Dual ion storage hybrid supercapacitors(HsCs)are considered as a promising device to overcome the limited energy density of existing supercapacitors while preserving high power and long ***,the development of high-capacity anion-storing materials,which can be paired with fast charg-ing capacitive electrodes,lags behind cation-storing ***,we demonstrate the surface faradaic OH-storage mechanism of anion storing perovskite oxide composites and their application in high-performance dual ion *** oxygen vacancy and nanoparticle size of the reduced LaMnO_(3)(r-LaMnO_(3))were controlled,while r-LaMnO_(3) was chemically coupled with ozonated carbon nanotubes(oCNTs)for the improved anion storing capacity and cycle *** taken by in-situ and ex-situ spectroscopic and computational analyses,OH-ions are inserted into the oxygen vacancies coordi-nating with octahedral Mn with the increase in the oxidation state of Mn during the charging process or vice *** OH-storing r-LaMnO_(3)/oCNT composite with Na*storing MXene,the as-fabricated aqueous dual ion HSCs achieved the cycle performance of 73.3%over 10,000 cycles,delivering the max-imum energy and power densities of 47.5 w h kg^(-1) and 8 kw kg^(-1),respectively,far exceeding those of previously reported aqueous anion and dual ion storage *** research establishes a foundation for the unique anion storage mechanism of the defect engineered perovskite oxides and the advancement of dual ion hybrid energy storage devices with high energy and power densities.

Effect of Post-Rolling after ECAP on Superplastic Behavior of Commercial Al-Mg Alloy

A commercial Al-Mg alloy was subjected to equal channel angular pressing of 4 passes with and without postrolling, and the effects of post-rolling on the deformation characteristics of the alloy at 723 K were examined. Post-rolling was found to influence the deformation behavior significantly. The deformation behavior of the alloy processed only by equal channel angular pressing was characterized by (a) localized deformation indicated by severe surface prominence and depression, (b) the strain rate sensitivity of 0.33, and (c) moderate high strain rate superplastic elongations. By contrast, that of the alloy processed by equal channel angular pressing and post-rolling (70 % thickness reduction) was manifested by (a) uniform deformation associated with grain boundary sliding throughout the sample, (b) a sigmoidal behavior showing the strain rate sensitivity of 0.45 at the intermediate strain rates in the logarithmic stress-strain rate curve, and (c) very large high strain rate superplastic elongations.

Role of oxygen free radicals in patients with acute pancreatitis

AIM:The generation of oxygen free radicals has been implicated in the pathogenesis of experimental pancreatitis. The aim of this study was to determine the role of oxygen free radicals in patients with acute pancreatitis. METHODS:The plasma levels of C-reactive protein(CRP), lipid peroxide(LPO),myeloperoxidase(MPO)and superoxide dismutase(SOD)were measured in 13 patients with acute pancreatitis and 14 healthy volunteers. RESULTS:Among the patients with acute pancreatitis,there were higher plasma levels of LPO and MPO and lower SOD activity in patients with severe pancreatitis than in those with mild ***,there was no significant difference in the serum marker of oxidative stress no matter what the etiology *** LPO level was especially correlated with the concentration of serum CRP and CT severity index. CONCLUSION:The oxygen free radicals may be closely associated with inflammatory process and the severity of acute ***,the concentration of plasma LPO is a meaningful index for determining the severity of the disease.

Optimizing radiotherapy with immune checkpoint blockade in hepatocellular carcinoma

Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is the fifth most common cancer, and its incidence is rapidly increasing in North America and Western Europe as well as South-East Asia. Patients with advanced stage HCC have very poor outcomes;therefore, the discovery of new innovative approaches is urgently needed. Cancer immunotherapy has become a game-changer and revolutionized cancer treatment. A comprehensive understanding of tumor-immune interactions led to the development of immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) as new therapeutic tools, which have been used with great success. Targeting immune checkpoint molecules such as programmed cell death-1 (PD-1) and cytotoxic T lymphocyteassociated protein-4 (CTLA-4) reinvigorates anti-tumor immunity by restoring exhausted T cells. Despite their effectiveness in several types of cancer, of the many immune suppressive mechanisms limit the efficacy of ICI monotherapy. Radiation therapy (RT) is an essential local treatment modality for a broad range of malignancies, and it is currently gaining extensive attention as a promising combination partner with ICIs because of its ability to trigger immunogenic cell death. The efficacy of combination approaches using RT and ICIs has been well documented in numerous preclinical and clinical studies on various types of cancers but not HCC. The application of ICIs has now expanded to HCC, and RT is recognized as a promising modality in HCC. This review will highlight the current roles of PD-1 and CTLA-4 therapies and their combination with RT in the treatment of cancers, including HCC. In addition, this review will discuss the future perspectives of the combination of ICIs and RT in HCC treatment.

Association of visceral obesity and early colorectal neoplasia

AIM:To examine whether visceral adipose tissue(VAT)serves as a risk factor for colorectal adenoma-early colorectal cancer(CRC)***:A retrospective case-control study was conducted with 153 patients with stageⅠCRC,age/sex-matched 554 patients with colorectal adenoma and557 normal *** subjects underwent various laboratory tests,abdominal fat computed tomography(CT),and *** was defined as an intraabdominal adipose tissue area measured by CT *** tissue area was measured at the level of the umbilicus from CT *** used the lowest quartile of VAT and subcutaneous adipose tissue area as a reference ***:The body mass index(BMI),total cholesterol,fasting glucose and VAT areas were significantly different among normal,adenoma and CRC *** VAT area was 120.6±49.0 cm2in normal controls,130.6±58.4 cm2in adenoma group and 117.6±51.6cm2in CRC group(P=0.002).In univariate analysis,increased BMI was a risk factor for CRC compared to control(P=0.025).However,VAT area was not a risk factor for CRC compared to *** multivariate analysis that adjusted for smoking,alcohol consumption and subcutaneous adipose tissue area,VAT area was inversely related to CRC,compared to the adenoma(OR=0.53,95%CI:0.31-0.92,highest quartile vs lowest quartile).CONCLUSION:Our study shows that visceral obesity is not a risk factor for early *** obesity might influence the normal-adenoma sequence but not the adenoma-early carcinoma sequence.

Selective Solid-phase Extraction of Aloe Emodin from Aloe by Molecularly Imprinted Polymers

The extraction and separation of aloe emodin were optimized via selective molecularly imprinted solid-phase extraction. Molecularly imprinted polymer was prepared from the functional monomer, methacrylic acid and a mixture of ethanol/dodecanol（90/10, volume ratio） as porogen. It overcomes the common problems of imprin- ting biological polar compounds and shows high selectivity compared favorably with those of non-imprinted polymer and commercially available C18 and silica cartridges in similar aloe emodin tests. Good linearity was obtained be- tween 0.002 and 2.5 mg/mL（r2=0.998） with relative standard deviations below 3.3%.

BACKGROUND Gastric cancer is the fifth most diagnosed cancer worldwide and the third most common cause of cancer-related *** recent decades,increasing application of next-generation sequencing has enabled detection of molecular aberrations,including *** cases where tissue is difficult to obtain,cell-free DNA(cfDNA)is used for detecting mutations to identify the molecular profile of ***,we report a rare case of EGFR-SEPT14 fusion detected from cfDNA analysis in a patient with gastric *** SUMMARY A 49-year-old female diagnosed with advanced gastric cancer in July 2019 received capecitabine and then combination chemotherapy of ramucirumab and paclitaxel,but ascites was *** therapy was switched to nivolumab,but disease progression was observed on a positron emission tomography/computed tomography scan in May *** was discontinued,and cfDNA nextgeneration sequencing was immediately *** genomic variants,including fusions,were analyzed from *** following somatic alterations were detected from the patient’s cfDNA:an APC frameshift mutation(NM_000038.5:c.6579del,p.V2194fs)with variant allele frequency of 0.5%,an EGFR amplification with a copy number of 17.3,and an EGFR-SEPT14 fusion with variant allele frequency of 45.3%.The site of the fusion was exon 24 of EGFR fused to exon 10 of *** fusion was in-frame and considered to be protooncogenic. Although the patient refused to continue therapy, we suggest thatEGFR-targeted therapies be tried in such future *** expanded applications of the cfDNA assay may open a new horizon intreatment of patients with advanced gastric cancer.

Promoter hypermethylation and loss of CD133 gene expression in colorectal cancers

AIM: To understand CD133 promoter hypermethyl-ation and expression in 32 colorectal cancer cell lines. METHODS: Nucleic acid was isolated from 32 colorectal cancer cell lines and CD133 expression levels were measured by reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) and real-time PCR. Promoter methylation status of the CD133 gene was analyzed with a methylation-specific PCR after sodium-bisulfi te modification and by clonal sequencing analysis. The correlation between expression and promoter methylation of CD133 gene was confirmed with treatment of 5-aza-2’-deoxycytidine. RESULTS: We measured CD133 expression levels in 32 colorectal cancer cell lines. RT-PCR analysis showed undetectable or low levels of CD133 expression in 34.4%of cell lines. To verify the relation between CD133 expression and methylation status of the CD133 gene promoter in colorectal carcinogenesis, CD133 gene promoter hypermethylation was analyzed in 32 cancer cell lines. Promoter hypermethylation was detected in 13 (40.6%) of the cell lines using methylation specificPCR and confirmed by bisulfite sequencing analysis. Treatment of 11 of the cell lines with the demethylation agent 5-aza-2’-deoxycytidine recovered CD133 expression in most of them. CONCLUSION: Transcriptional repression of CD133 is caused by promoter hypermethylation of the CD133 CpG islands in some of colorectal cancer cell lines. The study may contribute to the understanding of the role of CD133 inactivation in the progression of colorectal cancers.

Quantitative comparison of similarity measure and entropy for fuzzy sets

Comparison and data analysis with the similarity measures and entropy for fuzzy sets were carried out. The distance proportional value between the fuzzy set and the corresponding crisp set was considered by the fuzzy entropy. The relation between the similarity measure and the entropy for fuzzy set was also analyzed. The fuzzy entropy was reformulated as the dissimilarity measure. Furthermore, crisp set having the minimum uncertainty with respect to the corresponding fuzzy set was also proposed. Finally, derivation of a similarity measure from entropy with the help of total information property was derived. A simple example shows the relation between similarity measure and fuzzy entropy, in which the summation of similarity measure and fuzzy entropy represents a constant value.

Injection molding of micro patterned PMMA plate

A plastic plate with surface micro features was injection molded to investigate the effect of pressure rise of melt on the replication of the micro structures. Prism pattern, which is used in many optical applications, was selected as a model pattern. The prism pattern is 50 μm in pitch and 108° in the vertical angle. The overall size of the plate was 335 minx213 mm and the thickness of the plate varied linearly from 2.6 mm to 0.7 ram. The prism pattern was firstly machined on the nickel plated core block using micro diamond tool and this machined pattern core was installed in a mold for injection molding of prism patterned plate. Polymethyl methacrylate （PMMA） was used as a molding material. The pressure and temperature of the melt in the cavity were measured at different positions in the cavity and the replication of the pattern was also measured at the same positions. The results show that the pressure or temperature profile through the process depends on the shape and the size of the plate. The replication is affected by the temperature and pressure profiles at the early stage of filling, which is right after the melt reaches the position to be measured.
