Controllable Synthesis of Mixed-Phase TiO_2 with Small Anatase and Rutile Particle and Its Enhanced Photocatalytic Activity

Mixed-phase TiO_2 photocatalysts with small particle size of anatase and rutile(~5 nm) have been successfully synthesized using hydrothermal method. The effects of curing temperature and curing time before the hydrothermal treatment on the crystalline phase, the phase composition, and the particle size of TiO_2 were investigated by the X-ray diffraction spectroscopy(XRD) and the transmission electron microscopy(TEM), respectively. It was found that the anatase and rutile phase contents in the TiO_2 particles were successfully controlled by simply adjusting the curing temperature and the curing time. More importantly, the particle size of both anatase and rutile is small in the mixed-phase TiO_2 particles. The photocatalytic activity of TiO_2 was evaluated by the degradation of Rhodamine B(Rh B) in aqueous solution. The Ti O2 with phase junction formed by anatase and rutile exhibited higher separation rate between the photo-induced electrons and holes, which was confirmed by the surface photovoltage(SPV) spectra, and at the same time exhibited the higher photocatalytic degradation on Rh B than pure anatase-phase TiO_2. Moreover, it was found that TiO_2 with 83% of anatase and 17% of rutile showed a highest photocatalytic activity among the mixed-phase TiO_2 samples.

After spinal cord injury,the number of glial cells and motor neurons expressing bone morphogenetic protein 7（BMP7）increases,indicating that upregulation of BMP7 can promote nerve ***,therefore,tested whether direct injection of BMP7 into acutely injured ratalalo createrywith 50 ng BMP7（BMP7 group）or physiological saline（control group）for 7 consecutive *** examination showed that the amplitude of N1 in motor evoked potentials（MEP）decreased after spinal cord *** 8 weeks post-operation,the amplitude of N1 in the BMP7 group was remarkably higher than that at 1 week post-operation and was higher than that of the control ***,Beattie,Bresnahan scale（BBB）scores,hematoxylin-eosin staining,and western blot assay showed that at 1,2,4 and 8 weeks post-operation,BBB scores were increased;Nissl body staining was stronger;the number of Nissl-stained bodies was increased;the number of vacuoles gradually decreased;the number of synapses was increased;and the expression of neuronal marker,neurofilament protein 200,was increased in the hind limbs of the BMP7 group compared with the control *** blot assay showed that the expression of GFAP protein in BMP7 group and control group did not change significantly and there was no significant difference between the BMP7 and control *** data confirmed that local injection of BMP7 can promote neuronal regeneration after spinal cord injury and promote recovery of motor function in rats.

A 28-year-old man presented with anemia symptoms and intermittent tarry stool passage for three days. No stigmata of hemorrhage were identified using esophagogastroduodenoscopy, ileocolonoscopy, and contrast-enhanced computed tomography. He then developed massive tarry stool passage with profound hypovolemic shock and hypoxic respiratory failure. Emergent angiography revealed active bleeder, probably from the jejunal branches of the superior mesenteric artery, but embolization was not performed due to possible subsequent extensive bowel ischemia. His airway was secured via endotracheal intubation with ventilator support, and emergent antegrade singleballoon enteroscopy was performed at 8 h after clinical overt bleeding occurrence; the procedure revealed a 2-cm pulsating subepithelial tumor with a protrudingblood plug at the distal jejunum. Laparoscopic segmental resection of the jejunum with end-to-end anastomosis was performed after emergent endoscopic tattooing localization. Pathological examination revealed a vascular malformation in the submucosa with an organizing thrombus. He was uneventfully discharged 5 d later. This case report highlights the benefit of early deep enteroscopy for the treatment of small intestinal bleeding.

High-voltage lithium metal batteries(LMBs)have been considered promising next-generation highenergy-density ***,commercial carbonate electrolytes can scarcely be employed in LMBs owing to their poor compatibility with metallic lithium.N,N-dimethylacrylamide(DMAA)-a crosslinkable solubilizer with a high Gutmann donor number-is employed to facilitate the dissolution of insoluble lithium nitrate(LiNO3)in carbonate-based electrolytes and to form gel polymer electrolytes(GPEs)through in situ *** Lit solvation structure of the GPEs is regulated using LiNO3 and DMAA,which suppresses the decomposition of LiPFe and facilitates the formation of an inorganic-rich solid electrolyte ***,the Coulombic efficiency(CE)of the LillCu cell assembled with a GPE increases to 98.5%at room temperature,and the high-voltage LillNCM622 cell achieves a capacity retention of 80.1%with a high CE of 99.5%after 400 *** bifunctional polymer electrolytes are anticipated to pave the way for next-generation high-voltage LMBs.

In order to study the effect of different recycled fine aggregate and recycled coarse aggregate substitution rate on the sulfate resistance of recycled concrete under dry-wet cycle conditions,the substitution rate of recycled fine aggregate and recycled coarse aggregate was designed to be 0%/0%,10%/0%,0%/25%,10%/25%,0%/50%and 10%/50%of the six groups of mixture *** mass loss rate and relative dynamic modulus of each group of test blocks were tested respectively and the optimal ratio was *** Wiener distribution probability method was used to establish the reliability function to optimize the remaining life of the *** results show that the dynamic elastic modulus and mass show a trend of increasing first and then decreasing during the dry-wet cycles of *** recycled concrete has the strongest resistance to sulfate attack under the substitution rate of recycled fine aggregate and recycled coarse aggregate is 10%and 0%,and the test blocks will be damaged after being subjected to 182 times of dry-wet cycles of *** effect of recycled coarse aggregate on the sulfate attack resistance of the test block is more obvious than that of the recycled fine aggregate,which leads to the durability of the concrete being greatly reduced.

Trabeculectomy is the mainstay of surgical glaucoma treatment,while the success rate was unsatistying due to postoperative scarring of the filtering *** countermeasures for scar prevention are intraoperative intervention or repeated subconjunctival ***,we designed a codelivery system capable of transporting fluorouracil and anti-TGF-β2 oligonucleotide to synergistically inhibit fibroblast proliferation via topical *** co-delivery system was built based on a cationic dendrimer core(PAMAM),which encapsulated fluorouracil within hydrophobic cavity and condensed oligonucleotide with surface amino groups,and was further modified with hyaluronic acid and cell-penetrating peptide *** co-delivery system was self-assembled into nanoscale complexes with increased cellular uptake and enabled efficient inhibition on proliferation of fibroblast *** vivo studies on rabbit trabeculectomy models further confirmed the anti-fibrosis efficiency of the complexes,which prolonged survival time of filtering blebs and maintained their height and extent during wound healing process,exhibiting an equivalent effect on scar prevention compared to intraoperative infiltration with *** observation by immunohistochemistry staining and quantitative analysis by Western blotting both suggested that TGF-β2 expression was inhibited by the co-delivery *** study provided a potential approach promising to guarantee success rate of trabeculectomy and prolong survival time of filtering blebs.

A numerical model was developed to simulate the flow around non-submeged groyne in two dimensions, which was based on N-S equations with Smagorinsky's subgrid-scale turbulence model. Flow phenomenon and results measured practically agree with the calculation results very well, and this model could be used to simulate the characteristics of the eddies of upper and down reaches around spur-dikes successfully.

BACKGROUND Abdominal aortic aneurysm(AAA)repair often involves significant postoperative pain,traditionally managed with systemic opioids,which can cause undesirable side *** case report explores the novel use of a surgically-initiated rectus sheath block with a catheter-over-needle assembly for pain management in AAA *** SUMMARY A 67-year-old female with hypertension and previous aortic dissection underwent elective open repair of an infrarenal AAA,which had grown from 3.4 cm to 4.3 cm over 14 months.A rectus sheath block was initiated surgically for postoperative pain *** patient reported low pain scores and did not require systemic intravenous opioids,enabling early ambulation and discharge on postoperative day seven without *** preventing complications of systemic opi-oids,the method indicating a promising direction for postoperative pain management in major vascular *** Surgically-initiated rectus sheath block as a valuable tool for managing postoperative pain in AAA repair.

Two different order reduction methods of the deterministic and stochastic systems are discussed in this ***,the transient proper orthogonal decomposition(T-POD)method is introduced based on the high-dimensional nonlinear dynamic *** optimal order reduction conditions of the T-POD method are provided by analyzing the rotor-bearing system with pedestal looseness fault at both *** efficiency of the T-POD method is verified via comparing with the results of the original ***,the polynomial dimensional decomposition(PDD)method is applied to the 2 DOFs spring system considering the uncertain stiffness to study the amplitude-frequency *** numerical results obtained by the PDD method agree well with the Monte Carlo simulation(MCS)*** results of the PDD method can approximate to MCS better with the increasing of the polynomial ***,the Uniform-Legendre polynomials can eliminate perturbation of the PDD method to a certain extent via comparing it with the Gaussian-Hermite polynomials.
