corresponding ORs for new-onset high waist circumference(WC),low high-density lipoprotein cholesterol(HDL-C)levels,high triglycerides(TG)levels,high blood pressure(BP),and high blood glucose levels were 1.16(1.13-1.19),1.19(1.16-1.22),1.25(1.22-1.28),1.27(1.23-1.31),and 1.21(1.18-1.24),*** was an independent risk factor of incident MetS,after adjusting for potential confounding *** the subgroup analyses,the cholecystectomy group had a higher risk of MetS than the control group in subjects without hypertension or dyslipidemia,***:In this large,population-based study,cholecystectomy was associated with an increased risk of developing MetS,independent of other confounding ***,careful monitoring of metabolic variables and long-term follow-up are required to evaluate MetS risk after cholecystectomy.

Automatic detection of teeth and dental treatment patterns on dental panoramic radiographs using deep neural networks

Disaster victim identification issues are especially critical and urgent after a large-scale *** aim of this study was to suggest an automatic detection of natural teeth and dental treatment patterns based on dental panoramic radiographs(DPRs)using deep learning to promote its applicability as human identifiers.A total of 1638 DPRs,of which the chronological age ranged from 20 to 49 years old,were collected from January 2000 to November *** dataset consisted of natural teeth,prostheses,teeth with root canal treatment,and *** detection of natural teeth and dental treatment patterns including the identification of teeth number was done with a pre-trained object detection network which was a convolutional neural network modified by *** objective metrics for the average precision were 99.1%for natural teeth,80.6%for prostheses,81.2%for treated root canals,and 96.8%for implants,*** values for the average recall were 99.6%,84.3%,89.2%,and 98.1%,in the same order,*** study showed outstanding performance of convolutional neural network using dental panoramic radiographs in automatically identifying teeth number and detecting natural teeth,prostheses,treated root canals,and implants.

Relationship between early structural changes at cornea incision sites and surgical outcomes after phacoemulsification

AIM: To assess the early structural changes at clear corneal cataract incision sites and surgical outcomes using anterior segment optical coherence tomography(AS-OCT).METHODS: We evaluated 80 eyes of 59 patients who underwent phacoemulsification with a clear corneal incision. All incisions were evaluated 1 wk, 1, and 3 mo postoperatively using AS-OCT and analyzed regarding angle, length of the incision, maximal corneal thickness at the incision, and if present, corneal endothelial gap length and incision gap area. The patients were divided into two groups according to whether or not an endothelial gap was present at 1 wk postoperatively(endothelial gap, group 1;no endothelial gap, group 2). We analyzed the difference in patient and surgical factors between the two groups, and compared the surgical outcome and the refractive ***: An endothelial gap was observed in 56(70.0%) of 80 eyes at 1 wk postoperatively but not at 3 mo postoperatively. The mean patient age was significantly higher in group 1 than in group 2. The longer the length of the corneal incision and the steeper the incision angle, the greater the length and area of the endothelial gap. In group 1, the mean change in mean keratometry of the anterior cornea was significantly greater than in group 2, and the spherical equivalent(SE) and mean numerical error indicated significant myopic changes at 1 wk postoperatively. CONCLUSION: The risk of an endothelial gap increases with patient age and a long corneal incision and steep incision angle. The presence of an endothelial gap aftersurgery may affect the early postoperative corneal curvature and SE.
