Na-ion batteries （NIBs） are considered one of the most attractive alternatives for Li-ion batteries （LIBs） because of the natural abundance of Na and the similarities between the NIB technology and the well-established LIB technology. However, the discovery of high-performance electrode materials remains a key factor in the success of NIBs. Herein, we propose a new type of cathode material for NIBs based on a nanocomposite of an alkali metal fluoride （NaF） and a transition metal fluoride （FeF2）. Although neither of these components is electrochemically active with Na, the nanoscale mixture of the two can deliver a reversible capacity of -125 mAh/g in the voltage range of 1.2--4.8 V vs. Na/Na＋ via an Fe2＋/Fe3＋ redox couple. X-ray absorption spectroscopy reveals that the reversible Na storage is aided by the F-ions due to the decomposition of NaF, which are absorbed on the surface of FeF2, promoting the redox reaction of Fe and triggering the gradual transformation of the mother structure （FeF2） into a new （FeFB-like） host structure for the Na ions. This unique Na-ion storage phenomenon, which is reported for the first time, will introduce an avenue for designing novel cathode materials for NIBs.

The effect of Ce content(0–1.6 wt.%)on the modification of Mg_(2)Si phase in the as-cast Mg-5Al-2Si alloy was *** original Chinese script type Mg_(2)Si phase was refined distinctly and transformed to dispersive block shape gradually by adding Ce *** length of Chinese script type Mg_(2)Si phase was reduced from 110 to 50μm with increasing Ce content to 1.6 wt.%.The results calculated by Pandat software indicated that the added Ce element first combined with Si to form CeSi_(2)phase,which could serve as the heterogeneous nucleation of Mg_(2)Si phase due to the small lattice mismatch of 7.97%.The modification of Mg_(2)Si phase was mainly attributed to the facts that Ce changed the growth steps of Mg_(2)Si phase and CeSi_(2)promoted the nucleation of Mg_(2)Si *** increasing Ce content from 0 wt.%to 1.6 wt.%,the YS,UTS and EL at 150℃were improved from 67.7 MPa,91.2 MPa and 1.6%to 84.2 MPa,128 MPa and 7.5%,respectively.

MICROMECHANICS OF ROUGH SURFACE ADHESION:A HOMOGENIZED PROJECTION METHOD

A quasistatic homogenized projection is made to characterize the effective cohesive zone behavior for rough-surface adhesion. In the context of the homogenized projection, the traction versus separation relation for the homogenized cohesive zone （HCZ） of a rough interface can be highly oscillatory due to instabilities during microscopic adhesion and decohesion processes. The instabilities are found to occur not only individually but also collectively among the adhesive micro-asperity contacts, leading to extensive energy dissipation. Based on the behaviors of the HCZ relations, a framework for describing instability-induced energy dissipation in rough-surface adhesion is proposed to elucidate the effect of roughness on apparent interface adhesion. Two non- dimensional parameters, α related to roughness morphology and n related to flaw distribution, are identified to be most crucial for controlling the energy dissipation. For an interface with a shallow roughness and a strong intrinsic adhesive strength, the interface adhesion can be stronger if we make it rougher （reducing α） or lower its flaw density （increasing n）. The HCZ projection method can be potentially extended and employed to bridge the apparent adhesion from intrinsic adhesion properties for engineering surfaces with multi-scale shallow roughness.

Background:Pancreatic cysts are ***,most studies are based on data collected from individual *** present study aimed to evaluate the changes of management patterns for pancreatic cystic lesions(PCLs)by analyzing large epidemiologic ***:Between January 2007 and December 2018,information regarding pancreatic cystic lesions was acquired from the nationwide Health Insurance Review and Assessment Service database in ***:The final number of patients with pancreatic cysts was 165277 among the total claims for reimbursement of 855983 associated with PCLs over 12 *** total number of claims were increased from 19453 in 2007 to 155842 in 2018 and the prevalence increased from 0.04%to 0.23%.For 12 years,2874(1.7%)had pancreatic cancer and 8212(5.0%)underwent surgery,and 36 had surgery for twice(total 8248 pancreatectomy).After ruling out claims from the first 3 years of washout period,the incidence increased from 9891 to 24651 and the crude incidence rate of PCLs expanded from 19.96 per 100000 to 47.77 per *** to specific neoplasm codes(D136 or D377),the use of pancreatic cyst code(K862)has been remarkably increased and the most common since *** annual number of pancreatectomies increased from 518 to 861 between 2007 and 2012,and decreased to 596 until *** percentage of pancreatic cancer in patients who received pancreatectomy increased from 5.6%in 2007 to 11.7%in ***:The incidence of PCLs is rapidly *** PCLs,indeterminate cyst is increasing outstandingly.A trend of decreasing in the number of resections and increasing cancer rates among resected cysts may be attributed to the updated international guidelines.

Purpose:Patients’gender,which can be one of the most important determinants of traumatic brain injury(TBI)outcomes,is also likely to interact with many other outcome variables of *** multicenter descriptive study investigated gender differences in epidemiological,clinical,treatment,mortality,and variable characteristics in adult TBI ***:The selection criteria were defined as patients who had been diagnosed with TBI and were admitted to the hospital between January 1,2016 and December 31,2018.A total of 4468 adult TBI patients were enrolled at eight University *** on the list of enrolled patients,the medical records of the patients were reviewed and they were registered online at each *** registered patients were classified into three groups according to the Glasgow coma scale(GCS)score:mild(13-15),moderate(9-12),and severe(3-8),and the differences between men and women in each group were *** risk factors of moderated and severe TBI compared to mild TBI were also ***:The study included 3075 men and 1393 women and the proportion of total males was 68.8%.Among all the TBI patients,there were significant differences between men and women in age,past history,and GCS *** the mild and severe TBI groups showed significant differences in age,past history,and clinical symptoms,the moderate TBI group showed significant differences in age,past history,cause of justice,and ***:To the best of our knowledge,this multicenter study is the first to focus on gender differences of adult patients with TBI in *** study shows significant differences between men and women in many aspects of adult ***,gender differences should be strongly considered in TBI studies.

AIM:To compare the diagnostic accuracy of computed tomography(CT)and positron emission tomography (PET)for the preoperative detection of paraaortic lymph node(PAN)metastasis in patients with intraabdominal malignancies. METHODS:Sixty-six patients with intra-abdominal malignancies who underwent both CT and PET before lymphadenectomy were included in this study. Histopathologically,13 patients had metastatic PAN, while 53 had non-metastatic *** CT criteria for metastasis were:short diameter of>8 mm,lobular or irregular shape,and/or combined ancillary findings, including necrosis,conglomeration,vessel encasement, and *** PET criterion was positive fluorodeoxyglucose(FDG)*** sensitivity, specificity,positive predictive value(PPV),negative predictive value(NPV),and accuracy of both modalities were compared with the pathologic findings,and the false positive and false negative cases with both CT and PET were ***:The sensitivity,specificity,PPV,NPV,and accuracy of CT were 61.5%,84.9%,50%,90%and 80.3%,*** PET,the percentages were 46.2%,100%,100%,88.3%,and 89.4%.Additionally, there were 8 false positive CT cases(8/53,15.1%) and zero false positive PET *** the 13 metastatic PANs,there were 5 false negative CT scans(38.5%) and 7(53.9%)false negative PET scans. CONCLUSION:For detecting PAN metastasis,CT is more sensitive than PET,while PET is more specific.

Numerical Modeling of a Spar Platform Tethered by a Mooring Cable

Virtual simulation is an economical and efficient method in mechanical system design. Numerical modeling of a spar platform, tethered by a mooring cable with a spherical joint is developed for the dynamic simulation of the floating structure in ocean. The geometry modeling of the spar is created using finite element methods. The submerged part of the spar bears the buoyancy, hydrodynamic drag force, and effect of the added mass and Froude-Krylov force. Strip theory is used to sum up the forces acting on the elements. The geometry modeling of the cable is established based on the lumped-mass-and-spring modeling through which the cable is divided into 10 elements. A new element-fixed local frame is used, which is created by the element orientation vector and relative velocity of the fluid, to express the loads acting on the cable. The bottom of the cable is fixed on the seabed by spring forces, while the top of the cable is connected to the bottom of the spar platform by a modified spherical joint. This system suffers the propagating wave and current in the X-direction and the linear wave theory is applied for setting of the propagating wave. Based on the numerical modeling, the displacement-load relationships are analyzed, and the simulation results of the numerical modeling are compared with those by the commercial simulation code, Proteus DS. The comparison indicates that the numerical modeling of the spar platform tethered by a mooring cable is well developed, which provides an instruction for the optimization of a floating structure tethered by a mooring cable system.

Numerical Modeling of a Spherical Buoy Moored by a Cable in Three Dimensions

Floating facilities have been studied based on the static analysis of mooring cables over the past decades. To analyze the floating system of a spherical buoy moored by a cable with a higher accuracy than before, the dynamics of the cables are considered in the construction of the numerical modeling. The cable modeling is established based on a new element frame through which the hydrodynamic loads are expressed efficiently. The accuracy of the cable modeling is verified with an experiment that is conducted by a catenary chain moving in a water tank. In addition, the modeling of a spherical buoy is established with respect to a spherical coordinate in three dimensions, which can suffers the gravity, the variable buoyancy and Froude-Krylov loads. Finally, the numerical modeling for the system of a spherical buoy moored by a cable is established, and a virtual simulation is proceeded with the X- and Y-directional linear waves and the X-directional current. The comparison with the commercial simulation code Proteus DS indicates that the system is accurately analyzed by the numerical modeling. The tensions within the cable, the motions of the system, and the relationship between the motions and waves are illustrated according to the defined sea state. The dynamics of the cables should be considered in analyzing the floating system of a spherical buoy moored by a cable.
