Use of biopolymers in wastewater treatment:A brief review of current trends and prospects

Indeed,polymeric materials have thrived in worldwide sectors over the last five decades due to their versatility and durability,to the point that we can no longer envisage a product that does not contain ***,many synthetic polymers that have been produced are mostly sourced from petroleum and coal as raw materials,making them environmentally incompatible because they cannot be integrated with what is a natural recycling *** of the most important aspects of the transition to a circular bioeconomy(CBE)is the provision of more sustainable strategies for resource and waste *** the environmental consequences associated with petroleum-based polymers(PBPs),natural biopolymers,originating from biomass,can be conceived as a promising solution to gradually replace the PBPs,and address,and resolve the potential challenges and prevailing research gaps in the *** biopolymers have significant advantages over PBPs in terms of low-cost/zero-cost precursors,environmental friendliness,and *** present review dissects the sources,synthesis pathways,structures,characterization,and employment of biopolymers and their composites in water and wastew-ater treatment applications via different ***,the CBE model framework proposes potential approaches to applying CBE principles in the wastewater management sector,with a heavy emphasis on not only technology but also organizational and societal *** sum up,the reliance on biopolymers can be considered a crucial tool for assessing the global progress toward CBE,as well as future environmental management and planning.

Stability of HIV-1 infection with saturated virus-target and infected-target incidences and CTL immune response

This paper studies the dynamical behavior of an HIV-1 infection model with satu- rated virus-target and infected-target incidences with Cytotoxic T Lymphocyte （CTL） immune response. The model is incorporated by two types of intracellular distributed time delays. The model generalizes all the existing HIV-1 infection models with cell-to- cell transmission presented in the literature by considering saturated incidence rate and the effect of CTL immune response. The existence and global stability of all steady states of the model are determined by two parameters, the basic reproduction number （R0） and the CTL immune response activation number （R1）. By using suitable Lyapunov functionals, we show that if R0≤1, then the infection-free steady state So is globally asymptotically stable; if R1≤1〈R0, then the CTL-inactivated infection steady state S1 is globally asymptotically stable; if R1〉1, then the CTL-activated infection steady state S2 is globally asymptotically stable. Using mATLAB we conduct some numerical simulations to confirm our results. The effect of the saturated incidence of the HIV-1 dynamics is shown.

Glassy behaviour of random field Ising spins on Bethe lattice in external magnetic field

The thermodynamics and the phase diagram of random field Ising model （RFIm） on Bethe lattice are studied by using a replica trick. This lattice is placed in an external magnetic field （B）. A Gaussian distribution of random field （hi） with zero mean and variance （hi2 = H2RF is considered. The free-energy （F）, the magnetization （m） and the order parameter （q） are investigated for several values of coordination number （z）. The phase diagram shows several interesting behaviours and presents tricritical point at critical temperature Tc = J/k and when HRF = 0 for finite z. The free-energy （F） values increase as T increases for different intensities of random field （HRE） and finite z. The internal energy （U） has a similar behaviour to that obtained from the monte Carlo simulations. The ground state of magnetization decreases as the intensity of random field HRF increases, The ferromagnetic （Fm） paramagnetic （Pm） phase boundary is clearly observed only when z →∞. While Fm Pm-spin glass （SG） phase boundaries are present for finite z. The magnetic susceptibility （X） shows a sharp cusp at Tc in a small random field for finite z and rounded different peaks on increasing HRF.

Glassy phase and thermodynamics for random field Ising model on spherical lattice in magnetic field

Phase diagram and thermodynamic parameters of the random field Ising model （RFIm） on spherical lattice are studied by using mean field theory. This lattice is placed in an external magnetic field （B）. The random field （hi） is assumed to be Gaussian distributed with zero mean and a variance （hi2） = HRF2. The free energy （F）, the magnetization （m） and the order parameter （q） are calculated. The ferromagnetic （Fm） spin-glass （SG） phase transition is clearly observed. The critical temperature （Tc） is computed under a critical intensity of random field HRF = V/2/πJ. The phase transition from Fm to paramagnetic （Pm） occurs at TC = J/k in the absence of magnetic field. The critical temperature decreases as HRF increases in the phase boundary of Fm-to-SG. The magnetic susceptibility （X） shows a sharp cusp at TC and the specific heat （C） has a singularity in small random field. The internal energy （U） has a similar behaviour to that obtained from the monte Carlo simulation.

Water insufficiency is the hampering feature of crop sustainability,especially in arid and semi-arid ***,the effectual usage of all water resources especially underground brackish water represents the core priority in Saudi *** present study aimed to recognize the influence of different types of water irrigation(tap water as a control,salinized well water,and magnetized salinized well water)with or without soil amendments(soil without any amendment as a control,peat-moss,ferrous sulfate,and peat-moss plus ferrous sulfate)on petunia plant growth and flowering as well as ion *** Petunia plants with saline well water adversely affected growth and flowering as compared to tap water and magnetized saline well ***,plants irrigated with magnetized water showed a significant enhancement in all the studied vegetative and flowering growth parameters as compared to those irrigated with salinized well ***,mineral contents and survival of Petunia plants irrigated with magnetized well water were higher than those irrigated with tap *** with magnetized well water significantly reduced levels of Na+and Cl−ions in leaves of Petunia plants indicating the role of magnetization in alleviating harmful effects of *** conclusion,we recommend the utilization of magnetized saline well water for irrigating Petunia plants either alone or in combination with soil amendments(peat moss plus ferrous sulfate).

mutational analysis of hepatitis E virus ORF1 'Y-domain' : Effects on RNA replication and virion infectivity

AImTo investigate the role of non-structural open reading frame 1 “Y-domain” sequences in the hepatitis E virus (HEV) life *** of human HEV Y-domain (amino acid sequences 216-442) and closely-related viruses were analyzed in silico. Site-directed mutagenesis of the Y-domain (HEV SAR55) was carried out and studied in the replicon-baculovirus-hepatoma cell model. In vitro transcribed mRNA (pSK-GFP) constructs were transfected into S10-3 cells and viral RNA replicating GFP-positive cells were scored by flow cytometry. mutant virions’ infectivity was assayed on naïve HepG2/C3A *** silico analysis identified a potential palmitoylation-site (C336C337) and an α-helix segment (L410Y411S412W413L414F415E416) in the HEV Y-domain. molecular characterization of C336A, C337A and W413A mutants of the three universally conserved residues showed non-viability. Further, of the 10 consecutive saturation mutants covering the entire Y-domain nucleotide sequences (nts 650-1339), three constructs (nts 788-994) severely affected virus replication. This revealed the indispensability of the internal sequences but not of the up- or downstream sequences at the transcriptional level. Interestingly, the three mutated residues corresponded to the downstream codons that tolerated saturation mutation, indicating their post-translational functional/structural essentiality. In addition, RNA secondary structure prediction revealed formation of stable hairpins (nts 788-994) where saturation mutation drastically inhibited virion *** is the first demonstration of the critical role of Y-domain sequences in HEV life cycle, which may involve gene regulation and/or membrane binding in intracellular replication complexes.

Spinel ferrites exhibit exceptional magnetic properties,making them a distinctive class of magnetic *** sol-gel technique was utilized for the synthesis of spinel ferrites with the chemical formula Co_(0.6)Sr_(0.4)Ce_(x)Fe_(2-x)O_(4). Following that,a comprehensive X-ray diffraction analysis unveiled the crystalline cubic structure of the synthesized *** the utilization of the m-H loop approach,the ferromagnetic attributes of ferrites were assessed,and the assimilation of rare earth elements led to substantial enhancements in saturation magnetization,remanence,and *** ferrites with a high concentration of rare earth elements have improved direct current resistivity and activation *** logarithm of a material's resistance increased from 5.29 to 8.12 Ω·cm as cerium is *** a change in the amount of cerium,the activation energy goes up from 0.19 to *** changing the frequency from 5.5 to 9.5 GHz,the dielectric characteristics were *** the frequency goes up,the dielectric constant goes *** ferrites that have been made better in every way can be used in high-frequency applications.

A numerical treatment for self-adjoint singularly perturbed second-order two-point boundary value problems using trigonometric quintic B-splines is presented,which depend on different engineering *** method is found to have a truncation error of O(h 6)and converges to the exact solution at O(h 4).The numerical examples show that our method is very effective and the maximum absolute error is acceptable.
