The effect of pH on the acute toxicity of Cu to barley(Hordeum vulgare ) root elongation was investigated in solution *** results showed that the median effective concentrations(EC50s;i.e.,the concentration that reduced root elongation by 50%based on free Cu activity) were not significantly different in the low-pH range from 4.5 to 6.5,but in the high-pH range from 7.0 to 8.0,a significant effect of pH on EC50s was *** nonlinear relationship between EC50 and H activity in the present study indicated that the increased toxicity with increasing pH in solution may not be caused by decreasing H *** we take account of CuOH activities,a good linear relationship(r>0.97) between the ratio of CuOH activity to free Cu activity and acute Cu toxicity to barley root elongation was achieved,which indicated that the observed toxicity in the high pH range may be caused by CuOH plus free Cu in ***-regression analysis suggested CuOH had a greater binding affinity than Cu at the biotic ligand *** logistic dose-response curve showed that expressing the Cu dose as Cu+ 2.92·CuOH improved the data fit significantly compared to consideration of the free Cu activity ***,our results suggest CuOH was highly toxic to barley root *** enhanced toxicity of CuOH therefore needs to be considered when modeling the effect of pH on Cu toxicity to barley for exposures having pH greater than 6.5.

The genus Ovatoryctocara Tchernysheva,1962,and its key species Ovatoryctocara granulata Tchernysheva,1962,are revised. Ovatoryctocara granulata occurs near the base of the Ovatoryctocara Zone and ranges up into the lower portion of the Kounamkites Zone in the Siberian Platform. O. granulata also appears in southeastern Guizhou,South china,but O. granulata in northern Greenland may represent an indefinite species. Specimens of Ovatoryctocara from Newfoundland cannot be identified to species level. Specimens includ-ing two cranidia and three pygidia from the lower part of the Aoxi Formation at Yaxi Village,Shizhu Town,eastern Tongren,north-eastern Guizhou,were previously assigned to O. granulata,which is now reassigned as a new species O. yaxiensis sp. nov. It bears the following main features: glabella club-shaped,slightly expanded medially,with four pairs of lateral furrows,of which S1-S3.are trian-gular pits,S4 is shallow,connecting with axial furrow; shorter palpebral lobe situated a little anterior to the midway of facial suture across the fixigenae,longer posterolateral area (exsag.); semielliptical pygidium consisting of seven axial rings with a terminal piece and with eight pairs of marginal tips giving a sawtooth-like shape of the lateral margins in dorsal view. Although O. granulata is a widely distributed species,the FAD of O. granulata,for a global stage boundary,still has some disadvantages. First,its distribution is not as wide as that of Oryctocephalus indicus (Reed,1910). Second,specimens of O. granulata are common only in Siberia. Third,the strati-graphic range of the species has not been studied in detail in all continents. Fourth,O. granulata is relatively small and easily affected by post-burial distortion. Last but not least,there exists obviously a facies change between the Ovatoryctocara Zone (lower Amgan Stage; deeper water facies) and the underlying Anabaraspis splendens Zone (Toyonian Stage; shallow water facies) in Siberian Platform. 4D products are basic mode of digitized products that are made by combining model remote sensing with gis technology, and have already brought everybody’s high recognition. Coal mining makes great destroy to land of coal mining area, and ecological environment becomes worse, therefore land reclamation of mining area has already turned into investigated emphases. 4D meaning is briefly introduced, and its six characteristics are expounded in this paper. Production technique and application status of 4D are summarized, and existed problems are analyzed in developed aspect. Land reclamation of mining area is a complex system engineering, and application of 4D products can be impenetrated in whole process. Otherwise 4D has broad application scope in land management of mining area and mine information construction. Compound of remote sensing and DTM can be apply to solve mine survey, monitor of surface and marginal slope and so on.

According to the fractal theory, the fractal dimensions of the 7 drainage basins and the flood are preliminarily calculated on the basis of gis in this paper. The possible relation between the fractal dimensions of the 7 drainage basins and the flood is discussed. The following conclusions are obtained: fractal dimension is an useful parameter to depict the character of flood and it is of rich information indicating the frequency and period of flood; in the studied time period, if the numbers of flood in a drainage basin are relatively great, the fractal dimension of flood in this drainage basin is comparatively great, vice versa; when the fractal dimension of a drainage basin is relatively small, the fractal dimension of flood in this drainage basin is comparatively great, vice versa.

According to the hail damage database of china, both the damage affected area and seriously affected area show a descending trend, while the ratio of the latter to the former ascends on the contrary. The seasonal variation of hail damage is quite obvious, spring and summer are the main periods of time of hail shooting throughout the whole country, and the frequency of hail shooting during April～September accounts for 92.3. of whole year. The distribution zone of hail shooting and seriously hail damage-affected area have an evident difference, and the center of hail damage is located in the Huang-Huai-Hai Plain and hilly regions on the south of the Yangtze River. Based on the map of county-level seasonal hail damage and the map of agriculture comprehensive regional planning, this paper designs the seasonal regionalization of hail damage by the methods of “from top to bottom” and “from bottom to top”, and china is divided into 5 types of hail damage zones with 16 second regions and 28 thrid regions. The 5 types are: summer type (I); later-spring/early-summer and summer type (II); later-spring and early-summer and double peak type (III); spring type (IV); summer and double peak type (V).

Rapid solution mining is the key to cavern construction in salt formations. Rapid solution mining technology with self-resonating cavitating water jets is described in this paper. It can generate three main physical effects： helical flow dissolution, self-resonating cavitating jet erosion, and ultrasonic waves. A self-resonating cavitating nozzle was also designed with the principles based on theory of fluid transients and hydro-acoustics. Under ambient pressure, the experimental results show that the impulse amplitude of pressure reaches a peak at a standoff distance of 5-13.times the nozzle outlet diameter and the cutting ability of self-resonating cavitating jets is twice that of conventional jets under the same conditions. Compared with the conventional mining method, the field test indicates that rapid solution mining technology with self-resonating cavitating jets can speed the construction by more than 2 times at the pocket stage of cavern development.

Effects of road networks on ecosystem service value in the Longitudinal Range-Gorge Region

Based on the land use(LU)(in 1985 and 2000)and road networks(RN)data in the Longitudinal Range- Gorge Region(LRGR),ecosystem services value(ESV)loss under the disturbance of road networks was estimated by using landscape degradation index(LDI)to clarify the effects of human activities on ecosystem service function(ESF).Results show that the ESV decreased more than 65×10～8 Yuan(RMB) due to the transformation of ecosystems in the study area during the pest 16 *** ecosystems influenced by road networks of different grades account for 5.4% of the total land in the study *** ecosystems lost their ESV of 1900×10～8 Yuan(RMB)by the disturbance of *** effect of RN on the ESV decreased *** forecast shows that ESV will be decreased 1.2%/a on average in 2010 and 2020 due to RN *** effect of ecosystem structure change on ESV was complex and *** disturbance of RN,one of the human activities influencing ESF is considered,further study end new method should be developed to accurately estimate the loss of ESV and the ecosystem function.
