Characteristics of climate and melt runoff in the Koxkar Glacier River Basin, south slope of the Tianshan Mountains, Northwest China

Hydrology of the high glacierized region in the Tianshan Mountains is an important water resource for arid and semiarid areas of China,even Central *** hydrological process is complex to understand,due to the high variability in cli mate and the lack of hydrometeorological *** on field observations,the present study analyzes the meteorological and hydrological characteristics of the Koxkar Glacier River Basin during 20082011;and the factors influencing climate impact on glacier hydrology are *** results show that precipitation at the terminus of the glacier was 426.2 mm,471.8 mm,624.9 mm,and 532 mm in 2008,2009,2010,and 2011,*** increases starting in May,reaches its highest value in July and August,and then starts to *** mean annual discharge was 118.23×106 m3 during the four years observed,with 87.0%occurring in the ablation season(May September).During the study period,the runoff in August accounted for 29%of total streamflow,followed by July(22%)and June(14%).The runoff exhibited obviously high interannual variability from April to September,induced by drastic changes in climate *** autocorrelations are very high for all the *** climate factors show different influences on *** highest correlation R between daily temperature and discharge was for a time lag of 23 days 2on the Koxkar Glacier(0.660.76).The daily depth of runoff to daily temperature and daily water vapor pressure had an R value of 0.56 and 0.69,respective ly,which could be described by an exponential function.A closer relationship is found between runoff and either tempera ture or water vapor pressure on a monthly scale;the R2 values are 0.65 and 0.78,*** study helps us to under stand the mechanisms of the hydrological meteorological system of typical regional glaciers and to provide a reference for glacier-runoff simulations and water-resource management.

Longitudinal Heating Gradient:Another Possible Factor Influencing the Intensity of the Asian Summer Monsoon Circulation

The largest longitudinal heating gradients in the tropics exist between the African desert and Asian convective regions during summer once the South Asian monsoon is *** heating gradients are anchored by the latent heat release and net radiative flux convergence over the monsoon region,and by the dominant net radiative flux divergence over the *** apparent relationship is found between the intensity of the Asian summer monsoon circulation and the longitudinal heating gradients mentioned,in addition to the latitudinal heating gradients cross the monsoon *** monsoon circulation measured in terms of the zonal wind component is stronger when the longitudinal heating gradients are large,and vice ***,we claim that the longitudinal heating gradient may be another important factor which influences the intensity of the Asian summer monsoon *** is little evidence that the interannual variability of the longitudinal heating gradients between Africa and Asia and,thus,the intensity of the Asian summer monsoon circulation,is a strong function of the El Nino/Southern Oscillation cycle.

Blockchain is considered by many to be a disruptive core *** many researchers have realized the importance of blockchain,the research of blockchain is still in its ***,this study reviews the current academic research on blockchain,especially in the subject area of business and *** on a systematic review of the literature retrieved from the Web of Science service,we explore the top-cited articles,most productive countries,and most common ***,we conduct a clustering analysis and identify the following five research themes:“economic benefit,”“blockchain technology,”“initial coin offerings,”“fintech revolution,”and“sharing economy.”Recommendations on future research directions and practical applications are also provided in this paper.

Residents’ Attitudes Towards Tourism in a Globally Important Agricultural Heritage Systems Pilot Site: a Case Study in China

Globally Important Agricultural Heritage Systems (GIAHS) is a wide program to promote the conservation and adap-tive management of such systems and their associated landscapes, biodiversity, knowledge systems and cultures. Rice-Fish Systems (RFS) in Longxian village of China, as a traditional agricultural system, was selected as one of the five pilot sites of GIAHS in 2005. Researchers have paid more attention to the dynamic conser-vation and adaptive management of RFS because it is under severe threats from global development challenges. Tourism is suggested to be brought into the RFS conservation program as an alternative industry. This paper presents a comparative study of residents in three types of farm household in Longxian, seeking attitudes to the RFS conservation and tourism development and ways in which such information may guide future strategies. Results show resi-dents, belonging to the household type in which most family mem-bers are abroad, have the most positive attitudes to RFS conserva-tion and tourism development; while residents, as other household type in which less than 50% of family members are abroad, are the least sensitive group in these three household types, due to the motivation of moving abroad weakening their enthusiasm to participate in the local activities. Implications are discussed in the context of how resident attitudes will affect the future manage-ment of GIAHS conservation and tourism development, and then measures are put forward to foster tourism cooperation and multi-stakeholders process establishment.

Dependence of magnetic properties on microstructure and composition of Ce-Fe-B sintered magnets

In this paper,dependence of magnetic properties on microstructure and composition of Ce-Fe-B sintered magnets with Cu-doped Ce-rich alloy addition was *** shows that the maximum energy product(BH)(max)and coercivity H(cj)of Ce-Fe-B sintered magnet are improved from 6.76 to 9.13 MGOe by 35.1%,and from 1.44 to 1.67 kOe by 16.0%,respectively,via adding 5 wt%liquid phase alloy of Ce(35.58)Fe(57.47)Cu6 B(0.95)(at%).Compared with the magnet without Cerich alloy addition,the volume fraction of the grain-boundary phase with low melting point increases in the magnet with Ce-rich alloy additio n,which is be ne ficial to imp roving the microstructure and promoting the coercivity enhancement of the *** the Ce-Fe-B magnet with Ce-rich alloy addition,Cu and Ce enrich in the grain boundaries of the magnet after annealing,therefore the as-annealed magnet has a higher coercivity than the as-sintered magnet.A distinct Fe-rich layer with the average thickness of 60 nm is found in the grain boundaries in the magnet without Ce-rich alloy addition,but it seems that Fe-rich phase disappears in the magnet with Ce-rich alloy *** present work suggests that the further improvement of coercivity in the Ce-Fe-B sintered magnets is expectable by designing the composition and structure of added liquid phase alloys.

Adsorption of phenolic compounds from aqueous solutions by aminated hypercrosslinked polymers

Two novel polymers （NJ-1 and N J-2） were synthesized by chemically modified a hypercrosslinked polymer NJ-0 with dimethylamine and trimethylamine, respectively. The comparison of the adsorption properties of the three polymers toward phenol, resorcin and phloroglucin was made. The study focused on the static equilibrium adsorption behaviors and the adsorption thermodynamics. Freundlich equation was found to fit the adsorption results well. The effect of amino groups introduced onto the surface of the resin and the structure of phenolic compounds on the adsorption were also studied. The hydrogen-bonding interaction and electrostatic interaction could happen between the amino groups and the adsorbates. The adsorption impetus increased as quantity of hydroxyl groups increased, but the adsorption capacity decreased due to the drop of the matching degree of the aperture of resins and the diameter of adsorbate molecules.

7YSZ coating prepared by PS-PVD based on heterogeneous nucleation

Plasma spray-physical vapor deposition（PS-PVD） as a novel coating process based on low-pressure plasma spray（LPPS） has been significantly used for thermal barrier coatings（TBCs）.A coating can be deposited from liquid splats, nano-sized clusters, and the vapor phase forming different structured coatings, which shows obvious advantages in contrast to conventional technologies like atmospheric plasma spray（APS） and electron beam-physical vapor deposition（EBPVD）. In addition, it can be used to produce thin, dense, and porous ceramic coatings for special applications because of its special characteristics, such as high power, very low pressure, etc. These provide new opportunities to obtain different advanced microstructures, thus to meet the growing requirements of modern functional coatings. In this work, focusing on exploiting the potential of gas-phase deposition from PS-PVD, a series of 7 YSZ coating experiments with various process conditions was performed in order to better understand the deposition process in PS-PVD, where coatings were deposited on different substrates including graphite and zirconia. Meanwhile, various substrate temperatures were investigated for the same substrate. As a result, a deposition mechanism of heterogeneous nucleation has been presented showing that surface energy is an important influencing factor for coating structures. Besides, undercooling of the interface between substrate and vapor phase plays an important role in coating structures.

Algorithm for Computation of Unstructured Real Stability Radius and Its Applications

An algorithm for the computation of the unstructured real stability radius of high dimensional linearsystem is presented. Using the accurate formula of the real stability radius of 2-dimensional system linear systemchecks the algorithm. The result shows that the algorithm is reliable and efficient. As applications, the unstructuredreal stability radii of 2-dimensional Chua's circuit and 3-dimensional piecewise-linear system are calculated, thedynamical orbits of the corresponding perturbed systems are simulated.

Nanostructured AlFeO_(3) thin films as a novel photoanode for photoelectrochemical water splitting

The earth-abundant and robust aluminum ferrite,AlFeO_(3)(AFO),is mainly studied in the context of ***,we demonstrate that AFO can be used as a stable solar absorber in photoelectrochemical cells for solar water splitting,exhibiting attractive *** is the first report on the photoelectrochemical activity of *** thin-film photoelectrodes prepared by solution-processing methods are composed of vertically oriented thin nanosheets,featuring the rhombohedral symmetry(R3c)and n-type *** as-prepared AFO photoanodes generate a photocurrent density of+0.78 mA·cm^(-2) at 1.23 V *** hydrogen electrode(RHE)with the photocurrent _(onset) potential(U_(onset))close to the flat band potential of 0.5 V *** in the presence of hole ***,the U_(onset) of AFO for solar water splitting coincides with the flat band potential as well,which is rare in n-type inorganic *** also report other properties of AFO associated with photoelectrochemical *** films exhibit a band gap energy of 2.31 eV and positive band edges with low ***,the carrier lifetimes in AFO films are up to millisecond timescales under the mediation of defect *** on the photoelectrochemical behavior and optoelectronic properties,we believe that AFO has great potential for application in photoelectrochemical cells.
