Effect of various physical properties on the reflection coefficients of inhomogeneous waves at the stress-free surface of partially saturated soils induced by obliquely incident fast P-wave

Ghasemzadeh and Abounouri[1]developed a mathematical model of partially saturated soils that is solved using the potential method,which decomposes elastodynamics equations into two standard wave equations,a scalar wave equation for scalar potential and a vector wave equation for vector *** such a medium,four waves exist three longitudinal and one *** fluid phase tortuous path is taken into account in this *** inertial coupling between solid and fluid particles is ***,both open-pore and sealed-pore boundaries are explored to investigate the reflection phenomenon at the surface of partially saturated *** both boundaries,the reflection coefficients of inhomogeneous waves at a partially saturated soil surface are found as a non-singular set of linear *** waves(both reflected and incident)in partially saturated soils are pronounced as inhomogeneous due to viscosity in pore fluids(i.e.,distinct directions of attenuation and propagation).The energy shares of reflected waves are determined using an energy matrix.A numerical example is used to determine the reflection coefficients and the distribution of incident energy among the various reflected *** effect of different physical features on reflection coefficients and incident energy partitioning is illustrated *** conservation of incident energy at the surface of partially saturated soils is mathematically confirmed at all angles of incidence.

Enhanced hydrogen production activity over BiOX–TiO2 under solar irradiation:Improved charge transfer through bismuth oxide clusters

A series of titania nanoparticles and nanotubes deposited with various quantities of bismuth（Bi） were prepared via sol-gel and hydrothermal methods, respectively. They were then characterized using X-ray diffraction spectroscopy（XRD）, X-ray photo electron spectroscopy（XPS）, UV–Vis diffused reflectance spectra（DRS）, photoluminescence spectra（PLS）, transmission electron microscopy（TEM）, energy dispersive analysis of X-rays（EDAX）, and BET surface analysis. These catalysts were employed for the photocatalytic production of hydrogen from a mixture of pure water and glycerol under solar light irradiation. The presence of the Bispecies was found to play a vital role in enhancing activity while minimizing electron hole recombination（relative to bare TiO）. The nanotubes exhibited better activity than the nanoparticles of Bi-deposited TiO, showing the significance of the morphology; however, photocatalytic activity is predominantly dependent on the deposition of bismuth. The activity increased by approximately an order of magnitude at the optimum concentration of Bi deposited over TiO（2 wt%）. The presence of the Bispecies played a vital role in minimizing electron hole recombination, resulting in higher activity compared to bare TiO.

A simple and efficient three component procedure has been developed for the synthesis of highly substituted spiro[indolo-3,100-indeno[1,2-b]quinolin]-2,4,11＇-triones by one pot three component condensation of enaminones, isatin and indane-1,3-dione in ethanol：water（1：1） in presence of ceric ammonium nitrate（CAN） as catalyst. This method provides several advantages such as lesser reaction time, high yield of products and operational simplicity. The antimicrobial activity of some of the compounds has been investigated against six microbial strains, some of the tested compounds showed good antimicrobial activity.

Wound healing activity of aqueous extract of Crotalaria verrucosa in Wistar albino rats

Objective:To evaluate the wound healing effect of aqueous extract of Crotalaria verrucosa(C. verrucosa) in ***:Three wound models including incision,excision and dead space wounds were used in this *** parameters studied were breaking strength in incision models,granulation tissue dry weight,breaking strength and hydroxyproline content in dead space wounds,percentage of wound contraction and period of epithelialization in excision wound ***:Two doses of the extract with and without dexamethasone showed significant increases in mean hydroxyproline,total protein content and dry weight of granulation tissue but it was higher with dose 800 mg/kg comparing with the *** dexamethasone treated group showed a significant(P<0.001) reduction in the wound breaking strength when compared to control group in incision type of wound *** of *** with dexamethasone significantly(P<0.001) increased the breaking strength compared to the dexamethasone treated only *** excision wound model,the percentage of the wound contraction was significantly(P<0.01) increased by two doses of test extract on all the days except the lower dose which exhibited only on 12th,16th days of drug treatment and it also reversed the dexamethasone suppressed wound *** significantly(P<0.001) reduced the time required for epithelialization and reversed the epithelialization delaying effect of dexamethasone (P<0.001).Conclusions:*** was found to possess significant wound healing property. This was evident by decrease in the period of epithelialization,increase in the rate of wound contraction,skin breaking strength,and granulation tissue dry weight *** C. verrucosa could be a good wound healing agent.

Insulin is an important hormone that affects various metabolic processes,including kidney *** in insulin's action leads to insulin resistance in the target *** defects in post-receptor insulin signaling,impairment at the receptor level could significantly affect insulin sensitivity of the target *** kidney is a known target of insulin;however,whether the kidney develops "insulin resistance" is *** of the insulin receptor(IR) expression and its function is very well studied in major metabolic tissues like liver,skeletal muscles,and adipose *** physiological relevance of IRs in the kidney has recently begun to be *** credit goes to studies that showed a wide distribution of IR throughout the nephron segments and their reduced expression in the insulin resistance ***,altered renal and systemic metabolism observed in mice with targeted deletion of the IR from various epithelial cells of the kidney has strengthened this *** this review,we recapitulate the crucial findings from literature that have expanded our knowledge regarding the significance of the renal IR in normal-and insulin-resistance states.

Adjuvant role of a T-type calcium channel blocker, TTA-A2, in lung cancer treatment with paclitaxel

Aim:Chemoresistance is a prevalent issue in cancer ***(PTX)is a microtubule-binding anticancer drug used in various cancer ***,cancer cells often show chemoresistance against PTX with the help of P-glycoprotein(Pgp)-a drug efflux *** has also been observed that overexpressed T-type calcium channels(TTCCs)maintain calcium homeostasis in cancer cells,and calcium has a role in ***,the aim of this study was to test the adjuvant role of TTA-A2,a TTCC blocker,in enhancing the anticancer effect of PTX on the A549 lung adenocarcinoma cell ***:Morphology assay,calcium imaging assay,clonogenic assay,apoptosis assay,and real-time polymerase chain reaction(real-time PCR)were performed to find the adjuvant role of *** were treated with PTX at 10 nM concentration and TTA-A2 at 50 and 100 nM *** and TTA-A2 were used in the combination treatment at 10 and 100 nM concentrations,***:Immunocytochemistry confirmed the expression of TTCC in A549 *** assay showed altered morphology of A549 *** adjuvant role of TTA-A2 was observed in the calcium imaging assay in spheroids,in the clonogenic assay in monolayers,and in the apoptosis assay in both *** real-time PCR,it was observed that,even though cells express the mRNA of Pgp,it is non-significant upon treatment with PTX and ***:TTA-A2 can be used as an adjuvant to reduce chemoresistance in cancer cells as well as to enhance the anticancer effect of the standard anticancer drug *** a potent TTCC inhibitor,TTA-A2 may also enhance the anticancer effects of other anticancer drugs.

The traditional method of doing business has been disrupted by socialmedia. In order to develop the enterprise, it is essential to forecast the level ofinteraction that a new post would receive from social media users. It is possiblefor the user’s interest in any one social media post to be impacted by external factors or to dwindle as a result of changes in his behaviour. The popularity detectionstrategies that are user-based or population-based are unable to keep up with theseshifts, which leads to inaccurate forecasts. This work makes a prediction abouthow popular the post will be and addresses any anomalies caused by factors outside of the study. A novel improved PARAFAC (A-PARAFAC) method that istensor factorization-based has been presented in order to cope with the user criteria that will be used in the future to rate any project. We consolidated the information on the historically popular content, and we accelerated the computation bychoosing the top contents that were most like each other. The tensor is factorisedwith the application of the Adam optimization. It has been modified such that thebias is now included in the gradient function of A-PARAFAC, and the value ofthe bias is updated after each iteration. The prediction accuracy is improved by32.25% with this strategy compared to other state of the art methods.

Screening of Antioxidant Potential of Selected Barks of Indian Medicinal Plants by Multiple in vitro Assays

Objective To evaluate the antioxidant potential in herbal extract barks of five therapeutically important medicinal plants native to India, i.e. Crataeva nurvala Buch.-Ham., Buchanania lanzan Spreng., Aegle marmelos Corr., Dalbergia sissoo Roxb. ex DC., and Cedrela toona Roxb. Methods Standardized aqueous alcoholic extracts from the selected barks having different target radicals, such as superoxide radical, nitric oxide, ABTS radical, and peroxidative decomposition of phospholipids, were prepared and screened by multiple in vitro assays. These extracts were also tested for total phenolic and tannin content and correlated with antioxidant capacity. Results Total phenolic and tannin contents were found to be the highest in C. nurvala （195 GAE mg/g and 218.3 mg/g CE）. SOD mimetic activity was found to be the highest in Crataeva nurvula, although all barks showed activity more than IO3 units/mg extract. Lipid peroxidation inhibitory potential was found to be the highest in Crataeva nurvala （83.4% inhibition of MDA formation/10 μg extract）, and also showed a comparatively high NO quenching capacity （45.5% per 10 μg extract）. The highest NO quenching potential was found in Aegle marmelos （47.3% per 10 μg extract）. Cedrela toona showed the lowest LPO inhibitory potential and NO quenching capacity （50.5% and 30.5%, respectively）. Buchanania lanzan, a medicinal plant extensively used for inflammatory disorders and Dalbergia sissoo also showed 72.5% and 69.1% LPO inhibitory potential/10 μg extract. Trolox equivalent antioxidant capacity ranged from 0.24 to 0.39 mmol/L TEAC/mg extract, indicating that all the barks tested had ABTS^＋ radical quenching capacity. Conclusion Bark of Crataeva nurvula has the highest antioxidant capacity and a positive correlation between antioxidant activity and their plendic content was found.

The height of total entropy(S)for a magnetic refrigerant material is essentially concerned with the magnetic and structural ***,the participation of such transitions in layered materials is not well ***,the purpose of this work is to investigate the interplay between double layer lattice with their single perovskite counterpart,to achieve optimal magnetocaloric performance.A series of self-doped Pr_(1.4+x)Sr_(1.6-x)Mn_(2)O_(7)(0.0≤x≤0.5)Ruddlesden-Popper(R-P)perovskite have been prepared through the solid-state sintering *** increasing the Pr-stoichiometry,the lattice faults have increased and the double layer lattice dramatically disintegrates into single perovskite *** to the reduction of bilayer R-P phase into single perovskite the spin crossover occurs from weak bilayer(T=304 K)interactions towards the strong three-dimensional(T=308 K)interactions *** series consistently develops thermomagnetic irreversibility in zero-field cooled(ZFC)-field cooled(FC)magnetization,which is indicative of a spin-glass *** glassy nature has been ascribed collectively to the lattice strain produced because of dislocations and to an antiferromagnetic phase segregated at the *** maximum value of temperature average entropy change(TEC)and adiabatic temperature(ΔT)has enhanced nearly by 4 folds from 0.53 J kg^(-1)K^(-1),0.59 K(for x=0.0)up to 1.85 J kg^(-1)K^(-1),10 K(for x=0.5)at 2.5 T,***,the room temperature relative cooling power has improved from 26.94 J/kg up to 77.84 J/kg with an applied field of 2.5 *** findings in this work suggest that the controlled reduction of double layer lattice into single perovskite and/or existence of both phases simultaneously in bilayer R-P manganites may be very effective in obtaining the desirable characteristics of magnetocaloric effects.

After a prolonged debate and discussion,the World Health Organization(WHO)relisted'snakebite'under Category'A'of'Neglected Tropical Diseases'(NTDs)in June 2017 hoping to diminish its burden on ***,in March 2009,WHO added snakebite to its official list of NTDs but later downgraded to'Other Neglected Conditions',a list reduced in importance[1,2].Obviously,the recent inclusion of snakebite in NTDs was due to the estimation of huge toll of deaths due to snake envenomation in tropical countries as supported by the multiple *** inclusion will expedite the process of developing better management protocols and infusing funds for such affected countries.
