An efficient solution-processable route employing Pb(Ac)2 as lead source and anti-solvent treatment to achieve fully covered and homogenous perovskite films is reported. The effect of different solution methods and device architectures on the morphologies of perovskite films were systematically investigated. Our results show that the planar perovskite layer fabricated by one-step solution method achieved fully covered and pinhole-free films. Further anti-solvent treatment using chlorobenzene (CB) promoted a perovskite film with highly smooth surfaces and enlarged grain sizes. Device fabricated from CB treated perovskite film achieved a best PCE of 15.80%, in comparison with 14.02%for the untreated device. These results evidently suggest a feasible route towards controlling the crystallization and morphology of planar heterojunction (PHJ) PSCs for improved efficiency.

Hybrid organolead halide perovskites have attracted tremendous attention due to their recent success as high efficiency solar cell materials and their fascinating material properties uniquely suitable for optoelectronic devices. However, the poor ambient and operational stability as well as the concern of lead toxicity greatly hamper their practical utilization. In this work, crystalline, all-inorganic and lead-free Cs_(3)Sb_(2)I_(9) perovskite microplates are successfully synthesized by a two-step chemical vapor deposition method. As compared with other typical lead-free perovskite materials, the Cs_(3)Sb_(2)I_(9) microplates demonstrate excellent optoelectronic properties, including substantial enhancements in the Stokes shift, exciton binding energy and electron-phonon coupling. Simple photoconductive devices fabricated using these microplates exhibit an ultra-fast response with the rise and decay time constants down to 96 and 58 µs, respectively. This respectable photoconductor performance can be regarded as a record among all the lead-free perovskite materials. Importantly, these photodetectors show superior thermal stability in a wide temperature range, capable to function reversibly between 80 and 380 K, indicating their robustness to operate under both low and high temperatures. All these results evidently suggest the technological potential of inorganic lead-free Cs_(3)Sb_(2)I_(9) perovskite microplates for next-generation high-performance optoelectronic devices.

Designing highly efficient and low-cost electrocatalysts for oxygen evolution reaction is important for many renewable energy *** particular,strain engineering has been demonstrated as a powerful strategy to enhance the electrochemical performance of catalysts;however,the required complex catalyst preparation process restricts the implementation of strain ***,we report a simple self-template method to prepare hierarchical porous Co_(3)O_(4)nanowires(PNWs)with tunable compressive strain via thermal-oxidation-transformation of easily prepared oxalic acid-cobalt nitrate(Co(NO_(3))_(2))composite *** on the complementary theoretical and experimental studies,the selection of proper solvents in the catalyst preparation is not only vital for the hierarchical structural evolution of Co_(3)O_(4) but also for regulating their compressive surface *** of the rich surface active sites and optimized electronic Co d band centers,the PNWs exhibit the excellent activity and stability for oxygen evolution reaction,delivering a low overpotential of 319 mV at 10 mA·cm^(−2)in 1 M KOH with a mass loading 0.553 mg·cm^(−2),which is even better than the noble metal catalyst of RuO_(2).This work provides a cost-effective example of porous Co_(3)O_(4)nanowire preparation as well as a promising method for modification of surface strain for the enhanced electrochemical performance.

The Sustainable Wetland Management adopted for this study depicts that, the identification of drivers and impacts is needed first, in other to get a clearer roadmap, after which the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework would come into play to serve as a pathway for Sustainability. The study evaluates how Sierra Leone might implement the Framework’s proposed strategies in National Wetland Management. As a result, the research tried to thoroughly examine the factors that contribute to wetland degradation as well as the effects they have on the people who live nearby. The purposive sampling method was used to administer 385 structured questionnaires to inhabitants. The data was then processed in an Excel spreadsheet. Microsoft Publisher was used to draw the framework and a descriptive analysis was done. Results indicated that;the majority of the inhabitants of Aberdeen Creek are traders/self-employed, furthermore, the majority chose the place because it’s less expensive and nearer to the workplace, settlement expansion and pollution are the two most common degrading activities, while flooding and health-related issues are some of the consequences, and the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework is regarded to be a perfect tool for wetland management. It was concluded that to accomplish the objectives in the framework, it is necessary to have both political and social will. Satellite data and water quality research are further needed to validate the report.

Integrated Geological and Geophysical Mapping for Groundwater Potential Studies at Ekwegbe-Agu and Environs, Enugu State, Nigeria

The study integrates both the geological and geophysical mapping techniques for groundwater potential studies at Ekwegbe-Agu and the environs, Enugu state, Nigeria for optimal citing of borehole. Located in the Anambra Basin between latitudes 6˚43'N and 6˚47'N and longitudes 7˚28'E and 7˚32'E, it is stratigraphycally underlain by, from bottom to top, the Enugu/Nkporo, Mamu and Ajali Formation respectively, a complex geology that make citing of productive borehole in the area problematic leading to borehole failure and dry holes due to inadequate sampling. The study adopted a field and analytic sampling approach, integrating field geological, electrical resistivity and self-potential methods. The software, SedLog v3.1, InterpexIx1Dv.3, and Surfer v10 were employed for the data integration and interpretation. The result of the geological field and borehole data shows 11 sedimentary facies consisting of sandstone, shales and heterolith of sandstone/shale, with the aquifer zone mostly prevalent in the more porous sand-dominated horizons. Mostly the AK and HK were the dominant curve types. An average of 6 geo-electric layers were delineated across all transects with resistivity values ranging from 25.42 - 105.85 Ωm, 186.38 - 3383.3 Ωm, and 2992 - 6286.4 Ωm in the Enugu, Mamu and Ajali Formations respectively. The resistivity of the main aquifer layer ranges from 1 to 500 Ωm. The aquifer thickness within the study area varies between 95 and 140 m. The western and northwestern part of the study area which is underlain mainly by the Ajali Formation showed the highest groundwater potential in the area and suitable for citing productive boreholes.

Perception of Medical Students towards Hepatitis B Virus Infection and Hepatitis B Vaccination in a Private Tertiary Hospital in Jos North Local Government, Plateau State, Nigeria

Background: Prevention is one of the safe schemes against the high prevalence of viral Hepatitis. Negative perceptions or perceptions about the risks of hepatitis B among medical students and health care workers may influence the behavioral pattern and adoption of preventive measures against the virus and can affect the uptake of the Hepatitis B vaccine. This study assesses the perception of medical students towards Hepatitis B virus infection and Hepatitis B Vaccination in a Private Tertiary Hospital in Jos North Local Government, Plateau State, Nigeria. Methods: This was a descriptive cross-sectional study done in August 2021 among 236 clinical medical students using a multistage sampling technique. Data was collected using an interviewer-administered structured questionnaire and analysed using the IBM SPSS 28 (Statistical Package for the Social Sciences). Ethical approval was granted by Bingham University Teaching Hospital, Ethics Committee, Jos, Plateau State. Results: Two-thirds of respondents were of the opinion that they are at risk of contracting HBV. Half were of the opinion that the risk is very much while a third believed the risk is moderate. Among those who think they are not at risk of contracting HBV, the majority felt so because they are vaccinated while 10.3% believe that they are safe. 43.2% of respondents think that HBV Vaccine is very effective in preventing HBV infection while 39.8% think it is slightly effective, and 7.6% think it is not effective. Almost all respondents, 99.2% are of the opinion that HBV Vaccination is important for students while 0.8% think it is not important. The majority of the respondents at 95.8% were willing to be screened for HBV. The majority (85.6%) of respondents are willing to pay for HBV Vaccine as against 14.4% of respondents who are not willing to pay. Background: Hospital Acquired Infections (HAIs) remain a common cause of death, functional disability, emotional suffering and economic burden among hospitalized patients. Knowledge of HAIs is important in its prevention and control. This study seeks to assess the knowledge of Hospital Acquired Infections (HAIs) among medical students in a Tertiary Hospital in Jos North Local Government Area, Plateau State, Nigeria. Methods: This was a descriptive cross-sectional study done in October 2019 among clinical medical students using a Multistage sampling technique. Data was collected using a self-administered structured questionnaire and analyzed using the IBM SPSS 20 (Statistical Package for the Social Sciences). Ethical approval was granted by Bingham University Teaching Hospital, Ethics Committee, Jos, Plateau State. Results: A total of 219 students in the clinical arm of the College of Medicine and Health Sciences were selected. A higher proportion (97.7%) of respondents knew about Hospital Acquired Infections and 85.4% knew that Hospital Acquired infections occur in the hospital, and (86.3%) considered patients contagious with half (58.9%) considered patients as the most important source of HAIs, followed by care givers (13.2%), then doctors including medical students and interns (10.0%) and lastly nurses (8.7%). The majority of respondents (70.8%) considered Surgical Wound Infections to be the most commonly occurring HAI, followed by UTIs (69.9%), RTIs (61.2%), BSIs (37.0%) and others (0.9%). The clinical thermometer was the instrument that most commonly transmits HAIs (82.6%), then followed by stethoscope (62.1%), white coats (53.9%), and blood pressure cuff (51.1%). Most respondents knew the infectious substances, like blood (96.3%), nasal discharge (82.6%), saliva (85.3%), and faeces (79.4%) transmitted HAIs, 72.6% of the respondents said that they were aware of the recommended hand washing techniques by WHO.
