Comparative Analysis of Site Preparation Costs of Poplar Plantations Establishment by Various Technological Schemes

In this work, the costs for machinery and all means for site preparation of forest clearings for afforestation with intensivepoplar plantations were studied by applying various technological schemes. For this purpose, three technological schemes （TS1,TS2and TS3）, applying in bulgaria, were studied. by applying the respective technological scheme, the site preparation was performedentirely with a milling aggregate PT-400, equipped with multifunctional forest tiller FAE-300/S. The processes of shredding stumps,mulching clearing debris and bushes, and primary tillage of the soil up to depth of 50 cm were examined. The survey was conductedin poplar clearings along the river Danube, over alluvial moderately moist soil. A new categorization of the poplar clearings isproposed depending on the operating conditions. The performance of the milling unit and the relative costs for labor, machinery andmeans for site preparation per unit area were defined. Depending on the category of poplar clearings, total cost for site preparationapplying the studied technology vary between 27.6 h/ha and 29.3 h/ha, which at current prices of 53.5 ∈/h for the operation of PT-400with FAE 300/S is between ∈1,478/ha and ∈1,569/ha. To conduct comparative analysis of the new technology and the oldtechnologies under similar operating conditions, the relatively costs for site preparation of the previously applied technologies whichuse rotary and tooth uprooter machines are defmed. According to the applied technological scheme and used machines in differentcategories, clearings costs for land preparation vary between ∈1,230/ha and ∈3,300/ha. based on comparative analysis, it is designeda new technological scheme for afforestation with poplar plantations in riverside clearings, where by ensuring high quality work, thecosts for site preparation become lower （24.2-25.9 h/ha） and thus cost from ∈993/ha to 61,084/ha is achieved.

Asynchronous Approach to Memory Management in Sparse Multifrontal Methods on Multiprocessors

This research covers the Intel? Direct Sparse Solver for Clusters, the software that implements a direct method for solving the Ax = b equation with sparse symmetric matrix A on a cluster. This method, researched by Intel, is based on Cholesky decomposition and could be considered as extension of functionality PARDISO from Intel??MKL. To achieve an efficient work balance on a large number of processes, the so-called “multifrontal” approach to Cholesky decomposition is implemented. This software implements parallelization that is based on nodes of the dependency tree and uses MPI, as well as parallelization inside a node of the tree that uses OpenMP directives. The article provides a high-level description of the algorithm to distribute the work between both computational nodes and cores within a single node, and between different computational nodes. A series of experiments shows that this implementation causes no growth of the computational time and decreases the amount of memory needed for the computations.

A Novel Method of Fruit Raw Material Reprocessing

We introduced a method of deep resources-economy reprocessing of fruit raw material. based on the raw material fractionation at decreased temperatures the method results in the production of bioactive food stuffs, which are dry juice and refuse and natural water. The method includes the production of directly extracted juice and pulp refuse, juice evaporation in vacuum with the production of concentrate and natural water, and air drying the concentrate and the refuse. The method is realized for garden strawberry and cucurbit pulp. The mass concentration of solid in the fractions of cucurbit pulp is defined and the specific weight of the fractions are defined. It is shown that the solid of the cucurbit pulp is uniformly allocated between the fractions and amounts 34% for the dry juice, 31% for the dry refuse, and 35% for the natural water. Food and biological values of the cucurbit pulp fractions are determined. It is determined that the cucurbit includes silicium, nickel, and chromium. Silicium is contained only in dry fractions;nickel is present everywhere;chromium is discovered only in the natural water. Food and biological values of the cucurbit pulp are defined and their allocation between the fractions is determined. Separate components concentrations of the solid considerably differ between the fractions. Thus, two thirds of pulp protein is concentrated in the dry juice and a third is concentrated in the refuse. The natural water contains up to 90% of fat and sugar, from a half to two thirds of b-group vitamins, and the bulk of the mineral substances (K, Na, Ca, Mg, S, Co, Cu, Ni, Cr, and Zn), which concentration composes from 73% for potassium up to 100% for chromium.

Chronic hepatitis C virus infection:Prevalence of extrahepatic manifestations and association with cryoglobulinemia in bulgarian patients

AIM: To assess the prevalence of extrahepatic manifestations in bulgarian patients with chronic hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection and identify the clinical and biological manifestations associated with cryoglobulinemia. METHODS: The medical records of 136 chronically infected HCV patients were reviewed to assess the prevalence of extrahepatic manifestations. Association between cryoglobulin-positivity and other manifestations were identified using χ2 and Fisher’s exact test. Risk factors for the presence of extrahepatic manifestations were assessed by logistic regression analysis. RESULTS: Seventy six percent (104/136) of the patients had at least one extrahepatic manifestation. Clinical manifestations included fatigue (59.6%), kidney impairment (25.0%), type 2 diabetes (22.8%), paresthesia (19.9%), arthralgia (18.4%), palpable purpura (17.6%), lymphadenopathy (16.2%), pulmonary fi brosis (15.4%), thyroid dysfunction (14.7%), Raynaud’s phenomenon (11.8%), b-cell lymphoma (8.8%), sicca syndrome (6.6%), and lichen planus (5.9%). The biological manifestations included cryoglobulinproduction (37.5%), thrombocytopenia (31.6%), and autoantibodies: anti-nuclear (18.4%), anti-smooth muscle (16.9%), anti-neutrophil cytoplasm (13.2%) and anti-cardiolipin (8.8%). All extrahepatic manifestations showed an association with cryoglobulin-positivity, with the exception of thyroid dysfunction, sicca syndrome, and lichen planus. Risks factors for the presence of extrahepatic manifestations (univariate analysis) were: age ≥ 60 years, female gender, virus transmission by blood transfusions, longstanding infection (≥ 20 years), and extensive liver fi brosis. The most signifi cant risks factors (multivariate analysis) were longstanding infection and extensive liver fi brosis. CONCLUSION: We observed a high prevalence of extrahepatic manifestations in patients with chronic HCV infection. Ammonia and phosphorus removal from using cash crop waste-derived agricultural runoff biochars

Adsorption of biochars(bC)produced from cash crop residuals is an economical and practical technology for removing nutrients from agricultural *** this study,b C made of orange tree trunks and tea tree twigs from the Laoguanhe basin were produced and modified by aluminum chloride(Al-modified)and ferric sulfate solutions(Fe-modified)under various pyrolysis temperatures(200℃-600℃)and residence times(2-5 h).All produced and modified b C were further analyzed for their abilities to adsorb ammonia and phosphorus with initial concentrations of 10-40 mg/L and 4-12 mg/L,***-modified Tea Tree b C 2h/400℃showed the highest phosphorus adsorption capacity of 0.56 mg/***-modified Orange Tree b C 3h/500℃showed the best performance for ammonia removal with an adsorption capacity of 1.72 mg/*** characterization showed that P=O bonds were formed after the adsoiption of phosphorus by modified bC,N-H bonds were formed after ammonia adsorption.X P S analysis revealed that the key process of ammonia adsorption was the ion exchange between K+and N H *** adsorption was related to oxidation and interaction between PO43-and Fe3+.According to X R D results,ammonia was found in the form of potassium amide,while phosphorus was found in the form of iron hydrogen *** sorption isotherms showed that the Freundlich equation fits better for phosphorus adsorption,while the Langmuir equation fits better for ammonia *** simulated runoff infiltration experiment showed that 97.3%of ammonia was removed by Al-modified Orange tree b C 3h/500℃,and 92.9%of phosphorus was removed by Fe-modified Tea tree b C 2h/400℃.

boron nitride nanotube growth via boron oxide assisted chemical vapor transport-deposition process using LiNO3 as a promoter

High-purity straight and discrete multiwalled boron nitride nanotubes （bNNTs） were grown via a boron oxide vapor reaction with ammonia using LiNO3 as a promoter. Only a trace amount of boron oxide was detected as an impurity in the bNNTs by energy-dispersive X-ray （EDX） and Raman spectroscopies. boron oxide vapor was generated from a mixture of b, FeO, and MgO powders heated to 1,150 ℃, and it was transported to the reaction zone by flowing ammonia. Lithium nitrate was applied to the upper side of a bN bar from a water solution. The bar was placed along a temperature gradient zone in a horizontal tubular furnace. bNNTs with average diameters of 30-50 nm were mostly observed in a temperature range of 1,280-1,320 ℃. At higher temperatures, curled polycrystalline bN fibers appeared. Above 1,320 ℃, the number of bNNTs drastically decreased, whereas the quantity and diameter of the fibers increased. The mechanism of bNNT and fiber growth is proposed and discussed.

Nanoparticles(NPs)can be transported via the nose-to-brain(N_(2)b)***,quantitative data on their spatiotemporal dynamics and regulation of the N_(2)b transport are largely *** surveyed metal oxide/hydroxide NPs as magnetic resonance imaging(MRI)contrasts for quantitative N_(2)b *** containing divalent transition metals were the only ones capable of N_(2)b *** T1-weighted(T1W)MRI,we showed that Mn_(3)O_(4)-NPs were readily engulfed by olfactory receptor neurons(ORNs)without disrupting olfactory sensing,we mapped their N_(2)b *** neurons,the Mn_(3)O_(4)-NPs were localized to the cytosol,mitochondria,vesicles,moved at mixed fast and slow axonal transport velocities intraand extra-vesicularly through *** NPs’axonal transport is dependent on neuronal activity and microtubule *** Mn_(3)O_(4)-NPs were trans-synaptically transmitted through at least four synapses across the olfactory ***-synaptic transmission of the NPs was dependent on N-type Ca^(2+)channels and NMDA receptors but blocked by GAbAb receptor activation.A five-parameter Weibull signal increase/decrease model fitted to the T1W MRI data allowed for estimating kinetic parameters of Mn_(3)O_(4)-NP accumulation/*** and relative accumulation rates,but not elimination,correlated negatively with the number of synapses from ORNs,indicating a coupling of the NPs’N_(2)b transport with spontaneous neuronal ***,olfactory stimuli(2,5-dimethylpyrazine and acetophenone)significantly modulated and rerouted the Mn_(3)O_(4)-NP N_(2)b transport odor ***,the NPs’trans-synaptic transmission was impaired by aging and the onset of Parkinson’s *** data suggest new approaches to diagnostics,functional neuroimaging,controlling N_(2)b drug delivery.
