Heavy metals⁃polluted water has negative impact on the *** Malaysia,minimum discharge limit for Cu^(2+)and Zn^(2+)are 1 mg/L and 2 mg/L,*** is a highly porous adsorbent and its performance is affected by various factors,including contact time and ***,the objective of this study is to identify an ideal operating condition to treat Cu^(2+)and Zn^(2+)solutions up to the allowable discharge limit,by considering the pH and contact time *** kinetic models were studied to identify the adsorption mechanism of the heavy metal removal *** solute batch adsorption experiment was conducted within pH 3-11 from 30 to 150 *** showed that hydration enthalpy(ΔHhyd)governed the selectivity of heavy metals,where a maximum of 90.87%Zn^(2+)(ΔH_(hyd)=-1955 kJ/mol)and 82.15%Cu^(2+)(ΔH_(hyd)=-2010 kJ/mol)removals were found at pH≥*** pH adjustment,selectivity towards Cu^(2+)was higher compared with Zn^(2+)due to the size of hydration radii,where Cu^(2+)is 0.11Åsmaller than Zn^(2+).By considering both pH and contact time factors,this study shows that by adjusting the pH of Zn^(2+)solutions to a minimum pH value of 7,the contact time required to achieve maximum Zn^(2+)removal rate was 90%,which can be achieved within 60 ***,zeolite performed better in Cu^(2+)removal without any pH adjustment where a maximum of 94%was achieved at 120 *** concentration of 0.523 mg/L Cu^(2+)and 0.981 mg/L Zn^(2+)were obtained in this *** study showed that Ritchie’s equation predicted Cu^(2+)adsorption the best,while Zn^(2+)adsorption could be represented by Elovich *** suggested that the adsorption on the activate site governed Cu^(2+)and Zn^(2+)removal ***,future work should focus on modifying zeolite surface to improve the adsorptive performance.

Nasopharyngeal carcinoma(NPC)is a malignant disease associated with Epstein–Barr virus(EBV)*** study aims to examine the effects of EBV infection on the production of proinflammatory cytokines in NPC cells after the Zn-BC-AM photodynamic therapy(PDT)*** were treated with the photosensitiser Zn-BC-AM for 24 h before light *** ELISA was used to evaluate the production of *** the same experimental condition,HK-1-EBV cells produced a higher basal level of IL-1a(1561 pg/ml),IL-1b(16.6 pg/ml)and IL-8(422.9 pg/ml)than the HK-1 *** the light dose of 0.25–0.5 J/cm2,Zn-BC-AM PDT-treated HK-1-EBV cells were found to produce a higher level of IL-1a and IL-1b than the HK-1 *** production of IL-1b appeared to be mediated via the IL-1b-converting enzyme(ICE)-independent *** contrast,the production of angiogenic IL-8 was downregulated in both HK-1 and HK-1-EBV cells after Zn-BC-AM *** results suggest that Zn-BC-AM PDT might indirectly reduce tumour growth through the modulation of cytokine production.

探讨资深教练对一个旨在推动和促进新篮球教练员培训质量的结构化指导课程的评价为目的。12名资深教练(其中1名女性教练)受邀参与了本研究,采用自我决定理论设计培养教练员的训练课程项目,采用关注性小组访谈作为资料收集法,让资深教练针对应用自我决定理论的训练课程提出意见。结果显示,此训练课程提供学员一个独特而积极的学习经验。教练员认为,可以通过这个课程获得教练知识并促进技能。本研究结果为今后推广有效的教练培训框架,以及结构化的辅导计划,提高新教练员学习专业知识和提高培训质量提供了新方向。

Intra-tumor heterogeneity(ITH) is a key challenge in cancer treatment, but previous studies have focused mainly on the genomic alterations without exploring phenotypic(transcriptomic and immune)heterogeneity. Using one of the largest prospective surgical cohorts for hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)with multi-region sampling, we sequenced whole genomes and paired transcriptomes from 67 HCC patients(331 samples). We found that while genomic ITH was rather constant across stages, phenotypic ITH had a very different trajectory and quickly diversified in stage Ⅱ patients. Most strikingly, 30% of patients were found to contain more than one transcriptomic subtype within a single tumor. Such phenotypic ITH was found to be much more informative in predicting patient survival than genomic ITH and explains the poor efficacy of single-target systemic therapies in HCC. Taken together, we not only revealed an unprecedentedly dynamic landscape of phenotypic heterogeneity in HCC, but also highlighted the importance of studying phenotypic evolution across cancer types.

AIM： TO evaluate the diagnostic accuracy, sensitivity, specificity of contrast-enhanced computed tomographic colonography in detecting local recurrence of colorectal cancer. METHODS： From January 2000 to December 2004, 434 patients after potentially curative resection for invasive colorectal cancer were followed up for a period ranging from 20 to 55 mo. Eighty of the four hundred and thirty-four patients showing strong clinical evidence for recurring colorectal cancer during the last followup were enrolled in this study. Each patient underwent contrast-enhanced computed tomographic colonography and colonoscopy on the same day. Any lesions, biopsies, identified during the colonoscopic examination, immediate complications and the duration of the procedure were recorded. The results of contrast-enhanced computed tomographic colonography were evaluated by comparing to those of colonoscopy, surgical finding, and clinical follow-up. RESULTS： Contrast-enhanced computed tomographic colonography had a sensitivity of 100%, a specificity of 83% and an overall accuracy of 94% in detecting local recurrent colorectal cancer. CONCLUSION： Conventional colonoscopy and contrastenhanced tomographic colonography can complement each other in detecting local recurrence of colorectal cancer.
