In the current study,applying simultaneously electroporation and silver nanoparticles(SNPs)are ***,one restriction normally assigned to such nanoparticles is their side effects on the vital organs of the *** mitigate such deleterious effects,it is better to use lower dosages of ***,this can result in a decline in the technique's *** compensate for the lower dose of SNPs,one can use secondary method like electroporation to deliver SNPs directly into the cells and reinforces the effect of electric pulses due to the high electrical conductivity of SNPs while having a minimal cytotoxicity effect on normal cells that are not treated with *** the present study,synergism effects of both procedures(SNPs and electroporation)experimentally and theoretically are considered to investigate the property of each technique in increasing the performance with respect to both procedures'*** investigate more,adaptive neuro-fuzzy inference system(ANFIS)is used to predict the percent cell viability of cancerous cells affected by both procedures by considering amplitude and duration as inputs affecting on change of cell viability as an *** results obtained from both experimental and simulation procedures showed that the maximum synergism between nanoparticles and electric pulses was recorded at 700V/cm strength and 100μs ***,Results indicated high correlation between observed and predicted data(r2=0.88).Moreover,the calculated root mean square error for the results of the ANFIS model was equal to *** implies that the model has practical value and can estimate the percent cell viability of cancerous cells influenced by both procedures with varying electric field amplitude and *** method can be proposed for other biophysical or drug delivery applications to save time and resources by utilizing the previous experimental data rather than performing more experiments.

Most hydrodynamic fluidized bed models, including CFD codes, neglect any effects of the plenum chamber volume. Experiments were performed in a 0.13 m ID fluidization column to determine plenum chamber volume effects on fluidized bed hydrodynamics for FCC and glass particles. Two low-pressure-drop distributors were used, one with a single orifice, and the other with 33 orifices and the same total open area as the single orifice. The results show two peaks in the frequency spectra for the single-orifice distributor, one representing bubble eruption at the bed surface and the other of higher frequency corresponding to the bubbling frequency at the distributor. The latter decreased slightly with increasing plenum volume and with increasing bed depth. For the multi-orifice distributor, broad frequency spectra from pressure measurements became narrower and moved towards higher frequency with decreasing plenum volume.

Cellulose is the main structural component of lignocellulosic wastes that can be converted to sugars and biofuels by *** to wide applications of this enzyme in various industries around the world,cellulase is considered as the third industrial *** ability of thermophilic bacteria in the production of heat-stable cellulases has made them valuable tools in *** aim of this study was isolation and molecular identification of cellulolytic thermophile bacteria from Dig Rostam hot spring and investigating their cellulase *** were taken from water and sediments of this hot spring,and cellulolytic bacteria were enriched in media containing cellulose as the only carbon *** bacteria were incubated at 60℃,and single colonies were then isolated on solid *** red assay was used as a quick test for the qualitative screening of cellulase *** to these qualitative results,four colonies named CDB1,CDB2,CDB3,and CDB4 were isolated,and their growth curve and some other characteristics were determined by biochemical ***,endoglucanase,exoglucanase,and FPase activities of the isolates were investigated *** indicated that CDB1 exhibited the highest endoglucanase(0.096 U/mL)and exoglucanase(0.156 U/mL)activities among other isolates.16S rDNA partial sequencing indicated that CDB1 had 99%similarity to the genus Anoxybacillus,and the other isolates showed the highest similarity to the genus *** cellulase gene of CDB1 isolate with the highest cellulase activity was also cloned,and its sequence is reported for the first *** studies on this thermophilic enzyme might be useful for industrial applications.

Objective： This review examines the evidence that deep brain stimulation （DBS） has extensive impact on nonmotor symptoms （NMSs） of patients with Parkinson＇s disease （PD）. Data Sources： We retrieved information from the PubMed database up to September, 2015, using various search terms and their combinations including PD, NMSs, DBS, globus pallidus internus （gPi）, subthalamic nucleus （STN）, and ventral intermediate thalamic nucleus. Study Selection： We included data from peer-reviewed journals on impacts of DBS on neuropsychological profiles, sensory function, autonomic symptoms, weight changes, and sleep disturbances. For psychological symptoms and cognitive impairment, we tried to use more reliable proofs： Random, control, multicenter, large sample sizes, and long period follow-up clinical studies. We categorized the NMSs into four groups： those that would improve definitively following DBS; those that are not significantly affected by DBS; those that remain controversial on their surgical benefit; and those that can be worsened by DBS. Results： In general, it seems to be an overall beneficial effect of DBS on NMSs, such as sensory, sleep, gastrointestinal, sweating, cardiovascular, odor, urological symptoms, and sexual dysfunction, gPi-DBS may produce similar results; Both STN and gpi-DBS are safe with regard to cognition and psychology over long-term follow-up, though verbal fluency decline is related to DBS： The impact of DBS on behavioral addictions and dysphagia is still uncertain. Conclusions： As the motor effects of STN-DBS and gPi-DBS are similar, NMSs may determine the target choice in surgery of future patients.

Pathological scarring imposes a major clinical and social burden *** cutaneous wounds are responsive to mechanical forces and convert mechanical cues to biochemical signals that eventually promote *** understand the mechanotransduction pathways in cutaneous scarring and develop new mechanotherapy approaches to achieve optimal scarring,the current study highlights the mechanical behavior of unwounded and scarred skin as well as intra-and extracellular mechanisms behind keloid and hypertrophic ***,the therapeutic interventions that promote optimal scar healing by mechanical means at the molecular,cellular or tissue level are extensively *** current literature highlights the significant role of fibroblasts in wound contraction and scar formation via differentiation ***,understanding myofibroblasts and their responses to mechanical loading allows the development of new scar therapeutics.A review of the current clinical and preclinical studies suggests that existing treatment strategies only reduce scarring on a small scale after wound closure and result in poor functional and aesthetic ***,the perspective of mechanotherapies needs to consider the application of both mechanical forces and biochemical cues to achieve optimal ***,early intervention is critical in wound management;thus,mechanoregulation should be conducted during the healing process to avoid scar *** studies should either consider combining mechanical loading(pressure)therapies with tension offloading approaches for scar management or developing more effective early therapies based on contraction-blocking biomaterials for the prevention of pathological scarring.

Intracerebroventricular opiate infusion for refractory head and facial pain

AIM: To study the risks and benefits of intracerebroventricular(ICV) opiate pumps for the management of benign head and face ***: SSix patients with refractory trigeminal neuralgia and/or cluster headaches were evaluated for implantation of an ICV opiate infusion pump using either ICV injections through an Ommaya reservoir or external ventricular drain. Four patients received morphine ICV pumps and two patient S received a hydromorphone pump. Of the Four patients with morphine ICV pumps, one patient had the medication changed to hydromorphone. Preoperative and post-operative visual analog scores(VAS) were obtained. Patients were evaluated post-operatively for a minimum of 3 mo and the pump dosage was adjusted at each outpatient clinic visit according to the patient's pain ***: All 6 patients had an intracerebroventricular opiate injection trial period, using either an Ommaya reservoir or an external ventricular drain. There was an average VAS improvement of 75.8%. During the trial period, no complications were observed. Pump implantation was performed an average of 3.7 wk(range 1-7) after the trial injections. After implantation, an average of 20.7 ± 8.3 dose adjustments were made over 3-56 mo after surgery to achieve maximal pain relief. At the most recent follow-up(26.2 mo, range 3-56), VAS scores significantly improved from an average of 7.8 ± 0.5(range 6-10) to 2.8 ± 0.7(range 0-5) at the final dose(mean improvement 5.0 ± 1.0, P ge, infusion pumps were replaced every 4-5 ***: These results suggest that ICV delivery of opiates may potentially be a viable treatment option for patients with intractable pain from trigeminal neuralgia or cluster headache.
