Landslide susceptibility mapping is the first step in regional hazard management as it helps to understand the spatial distribution of the probability of slope failure in an *** attempt is made to map the landslide susceptibility in Tevankarai Ar subwatershed,Kodaikkanal,India using binary logistic regression *** Information System is used to prepare the database of the predictor variables and landslide inventory map,which is used to build the spatial model of landslide *** model describes the relationship between the dependent variable(presence and absence of landslide) and the independent variables selected for study(predictor variables) by the best fitting function.A forward stepwise logistic regression model using maximum likelihood estimation is used in the regression *** inventory of 84 landslides and cells within a buffer distance of 10m around the landslide is used as the dependent ***,slope,aspect,plan curvature,profile curvature,land use,soil,topographic wetness index,proximity to roads and proximity to lineaments are taken as independent *** constant and the coefficient of the predictor variable retained by the regression model are used to calculate the probability of slope failure and analyze the effect of each predictor variable on landslide occurrence in thestudy *** model shows that the most significant parameter contributing to landslides is *** other significant parameters are profile curvature,soil,road,wetness index and *** predictive logistic regression model is validated using temporal validation data-set of known landslide locations and shows an accuracy of 85.29 %.

Delineation of groundwater potential zones using remote sensing and Geographic Information Systems(GIS)in Kadaladi region,Southern India

The primary objective of this research is to delineate potential groundwater recharge zones in the Kadaladi taluk of Ramanathapuram,Tamil Nadu,India,using a combination of remote sensing and Geographic Information Systems(GIS)with the Analytical Hierarchical Process(AHP).Various factors such as geology,geomorphology,soil,drainage,density,lineament density,slope,rainfall were analyzed at a specific *** layers were evaluated for quality and relevance using Saaty's scale,and then inte-grated using the weighted linear combination *** weights assigned to each layer and features were standardized using AHP and the Eigen vector technique,resulting in the final groundwater potential zone *** AHP method was used to normalize the scores following the assignment of weights to each criterion or factor based on Saaty's 9-point ***-wise matrix analysis was utilized to calculate the geometric mean and normalized weight for various *** groundwater recharge potential zone map was created by mathematically overlaying the normalized weighted *** layers indicating major elements influencing groundwater occurrence and recharge were derived from satellite images.2 Results indicate that approximately 21.8 km of the total area exhibits high potential for groundwater *** recharge is viable in areas with moderate slopes,particularly in the central and southeastern regions.

The hepatitis C virus is hitherto a tremendous threat to human beings,but many researchers have analyzed mathematical models for hepatitis C virus transmission dynamics only in the deterministic *** plays an immense role in pathology and ***,the main theme of this article is to investigate a stochastic epidemic hepatitis C virus model with five states of epidemiological classification:susceptible,acutely infected,chronically infected,recovered or removed and chronically infected,and *** stochastic hepatitis C virus model in epidemiology is established based on the environmental influence on individuals,is manifested by stochastic perturbations,and is proportional to each *** assert that the stochastic HCV model has a unique global positive solution and attains sufficient conditions for the extinction of the hepatotropic RNA ***,by constructing a suitable Lyapunov function,we obtain sufficient conditions for the existence of an ergodic stationary distribution of the solutions to the stochastic HCV ***,this article confirms that using numerical simulations,the six parameters of the stochastic HCV model can have a high impact over the disease transmission dynamics,specifically the disease transmission rate,the rate of chronically infected population,the rate of progression to chronic infection,the treatment failure rate of chronically infected population,the recovery rate from chronic infection and the treatment rate of the chronically infected ***,numerical simulations validate the effectiveness of our theoretical conclusions.

Taxane efficacy in triple negative breast cancer(TNBC)is limited by insufficient tumor accumulation and severe off-target *** offer a unique opportunity to enhance the anti-cancer potency of this ***,1,000 nm×400 nm discoidal polymeric nanoconstructs(DPN)encapsulating docetaxel(DTXL)and the near infrared compound Iipid-Cy5 were *** were obtained by filling multiple times cylindrical wells in a poly(vinyl alcohol)template with a polymer mixture comprising poly(lactic-co-glycolic acid)(PLGA)and poly(ethylene glycol)diacrylate(PEG-DA)chains together with therapeutic and imaging *** resulting“multi-passage”DPN exhibited higher DTXL loading,Iipid-Cy5 stability,and stiffness as compared to the conventional"single-passage"*** microscopy confirmed that DTXL-DPN were not taken up by MDA-MB-231 cells but would rather sit next to the cell membrane and slowly release DTXL *** DPN had no toxicity on TNBC cells,whereas DTXL-DPN presented a cytotoxic potential comparable to free DTXL(IC_(50)=2.6 nM±1.0 nM vs.7.0 nM±1.09 nM at 72 h).In orthotopic murine models,DPN accumulated in TNBC more efficiently than *** only 2 mg/kg DTXL,intravenously administered every 2 days for a total of 13 treatments,DTXL-DPN induced tumor regression and were associated to an overall 80%survival rate as opposed to a 30%survival rate for free-DTXL,at 120 *** untreated mice succumbed before 90 ***,this data demonstrates that vascular confined multi-passage DPN,biomimicking the behavior of circulating platelets,can efficiently deliver chemotherapeutic molecules to malignant tissues and effectively treat orthotopic TNBC at minimal taxane doses.

Mechanical Properties of Natural Fiber Braided Yarn Woven Composite： Comparison with Conventional Yarn Woven Composite

The effect of reinforcing natural fiber in the form of braided yarn woven fabric on mechanical properties of polymer composite was investigated. The results of braided yarn fabric composites were compared with the conventional yarn fabric composite and random oriented intimately mixed short fiber composites for the same percentage of fiber weight. The effect of intra-ply hybridization, by keeping two different natural fiber yams along two different directions of a woven fabric, on mechanical properties of the woven fabric composite was also analyzed. Natural fiber braided yarn fabric reinforcement significantly increased the mechanical properties of the composites compared with that of the conventional woven fabric and short fiber reinforcements. Intra-ply hybridization of two different natural fibers improved the mechanical properties of the conventional woven fabric composite while it could not enhance the properties of the braided fabric composite. The improvement in impact property is very high compared to tensile and flexural properties due to the braided yarn fabric reinforcement.

An analysis of the delay-dependent HIV-1 protease inhibitor model

In this paper, we have studied about the sensitivity analysis of the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) protease inhibitor (PI) model and estimated the length of the delay. We have fabricated an HIV PI model accompanied with humoral immunity. Stability analysis of the constructed model about its steady states has been deliberated. We have evaluated some numerical simulations for PI model with humoral immunity by using the existing patient data.

质子交换膜燃料电池(PEMFCs)不仅采用可再生的和环境友好的能源(如氢气和甲醇)作为燃料,而且转换效率高,因此被认为是潜在的能量转换设备.目前PEMFCs大多采用活性炭负载的贵金属作为其阴极和阳极的电催化剂,因此制造成本高,限制了它的实际应用.燃料电池电催化剂研发的一个紧迫的任务就是避免使用采用贵金属.直接甲醇燃料电池(DMFCs)阳极上进行的甲醇氧化反应(MOR)通常采用活性炭或多孔碳材料负载的Pt基双功能催化剂.在此基础上复合第二贵金属(如Ru)可改善其结构、电子和表面化学性质,表现出较高的稳定性和抗CO中毒性能,因而在MOR中具有优异的电催化活性.然而,在DMFCs长期运行期间,该Pt-Ru/C阳极催化剂大多出现严重的金属Ru溶解流失,以及燃料甲醇透过聚电解质膜的现象.因此,进一步提高Pt-Ru/C电催化剂的稳定性成为当务之急.另外,考虑到膜电极的成本和PEMFCs的整体效率,在保持较好MOR活性的前提下,减少贵金属用量或采用非贵金属,甚至不用金属,进一步降低其成本也尤为重要,这也将十分有利于基础研究和实际的工业应用.采用软模板或硬模板法制得的有序介孔碳(OMCs)因具有高的比表面积、可调的中孔尺寸和表面官能团性质而广受关注,已经应用于催化剂载体,吸附剂,传感器和电极材料等领域.OMCs可负载Pt制成电催化剂而用于DMFCs/PEMFCs中.本课题组前期以介孔氧化硅SBA-15为硬模板剂,糠醇和三甲苯为初始碳源,Pt和Ru的乙酰丙酮化物为金属前驱体和次级碳源,采用一步法直接制备了OMC负载的高分散、高稳定性的单Pt和Pt-Ru双金属纳米粒子,在MOR中表现出优异的电催化活性和较高的稳定性性能,超过常用的商用催化剂,显示出较大的应用潜力.因此,本文采用类似的方法将高度分散的PtM(M=Ru,Fe,Mo)合金纳米粒子沉积于OMCs上,从而制得PtM-OMC(M=Ru,Fe,Mo)催化剂;同时采用N_2物理吸附、X射线衍射、透射电镜、X射线吸收近边结构、扩展X射线吸收精细结构谱等手段对其结构组成、形貌和织构等物化性质进行了表征.结果表明,合金化的PtM纳米粒子的平均粒径约2-3 nm,且高度分散于OMC载体孔道内.另外,PtM纳米粒子中第二金属M(Ru,Fe,Mo)大多以还原态形式存在,形成了典型的核(Pt)-壳(M)结构.循环伏安法测量结果表明,在MOR反应中,所制PtM-OMC电极表现出较高的电催化活性和抗CO中毒性能,超过典型的活性炭负载的Pt-Ru催化剂.尤其值得一提的是,Pt-Fe-OMC催化剂不但具有非常高的稳定性,优越的抗CO性能,而且其催化MOR反应活性与PtRu-OMC的相当,因而具有更低的生产成本,所以Pt-Fe-OMC催化剂在DMFCs阳极电催化剂具有很大的应用前景.
