Investiga.ing how crop domestica.ion a.d ea.ly fa.ming media.ed crop a.tributes, distributions, a.d intera.tions with a.ta.onists ma. shed light on toda.'s a.ricultura. pest problems. Crop domestica.ion genera.ly involved a.tificia. selection for tra.ts desira.le to ea.ly fa.mers, for exa.ple, in crea.ed productivity or yield, a.d enha.ced qua.ities, though inva.ia.ly it a.tered the intera.tions between crops a.d insects, a.d expa.ded the geogra.hica. ra.ges of crops. Thus, some studies suggest tha. with crop domestica.ion a.d sprea., insect popula.ions on wild crop a.cestors ga.e rise to pestiferous insect popula.ions on crops. Here, we a.dressed whether the emergence of corn lea.hopper (Da.bulus ma.id is) a. a. a.ricultura. pest ma. be a.socia.ed with domestica.ion a.d ea.ly sprea. of ma.ze (Zea.ma.s ma.s). We used a.lP ma.kers a.d mitochondria. COI sequences to a.sess popula.ion genetic structuring a.d ha.lotype rela.ionships a.ong corn lea.hopper sa.ples from ma.ze a.d its wild rela.ive Zea.diploperennis from multiple loca.ions in Mexico a.d a.gentina. We uncovered seven corn lea.hopper ha.lotypes conta.ned within two ha.logroups, one ha.logroup conta.ning ha.lotypes a.socia.ed with ma.ze a.d the other conta.ning ha.lotypes a.socia.ed with Z. diploperennis in a.mounta.nous ha.ita.. Within the first ha.logroup, one ha.lotype wa. predomina.t a.ross Mexica. loca.ions, a.d a.other a.ross a.gentinea. loca.ions;both were considered pestiferous. Photosystem II （PSII）, a.membra.e protein complex, ca.a.yzes the photochemica. oxida.ion of wa.er to molecula. oxygen. This enzyme complex consists of a.proxima.ely 20 stoichiometric protein components. However, due to the highly energetic rea.tions it ca.a.yzes a. pa.t of its norma. a.tivity, PSII is continuously da.a.ed a.d repa.red. With a.va.ces in protein detection technologies, a. increa.ing number of sub-stoichiometric PSII proteins ha.e been identified, ma.y of which a.d in the biogenesis a.d a.sembly of this protein complex. Psb32 （SII1390） ha. previously been identified a. a.protein a.socia.ed with highly a.tive purified PSII prepa.a.ions from the cya.oba.terium Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803. To investiga.e its function, the subcellula. loca.iza.ion of Psb32 a.d the impa.t of deletion of the psb32 gene on PSII were a.a.yzed. Here, we show tha. Psb32 is a. integra. membra.e protein, prima.ily loca.ed in the thyla.oid membra.es. a.- though not required for cell via.ility, Psb32 protects cells from oxida.ive stress a.d a.ditiona.ly confers a.selective fitness a.va.ta.e in mixed culture experiments. Specifica.ly, Psb32 protects PSII from photoda.a.e a.d a.celera.es its repa.r. Thus, the da.a.suggest tha. Psb32 pla.s a. importa.t role in minimizing the effect of photoinhibition on PSII.

Non-huma. a.d non-English la.gua.e studies were excluded. Sea.ch results were reviewed by a.thors toselect a.ticles tha. a.dressed sa.ety a.d effica.y of immuniza.ions in infla.ma.ory bowel *** a.tota. of 51 pa.ients dia.nosed with IBD prior to the a.e of 10 a.d receiving a.ti-TNF-α thera.y were identified. Thirty-three percent of pa.ients(17/51) ha. incomplete or no documenta.ion of va.cina.ions. Sixteen ca.e reports, cohort studies, cross-sectiona. studies, a.d ra.domized tria.s were determined through review of the litera.ure to describe the sa.ety a.d effica.y of hepa.itis B, pneumococca., a.d va.icella.immuniza.ions in a.ult a.d pedia.ric pa.ients with IBD. These studies showed tha. pa.ients sa.ely tolera.ed the va.cines without significa.t a.verse effects. Importa.tly, IBD pa.ients receiving immunosuppressive medica.ions, pa.ticula.ly a.ti-TNF-α trea.ment, ha.e decrea.ed va.cine response compa.ed to controls. However, the ma.ority of pa.ients a.e still a.le to a.hieve protective levels of specific a.tibodies. Cha.ges of resista.ce to pyrethroid insecticide a.socia.ed with use of a.pour-on formula.ion of cyfluthrin in 2002 a.d use of dia.inon ea. ta.s in subsequent yea.s were studied using a.filter pa.er bioa.sa. technique a.d a.polymera.e cha.n rea.tion a.sa. tha. detects two sodium cha.nel muta.ions, kdr a.d super-kdr resista.ce a.leles. a.ma.imum of 294-fold resista.ce to permethrin wa. observed in the summer of 2002. a.significa.t decrea.e in the resista.ce level wa. observed in spring 2003, a.d resista.ce continued to decline a.ter a.ima.s were trea.ed with dia.inon ea. ta.s. In response to pyrethroid trea.ments, the a.lelic kdr a.d super-kdr frequency increa.ed from 56.3% to 93.8% a.d from 7.5% to 43.8%, respectively in 2002, a.d decrea.ed significa.tly in 2003 when the pyrethroid insecticide wa. no longer used to trea. a.ima.s.
