Effects of Cr addition(0,3,and 6 wt%) on Charpy impact properties of Fe-C-Mn-Cr-based steels were studied by conducting dynamic compression tests at room and cryogenic *** room temperature,deformation mechanisms of Charpy impacted specimens were observed as twinning induced plasticity(TWIP) without any transfo rmation induced plasticity(TRIP) in all the *** cryogenic temperature,many twins were populated in the Cr-added steels,but,interestingly,fine ε-martensite was found in the OCr steel,satisfying the Shoji-Nishiyama(S-N) orientation relationship,{111}γ//{0002}ε and γ//ε.Even though the cryogenic-temperature staking fault energies(SFEs) of the three steel were situated in the TWIP regime,the martensitic transformation was induced by Mn-and Cr-segregated *** the OCr steel,SFEs of low-(Mn,Cr) bands lay between the TWIP and TRIP regimes which were sensitively affected by a small change of *** dynamic compressive test results well showed the relation between segregation bands and the *** of Cr were known as not only increasing the SFE but also promoting the carbide *** order to identify the possibility of carbide formation,a precipitation kinetics simulation was conducted,and the predicted fractions of precipitated M23C6 were negligible,0.4-1.1×10-5,even at the low cooling rate of 10℃/s.

Manufacturing temperatures of severely cold-drawn hyper-eutectoid steel wires are sufficiently high to influence the mobility of dislocations and alloy elements,thereby affecting the materials’mechanical ***,we describe the evolution of microstructure and tensile strength of the as-drawn 3.45 GPa steel wire during post-deformation annealing for 30 min at 150-450℃.Annealing at 150℃raised the strength to 3.77 GPa by age-hardening through activation of dislocations pinning by carbon,while further temperature rising up to 450℃caused a severe loss of *** was proved that annealing at 300 and 450℃destabilizes the lamellar microstructure,promoting the formation of carbon-deficient(Fe,Mn,Cr)3 C-type cementite particles with preferentially rounded and partially faceted *** at 450℃yielded the accumulation of Mn and Cr at the ferrite/particle interfaces,and their concentrations at the interfaces were dependent on the interface structure;i.e.,lower concentrations at rounded interfaces(formed through capillarity–driven coarsening of the spheroidized cementite),and higher concentrations at faceted interfaces(that are initially existing in the as-drawn state).Our proof-of-principle observations,supported by thermodynamic calculations and kinetic assessments,provide a pathway for understanding the changes in microstructural and tensile properties during manufacturing of the hyper-eutectoid steel wires.

This study was conducted to understand the effect of the livestock liquid fertilizer treatment at field-scale up to catchment-scale on the water quality properties. Cultivated paddy rice and upland plots located in Gyeonggi province, Korea were treated with two different liquid fertilizers, SP (Liquid fertilizer with storage process) and SCB (Liquid fertilizer with slurry composting and bio-filtration process). Plots with no fertilizer (control A) and chemical fertilizer (control B) were also prepared for comparison. Water quantity and quality were monitored at the catchment outlet for assessing the effect on water quality of stream water. As a result, the losses of N and P and the values of EC (Electronic Conductivity) in the surface drainage water from paddy rice plots treated with SP and SCB were higher than those from the control plots (A and B). In addition, the losses of N and P by the runoff water from upland plots with SP and SCB treatment were higher than those from control plots (A and B). The nutrient outflow from paddy rice fields and uplands with application of liquid pig manure was higher than those from the control plots (A and B). Particularly, the outflow from uplands may directly affect the water quality in neighboring streams. This caused the major eutrophication problem in stream water. In conclusion, it is necessary to establish the proper management practices to prevent the nutrient losses from agricultural fields and the pollutants against water environments.

The Soil and Water Assessment Tool(SWAT)is an ecohydrological watershed-scale model which was initially developed in the early 1990s to simulate the impacts of land use,management systems,and climate on hydrology and/or water *** adopted in the U.S.,the use of the model then spread to Europe and then later to Asia and other *** range of applications that SWAT has been applied to have also expanded dramatically,which influenced ongoing model development which has been virtually continuous over the past two decades.A key component of many SWAT applications in Asia is accounting for rice paddy production that is common in some subregions within the ***,most of these studies do not provide explicit details of how rice production was simulated in *** research has revealed that significant problems occur when trying to represent rice paddy systems in standard versions of SWAT,due to limitations in algorithms based on the runoff curve number approach or the pothole *** response,key modifications have been made to SWAT in recent studies that have resulted in more accurate representation of rice paddy *** developments point to the need for the incorporation of an enhanced rice paddy module within SWAT to better capture rice paddy hydrological and pollutant dynamics,which would support improved use of the model in Asia and other rice production *** related to simulating rice production in SWAT are discussed as follows:1)an overview of global rice production;2)history of SWAT development;3)typical approaches for simulating rice production;4)problems associated with the typical approaches;5)recent code modifications to address deficiencies in replicating rice paddy systems;6)recommendations for developing a standard rice paddy module for future SWAT codes.

Recently, special attention has been givento acid rain and its problem to environment such as acid precipitation and air pollution in East *** the present study, rainwater samples werecollected from Apr to Oct (farming period) and from Nov to Mar (non-farming period) in 2009 ~ 2011. The samples were chemically characterized for the assessment of emission sources. Suwon region, a typical agricultural area in Gyeonggi province (South Korea) was chosen as a study site. The content of ionic species and theirtemporal variation were used forfactor analysis, which was used to presume the natural and anthropogenic sources depending upon the farming and non-farming periods. The cationsobserved during farming and non-farming periods were?> Na+> Ca2+> K+> H+> Mg2+and Na+> N?>Ca2+> H+= Mg2+> K+, respectively. The anions during farming and non-farming periods were?>?> Cl- and?>?> Cl-, respectively. While the amounts of sulfate, one of the major dissolved components of rainwater were 113.5 and 177.0 ueq.L-1, the ones of NSS-?(Non-Sea Salt sulfate) were 93.7 and 87.1% during farming and non-farming periods, respectively. The comparison of observed pH values (pHobs) with the theoretical pH values (pHthe) showed that the neutralization of rainwater considerably went along during farming and non-farming periods. The highest amountof rainfall throughout the year was310.5 mmin August and its corre sponding nitrogen loading was5.03 kg·ha-1. The major ion contents for crop growth, , Ca2+, K+, Mg2+, were 49.4, 5.5, 18.1,1.4 kg·ha-1from April to October. The major contributions to the existing chemical ions in rainwaters during farming and non-farming periods were from the natural sources (sea and soil) and the anthropogenic sources (human and animal waste, vehicular emission + fossil fuels combustion), respectively.

This study was carried out to understand the long-term effect of organic waste treatment on the fate of heavy metals originated from the organic wastes, together with examination of changes in soil properties. For this, the soils received three different organic wastes (municipal sewage sludge, alcohol fermentation processing sludge, pig manure compost) in three different rates (12.5, 25, 50 ton/ha/yr) for 7 years (1994 - 2000) were used. To see the long-term effect, plant growth study and soil examination were conducted twice in 2000 and 2010, respectively. There was no additional treatment of organic wastes for post ten years after ceasing organic waste treatment for seven years. Soil examination conducted in 2010 showed decreases in soil pH, EC, total nitrogen, organic matter, available phosphorus, exchangeable cations and heavy metal contents in all soils received organic wastes compared to the results obtained in 2000. Speciation of heavy metals in soil through sequential extraction showed that organically bound Cu was the dominant species in all treatment and exchangeable Cu was increased in the plots treated with municipal sewage sludge and alcohol fermentation processing sludge. organically bound Ni increased from 25% - 30% to 32% - 45% in 2010 inall treatment while Pb showed increase in carbonate form in all treatments. Zn existed mainly as sulfide and residual forms, showing increases in organically bound form in all treatment during post ten years.

Amidst the ever-growing interest in high-mass-loading Li battery electrodes,a persistent challenge has been the insufficient continuity of their ion/electron conduction ***,we propose cellulose elementary fibrils(CEFs)as a class of deagglomerated binder for high-mass-loading *** from natural wood,CEF represents the most fundamental unit of cellulose with nanoscale *** preparation of the CEFs involves the modulation of intermolecular hydrogen bonding by the treatment with a proton acceptor and a hydrotropic *** elementary deagglomeration of the cellulose fibers increases surface area and anionic charge density,thus promoting uniform dispersion with carbon conductive additives and suppressing interfacial side reactions at ***,a homogeneous redox reaction is achieved throughout the *** resulting CEF-based cathode(overlithiated layered oxide(OLO)is chosen as a benchmark electrode active material)exhibits a high areal-mass-loading(50 mg cm^(-2),equivalent to an areal capacity of 12.5 mAh cm^(-2))and a high specific energy density(445.4 Wh kg–1)of a cell,which far exceeds those of previously reported OLO *** study highlights the viability of the deagglomerated binder in enabling sustainable high-mass-loading electrodes that are difficult to achieve with conventional synthetic polymer binders.
