Evaluation of periglacial landforms and formation of soil properties on the mount Honaz,SW Türkiye

The main aim of this study is to explain periglacial processes on the summits of mount Honaz(2571 m a.s.l.),define periglacial landforms,and determ.n. the relationships between morphometric features and topographic *** circles,stony earth circles,non sorted steps,and non sorted stripes were identified on the summits of mount ***'s correlation coefficient(r)and linear regression analyses were performed by taking metric measurem.n.s from 125 periglacial landforms to describe their morphometric features(length,width,height)of periglacial landforms and explain the relationships between them and topographic factors(elevation,slope).To explain the relationships between periglacial landforms and soil properties,soil samples from 11 periglacial landforms were taken and *** landforms,which continue to develop on the summits of mount Honaz today,have been evaluated with present climate *** of soil samples indicates a notable impact of parent material on the genesis of periglacial *** high ratio of organic matter in mud circle and non sorted step landforms and the high lime ratio in stony earth circle landforms prove a strong relationship between the formation mechanisms of landforms and the soil ***,it is consistent with the findings obtained from the analysis that severe periglacial processes and washing and scavenging events are experienced more on the northern slopes.

Deep optics preconditioner for modulation-free pyramid wavefront sensing

The pyramid wavefront sensor(PWFS)can provide the sensitivity needed for dem.n.ing adaptive optics applications,such as imaging exoplanets using the future extremely large telescopes of over 30 m of diameter(D).However,its exquisite sensitivity has a limited linear range of operation,or dynamic range,although it can be extended through the use of beam modulation—despite sacrificing sensitivity and requiring additional optical *** by artificial intelligence techniques,this work proposes to train an optical layer—comprising a passive diffractive elem.n. placed at a conjugated Fourier plane of the pyramid prism—to boost the linear response of the pyramid sensor without the need for cumbersome *** develop an end-2-end simulation to train the diffractive elem.n.,which acts as an optical preconditioner to the traditional least-square modal phase estimation *** results with a large range of turbulence conditions show a noticeable improvem.n. in the aberration estimation perform.n.e equivalent to over 3λ∕D of modulation when using the optically preconditioned deep PWFS(DPWFS).Experim.n.al results validate the advantages of using the designed optical layer,where the DPWFS can pair the perform.n.e of a traditional PWFS with 2λ∕D of *** and adding an optical preconditioner to the PWFS is just the tip of the iceberg,since the proposed deep optics methodology can be used for the design of a completely new generation of wavefront sensors that can better fit the dem.n.s of sophisticated adaptive optics applications such as ground-to-space and underwater optical comm.n.cations and imaging through scattering media.

Column leaching of lanthanides from Abu Tartur phosphate ore with kinetic study

The dynamic leaching of lanthanides from a west desert phosphate ore, Egypt (Abu Tartur) by hydrochloric acid, nitric acid and sulfuric acid solutions was investigated in this study as a function of acid concentration, flow rate and the presence of some additives such as boric acid. Also the kinetics of leaching of lanthanides was investigated as a function of temperature. Damage mechanics and energy absorption capabilities of natural fiber reinforced elastomeric based bio composite for sacrificial structural applications

The present study deals with the experim.n.al,finite elem.n.(FE)and analytical assessm.n. of low ballistic impact response of proposed flexible‘green’composite make use of naturally available jute and rubber as the constituents of the composite with stacking sequences namely jute/rubber/jute(JRJ),jute/rubber/rubber/jute(JRRJ)and jute/rubber/jute/rubber/jute(JRJRJ).Ballistic impact tests were carried out by firing a conical projectile using a gas gun apparatus at lower range of ballistic impact *** ballistic impact response of the proposed flexible composites are assesses based on energy absorption and damage *** revealed that inclusion of natural rubber aids in better energy absorption and mitigating the failure of the proposed *** the three different stacking sequences of flexible composites considered,JRJRJ provides better ballistic perform.n.e compared to its *** damage study reveals that the main mechanism of failure involved in flexible composites is matrix tearing as opposed to matrix cracking in stiff composites indicating that the proposed flexible composites are free from catastrophic *** obtained from experim.n.al,FE and analytical approach pertaining to energy absorption and damage mechanism agree well with each *** proposed flexible composites due to their exhibited energy absorption capabilities and damage mechanism are best suited as claddings for structural application subjected to impact with an aim of protecting the main structural component from being failed catastrophically.

采用复杂多级方法研究并证实制备具有亚微米/纳米级内部结构的球形W-Cu复合微粉的可能性。首先,采用等离子体化学合成法制备具有核壳结构的W-Cu纳米粉末(W核及Cu壳)。然后,将W-Cu纳米粉末与蔗糖的水悬浮液进行喷雾干燥,形成25~63μm的微粒,收率为50%。最后,用热等离子体射流处理由纳米粉末组成的微粒,形成致密的球形W-Cu颗粒。成品粉末的球化度为90%~95%,体积密度为8.1 g/cm^(3),流动性约为12 s/50 g,杂质中O、C和H的含量(质量分数)分别为0.7%、0.02%~0.2%和0.03%~0.05%。

Technical efficiency of cocoa farms at varying elevation levels in Davao City, Philippines: implications to sustainable upland farm.n. systems

Elevation is one of m.n. components that influence agriculture, and this in turn affects the level of both inputs and outputs of farmers. This article focuses on the productivity and technical efficiency of 100 cocoa farms using cross-sectional data from areas ranging from 190 to 1021 m above sea level which were classified as low, medium, and high elevation in Davao City, considered as the chocolate capital of the Philippines. Using stochastic frontier analysis, the results showed that the cost of inputs per ha and the number of cocoa trees per ha significantly increase yield. Farms at high elevations were less technically efficient, as this entails lower temperatures and increased rainfall, and cocoa farm.n. in those areas and conditions can be more challenging, especially with changes in farm.n. practices, terrain, and distance to markets. Other significant variables were age of cocoa farms, married farmers, and age of the farmers. Older farms may be more developed, farmers who are married benefit from their spouses being able to readily contribute as farm labor, and lastly, older farmers' inefficiency may likely stem from.n.nadaptation of newer farm.n. practices. With an average technical efficiency of 0.61, 0.63, and 0.26 in low, medium, and high elevation areas, respectively, farmers therefore have an incentive to improve farm practices and consider topographical variations found in high elevation areas. Recomm.n.ations for the improvem.n. of technical efficiency of cocoa farms are better connectivity to markets, enhancing farm practices, and continuation and improvem.n. of governm.n. programs on cocoa with an added emphasis on research. For farmers in high elevation areas, mitigating solutions such as sustainable agriculture practices and ecolabelling are key to improving efficiency and m.n.mizing the potential negative impact on upland farm.n. systems. moreover, such adaptation measures may also contribute to sustainability of cocoa farm.n. in high elevation

Increasing the maximum Capacity Path in a network and Its Application for Improving the Connection Between Two Routers

Abstract:This paper addresses the problem of improving the optimal value of the maximum Capacity Path(mCP)through expansion in a flexible network,and m.n.mizing the involved *** only condition applied to the cost functions is to be non-decreasing *** is a non-restrictive condition,reflecting the reality in practice,and is considered for the first time in the ***,the total cost of expansion is a combination of max-type cost(e.g.,for supervision)and sum-type cost(*** building infrastructures,price of materials,price of labor,etc.).For this purpose,two types of strategies are combined:(l)increasing the capacity of the existing arcs,and(l)adding potential new *** different problems are introduced and *** the problems have immediate applications in Internet routing *** first one is to extend the network,so that the capacity of an mcP in the modified network becomes equal to a prescribed value,therefore the cost of modifications is m.n.mized.A strongly polynomial-time algorithm is deduced to solve this *** second problem is a network expansion under a budget constraint,so that the capacity of an mcP is maximized.A weakly polynomial-time algorithm is presented to deal with *** the special case when all the costs are linear,a meggido's parametric search technique is used to develop an algorithm for solving the problem in strongly polynomial *** new approach has a time complexity of O(n^(4)),which is better than the time complexity of O(n4 log(n)of the previously known method from literature.

One-neutron stripping process between^(6)Li and^(209)Bi was studied at 28,30,and 34 meV using the in-beamγ-ray spectroscopy ***γ-γcoincident analysis clearly identified twoγ-rays feeding the ground and long-lived isomeric states,which were employed to determ.n. the cross *** one-neutron stripping cross sections were similar to the cross sections of complete fusion in the^(6)Li+^(209)Bi system,but the one-neutron stripping cross sections decreased more gradually at the sub-barrier region.A coupled-reaction-channel calculation was performed to study the detailed reaction mechanism of the one-neutron stripping process in^(6)*** calculations indicated that the first excited state of 5 Li is critical in the actual one-neutron transfer mechanism,and the valence proton of 209Bi can be excited to the low-lying excited state in(^(6)Li,^(5)Li)reaction,unlike in the(d,p)reaction.
