Gaoligong Mountain(hereafter,GLGM)is located at the intersection of Myanmar and China’s yunnan Province and Xizang Zizhiqu,and spans three globally significant biodiversity hotspots:the Himalayas,Indo-Burma,and the Mountains of Southwest *** surveys of mammals in this ecologically important region have a long history,there is no comprehensive systematic checklist and distribution account of the mammals of ***,we compiled a mammal species checklist of GLGM based on thorough field investigations and literature *** also examined specimen collections and applied camera trapping surveys to explore the region’s mammal diversity and distribution *** recorded 212 mammal species in nine orders,33 families,and 119 genera,which accounts for 30.5%of China’s mammal species,and a high proportion of nationally protected(50)and globally threatened(29)*** species richness showed a symmetrical unimodal curve along the elevation gradient,peaking at intermediate elevations(2000 to 2500 m above sea level(asl)),and increasing generally from south to north,slightly higher in the east slope than in the *** analysis and non-metric multidimensional scaling revealed three distinct elevational assemblages(3500 m asl)and significant south-to-north variation,but no substantial differences between the east and west *** GLGM present a unique conservation value due to the high proportions of rare and endangered mammal species,complex faunal composition,high endemism,and being the distribution boundary for many *** study is an important phased account of mammal diversity in GLGM and makes a prospect for future research.

Sn-based perovskites are promising thin-film photovoltaic materials for their ideal bandgap and the eco-friendliness of Sn,but the performance of Sn-based perovskite solar cells is hindered by the short carrier diffusion length and large defect density in nominally-synthesized Sn-based perovskite *** we demonstrate that a long carrier diffusion length is achievable in quasi-2D Sn-based perovskite films consisting of high-member low-dimensional Ruddlesden-Popper(RP)phases with a preferred crystal orientation *** key to the film synthesis is the use of a molecular additive formed by phenylethylammonium cations and optimally mixed halide-pseudohalide anions,which favorably tailors the quasi-2D Sn-based perovskite crystallization *** high-member RP film structure effectively enhances device short-circuit current density,giving rise to an increased power conversion efficiency(PCE)of 14.6%.The resulting device demonstrates a near-unity shelf stability upon1,000 h in nitrogen.A high reproductivity is also achieved with a count of 50 devices showing PCEs within a narrow range from minimum 13.0%to maximum 14.6%.

Obesity is a major risk factor for cancers including hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)that develops from a background of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease(NAFLD).Hypercholesterolemia is a common comorbidity of *** cholesterol biosynthesis mainly occurs in the liver,its role in HCC development of obese people remains *** high-fat high-carbohydrate diet-associated orthotopic and spontaneous NAFLD-HCC mouse models,we found that hepatic cholesterol accumulation in obesity selectively suppressed natural killer T(NkT)cell-mediated antitumor *** analysis of human liver revealed aberrant cholesterol metabolism and NkT cell dysfunction in NAFLD ***,cholesterol-lowering rosuvastatin restored NkT expansion and cytotoxicity to prevent obesogenic diet-promoted HCC ***,suppression of hepatic cholesterol biosynthesis by a mammalian target of rapamycin(mTOR)inhibitor vistusertib preceded tumor regression,which was abolished by NkT inactivation but not CD8^(+)T cell ***,sterol regulatory element-binding protein 2(SREBP2)-driven excessive cholesterol production from hepatocytes induced lipid peroxide accumulation and deficient cytotoxicity in NkT cells,which were supported by findings in people with obesity,NAFLD and *** study highlights mTORC1/SREBP2/cholesterol-mediated NkT dysfunction in the tumor-promoting NAFLD liver microenvironment,providing intervention strategies that invigorating NkT cells to control HCC in the obesity epidemic.

Using benthic macrofauna to assess environmental quality of four intertidal mudflats in Hong kong and Shenzhen Coast

Intertidal zone is a significant wetland between land and ocean. It plays an important rolein maintaining local ecological balance. Both Mai Po and Futian intertidal mudflats are located in Shenzhen Bay and are important 'refueling' point along the East Asian/Australian flyway of migratory birds. The environmental quality of Mai Po and Futian mudflats have aroused great concern due to rapid economic developments in Hong kong and Shenzhen in recent decades. Macroinfauna of Mai Po and Futian mudflats was investigated in December 2000 and the faunal data were used to assess their environmental quality. Two other mudflats, namely Ma Wan Typhoon Shelter (a more disturbed area) and Luk keng intertidal mudflat (a place with relatively less human disturbance), were also sampled for macroinfauna and used as reference mudflats. Shannon - Weaver species diversity index (Isd), biotic coefficient (Cb) and macrofaunal pollution index (Imp) of the macrofauna community on four intertidal mudflats were used to determine their environmental quality. The results showed that Luk keng intertidal mudflat was unpolluted, Mai Po and Futian mudflats were slightly polluted, and Ma Wan was moderately polluted. The pollution in Ma Wan Typhoon Shelter mainly came from various types of rubbish and fishing boats that disturbed the sediment, while pollution sources in Mai Po and Futian mudflats were discharges of industrial water, municipal sewage and from nearby rivers.

目的:探究闪动疗法对早期创伤经历者抑郁情绪的干预效果。方法:采用单被试实验设计对一名个案的早期创伤记忆进行闪动疗法干预,结合问卷、访谈、观察等多种方式评估干预效果。使用中文版儿童期创伤问卷和抑郁自评量表筛选个案,在干预前后及追踪期对个案的抑郁情绪进行评估,在干预过程中用主观痛苦感觉单位量表对个案创伤事件的主观痛苦感进行评估。结果:定量和定性评估结果表明,个案在干预后及追踪期的抑郁情绪水平显著低于干预前。结论:闪动疗法能有效改善早期创伤经历者的抑郁情绪。

Synthesis of self-assembled nanorod vanadium oxide bundles by sonochemical treatment

Self-assembled nanorod of vanadium oxide bundles were synthesized by treating bulk V2O5 with high intensity sonochemical technique. The synthesized materials were characterized by X-ray diffraction （XRD）, scanning electron microscope （SEM）, transmission electron microscope （TEM） and temperature-programmed reduction （TPR） in H2. Catalytic behaviour of the materials over anaerobic n-butane oxidation was studied through temperature-programmed reaction （TPRn）. Catalytic evaluation of the sonochemical treated V2O5 products was also studied on microreactor. XRD patterns of all the vanadium samples were perfectly indexed to V2O5. The morphologies of the nanorod vanadium oxides as shown in SEM and TEM depended on the duration of the ultrasound irradiation. Prolonging the ultrasound irradiation duration resulted in materials with uniform, well defined shapes and surface structures and smaller size of nanorod vanadium oxide bundles. H2-TPR profiles showed that larger amount of oxygen species were removed from the nanorod V2O5 compared to the bulk. Furthermore, the nanorod vanadium oxide bundles, which were produced after 90, 120 and 180 min of sonochemical treatment, showed an additional reduction peak at lower temperature （-850 k）, suggesting the presence of some highly active oxygen species. TPRn in n-butane/He over these materials showed that the nanorod V2O5 with highly active oxygen species showed markedly higher activity than the bulk material, which was further proven by catalytic oxidation of n-butane.

End Effect on the Twin-Wire Depth Probe

Heavy metal concentrations in edible bivalves and gastropods available in major markets of the Pearl River Delta

Molluscs are able to accumulate heavy metals and impose health hazard to consumers. The main objective of the present study is to investigate the heavy metal concentrations in edible bivalves and gastropods available in major markets of the Pearl River Delta. Fourteen species of edible molluscs were purchased from six markets in Hong kong and Guangdong Province. The fresh of these biota were tested for their cadmium (Cd), copper (Cu), zinc (Zn), lead (Pb), nickel (Ni), chromium (Cr), antimony (Sb) and tin (Sn) concentrations (based on wet weight). The results indicated that amongst the 14 edible molluscs, only Cd, Pb, Ni, Cr, Sb and Sn concentrations in three species (Ruditapes philippinarum, Perna viridis and Hemifusus tuba) were within the local regulatory limits. Over 60% of bivalve species exceeded maximum permitted levels of Cd (2 mug/g) and Cr (1 mug/g), while over 40% of gastropod species exceeded the maximum levels of Sb (1 mug/g) and Cr (1 mug/g). Most of the samples collected from Hong kong had significantly higher contents of Pb and Sb, but similar levels of Cd, Cu and Zn when compared with samples collected across the border ( p y). In general, the molluscs purchased in Guangdong markets had higher metal contents than those purchased from the Hong kong markets. When compared with the Provisional Tolerable Weekly Intake or Maximum Acceptable Daily Load recommended by FAO/WHO Expert Committee on Food Additives, Cd levels of five species (Anadara ferruginea, Pinna pectinata, Chlamys nobilis, Babylonia lutosa and Hemifusus terntanus) and Cr levels of seven species ( Anadara ferruginea, Paphia undulata, Pinna pectinata, Babylonia lutosa, Hemifusus terntanus, Cymbium melo and Cipangopaludina chinensis) were higher than both the human daily acceptable limits (for Cd and Cr respectively) and the local regulatory levels (for Cd and Cr respectively).

Role of C11-FDG dual-tracer PET-CT scan in metastatic screening of hepatocellular carcinoma-a cost-effectiveness analysis

Background:We aimed to identify predictive factors for positron emission tomography(PET)-detected hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)metastasis and a cost-effective approach to preoperative PET-computed tomography(CT)for detecting ***:Clinicopathological and survival data of HCC patients having PET-CT with 18F-fludeoxyglucose(FDG)and 11C-acetate(ACT)following contrast-enhanced CT/magnetic resonance imaging(MRI)for preoperative tumor staging were *** logistic regression was performed to identify predictive factors for PET-detected metastasis.A cost-benefit analysis model was built for the incurred costs and the impact of PET-CT findings on treatment strategy was ***:Totally 152 patients were ***-tracer PET-CT detected metastasis in 17 patients(11%).By multivariate analysis,alpha-fetoprotein(AFP)≥400 ng/mL[relative risk(RR):4.30,95%confidence interval(CI):1.41-13.15,P=0.011]and bilobar disease(RR:3.94,95%CI:1.24-12.52,P=0.014)were independent predictive factors for PET-detected ***-CT findings altered the treatment strategy for 12 patients(7.9%);three partial hepatectomies,eight episodes of transarterial chemoembolization(TACE)and one episode of ablation were avoided,with an estimated cost-saving of US$91,000,$150,000 and$10,600 *** the PET-CT been performed only for patients with AFP≥400 ng/mL or bilobar disease(n=74),metastasis would have been confirmed in 14 patients(18.9%),and the cost-saving per patient was estimated at US$1,***:Dual-tracer PET-CT is cost-effective and useful for preoperative HCC staging in patients with AFP≥400 ng/mL or bilobar *** routine use in preoperative workup for all HCC patients is not *** disease with AFPy procedures and is thus cost-effective for preoperative HCC workup.

Nanoscale plasma-activated aerosol generation for in situ surface pathogen disinfection

Plasma treatment constitutes an efficient method for chemical-free disinfection.A spray-based system for dispensing plasma-activated aerosols onto surfaces would facilitate disinfection of complex and/or hidden surfaces inaccessible to direct line-of-sight(for example,UV)*** complexity and size of current plasma generators(for example,plasma jet and cometary plasma systems)-which prohibit portable operation,together with the short plasma lifetimes,necessitate a miniaturized in situ technique in which a source can be simultaneously activated and administered on-demand onto ***,we demonstrate this possibility by combining two nanoscale technologies for plasma and aerosol generation into an integrated device that is sufficiently small and *** is generated on a carpet of zinc oxide nanorods comprising a nanoneedle ensemble,which when raised to a high electric potential,constitutes a massive point charge array with near-singular electric fields to effect atmospheric *** plasma is then used to activate water transported through an underlying capillary wick,that is subsequently aerosolized under MHz-order surface acoustic *** show that the system,besides being amenable to miniaturization and hence integration into a chipscale device,leads to a considerable improvement in plasma-activation over its macroscale cometary discharge predecessor,with up to 20%and 127%higher hydrogen peroxide and nitrite ion concentrations that are respectively generated in the plasma-activated ***,in turn,leads to a 67%reduction in the disinfection time to achieve 95%bacterial load reduction,therefore demonstrating the potential of the technology as an efficient portable platform for on-demand field-use surface disinfection.
