Fluidized bed combustion behavior of coal and biomass is of practical interest due to its significant involvement in heating systems and power plant operations. This combustion behavior has been studied by many experimental techniques along with different kinetic models. In this study, SO2 emissions have been studied out in a pilot scale test facility of Circulating Fluidized Bed combustor (70 KW) under fast fluidized bed conditions burning coal with Pakistani wheat straw. One dimensional mathematical model is being developed to predict the SO2 emissions under different operating conditions like bed temperature, Ca/S molar ratio, solids circulation rate, excess air ratio and secondary to primary air ratio. These parameters are varied to validate the model and encouraging correlation is found between the experimental values and model predictions.

many researches from both theoretical and experimental perspectives have been performed to search for a new Higgs Boson that is lighter than the 125 GeV Higgs boson,which was discovered at the LHC in *** this study,we explore the possibility of constraining a lighter neutral custodial fiveplet scalar H_(5)^(0) in the Georgimachacek(Gm) model using the latest results of the search for a lighter Higgs boson decaying into two photons from LHC *** custodial-singlet mass eigenstate h or H is considered to be the LHC observed 125 GeV Higgs boson.A new set of constrained parameters that is favoured by low-mass H_(5)^(0) is proposed to generate events *** production of H_(5)^(0) from a scan based on the constrained parameters is compared to the latest results of the search for a lighter Higgs boson decaying into two photons by the CmS Collaboration after applying theoretical constraints from the Gm model and constraints from all existing relevant experimental measurements,including the recent results of the Higgs boson searches by the *** analyses of the surviving Gm parameter space are *** tendencies and correlations of the Gm input parameters from phenomenological studies are *** addition,the discovery potential of the other interesting decay channels of this low-mass neutral custodial fiveplet scalar are discussed.

Trilayered Sm2Co7/Fe/Sm2Co7 spring exchange magnets are fabricated by dc magnetron sputtering on mgO substrates. Very thin layers （0.3-0.7 nm） of Cr and Ti are added at the interfaces of the two magnetic phases. The thickness of StucCo7 is kept at 20nm and Fe at 6nm while the thickness of Cr and Ti are varied as 0.3, 0.5, and 0.7nm. The base pressure of sputtering chamber is kept below 10^-7 Torr and Ar pressure at 3-8m Torr. The samples are characterized by x-ray diffraction （XRD） and SQUID magnetometer. We report improvement in exchange coupling of nonacomposite magnets by addition of thin layers of Cr at interfaces.

印度河扇更新世发育的沉积物波结构复杂、形态多样,其形成过程的认识程度低。本次研究通过高分辨率地震数据和地震解释技术,研究了印度河扇沉积物波的波长、形态、波峰变化等形态特征;阐述了沉积物波与沉积物变形特征的差异、识别了两者的区分标志;总结了水道堤岸斜坡和区域斜坡上沉积物波的分布规律;在此基础上,讨论了沉积物波的形成机理和控制因素,分析了沉积物波的形成过程,并建立了印度河扇沉积物波的形成模式。研究表明:(1)研究区沉积物波波长平均为486.84 m,最大1473 m;波高在10~60 m之间,平均30 m。(2)沉积物波的形态有对称型和非对称型,其迁移方式有上坡迁移型、加积型和下坡迁移型;沉积物波主要发育在水道堤岸的斜坡上,在区域斜坡上也发育少量的沉积物波,这2种沉积物波波脊的走向差异很大,水道堤岸斜坡上的沉积物波主要分布于水道凹岸堤岸的外侧,距离水道越远其规模(波长、波高)越小,波脊走向近于NE-SW方向,与水道的走向平行或斜交;区域斜坡上的沉积物波波脊的走向多为NW-SE向,平行于区域斜坡的走向,离源区越远规模越大。(3)水道堤岸斜坡上的沉积物波是由水道型浊流在离心力的作用下,溢出水道的凹岸,在堤岸外侧的斜坡上沉积形成的,堤岸斜坡的角度对沉积物波的发育规模影响不大,浊流的强度和输沙量对其规模影响大;区域斜坡上发育的沉积物波是由顺坡而下的非水道化的浊流沉积形成;滑塌变形造成的起伏地貌以及早期沉积物波的存在,也都影响了后期沉积物波的发育。

Seed priming improves early seedling vigor, growth and productivity of spring maize

Potential of seed priming treatments in improving the performance of early planted maize was evaluated against timely planting. Seeds of maize hybrid FH-810 were soaked in water (hydropriming), CaCl2 (2.2%, osmopriming), moringa leaf extracts (mLE 3.3%, osmopriming) and salicylic acid (SA, 50 mg L–1, hormonal priming) each for 18 h. Untreated and hydroprimed seeds were taken as control. Seeds primed with SA took less time in emergence and had high vigor in early planted maize. Amongst treatments, hormonal priming, reduced the electrical conductivity, increased the leaf relative and chlorophyl contents fol owed by osmopriming with CaCl2 at seedling stage. Likewise, plant height, grain rows and 1 000-grain weight, grain and biological yield and harvest index were also improved by seed priming;however hormonal priming and osmopriming with mLE were more effective in this regard. Improved yield performance by hormonal priming or osmopriming with mLE in early planting primarily owed to increased leaf area index, crop growth and net assimilation rates, and maintenance of green leaf area at maturity. In conclusion, osmopriming with mLE and hormonal priming with SA were the most economical treatments in improving productivity of early planted spring maize through stimulation of early seedling growth at low temperature.

Corrosion resistance behavior of Co-containing maraging stainless steels was investigated. Neutral salt spray and polarization test showed that maraging stainless steel with high Co content showed poor corrosion behavior. microstructure observation proved that segregation of Cr in the matrix deteriorated its corrosion resistance. The surface morphology of the aged maraging stainless steel with high Co content indicated that during passivation process, the newly formed passive film with sinusoidal distribution readily destroyed by the corrosive medium, hence, causing poor corrosion resistance. moreover, through first-principles calculation it was proved that Co increased Fe–Fe ferromagnetic interaction which facilitated the formation Cr-rich clusters.

Intermediate stage of the three and four-pronged events is investigated in the reaction ^208Pb＋^197Au at beam energy 11.67 meV/u. multiprong events are analysed numerically using an empirical mass-dependent velocityrauge relation. Using the measured three-dimensional coordinates of correlated tracks, it is possible to determine the quantities such as mass transfer and total kinetic energy loss. These quantities are then used to study the intermediate stage of the reaction. It has been observed that mass transfer and total kinetic energy loss at the first step of the reaction decides the multiplicity of an event at the second stage of the sequential fission process.
