Surfactant proteins A(SP-A)and D(SP-D),both members of the collectin family,play a well established role in apoptotic cell recognition and *** in vitro data show that SP-A and SP-D interact with apoptotic neutrophils in a distinct ***-A and SP-D bind in a Ca^(2+)-dependent manner to viable and early apoptotic neutrophils whereas the much greater interaction with late apoptotic neutrophils is Ca^(2+)-*** surface molecules on the apoptotic target cells responsible for these interactions had not been identified and this study was done to find candidate target ***(mPO),a specific intracellular defense molecule of neutrophils that becomes exposed on the outside of the cell upon apoptosis,was identified by affinity purification,mass-spectrometry and western blotting as a novel binding molecule for SP-A and *** confirm its role in recognition,it was shown that purified immobilised mPO binds SP-A and SP-D,and that mPO is surface-exposed on late apoptotic ***-A and SP-D inhibit binding of an anti-mPO monoclonal Ab to late apoptotic *** microscopy confirmed that anti-mPO mAb and SP-A/SP-D colocalise on late apoptotic *** was identified as a further potential ligand for SP-A,and neutrophil defensin as a target for both proteins.

A classical function of Clq is to bind immune complexes and initiate complement activation producing membrane lytic complexes, opsonins and anaphylatoxins. This classical pathway of complement activation is also elicited when Clq binds some other ligands. besides complement activation, Clq also regulates cell differentiation, adhesion, migration, activation and survival. Clq deficiency is associated with autoimmunity as well as increased susceptibility to infections. Rechargeable aluminum batteries(RAbs)have attracted great interest as one of the most promising candidates for large-scale energy storage because of their high volumetric capacity,low cost,high safety and the abundance of ***,compared with the aluminum anodes,the cathode materials face more problems including low specific capacity,relatively sluggish kinetics in most host structures and/or limited cycle lifespan,which pose the major challenge for RAbs in further practical *** the past years,intensive efforts have been devoted to developing new cathode materials and/or designing engineered nanostructures to greatly improve RAbs’electrochemical *** addition to nanotechnologybased electrode structure designs,the intrinsic chemical structures and charge storage mechanisms of cathode materials play an equally crucial role,if not more,in revolutionizing the battery *** review,here,focuses on current understandings into the charge storage mechanisms of cathode materials in RAbs from a chemical reaction point of ***,the fundamental chemistry,charge storage mechanisms and design principles of RAb cathode materials are *** on different ion charge carriers,the current cathode materials are classified into four groups,including Al^(3+)-hosting,Al Cl_(4)^(-)-hosting,Al Cl_(2)^(+)/Al Cl_(2)^(+)-hosting,and Cl^(-)-hosting cathode ***,the respective typical electrode structures,optimization strategies,electrochemical performances and charge storage mechanisms are discussed in detail to establish their chemistry-structure-property *** review on current understandings of the cathode charge storage mechanisms will lay the ground and hopefully set new directions into the rational design of high-performance cathode materials in RAbs,and open up new opportunities for designing new electrolyte systems with respect to the targeted cathode systems.

Epidemiology of ovarian cancer:a review

Ovarian cancer(OC) is the seventh most commonly diagnosed cancer among women in the world and the tenth most common in China. Epithelial OC is the most predominant pathologic subtype, with five major histotypes that differ in origination,pathogenesis, molecular alterations, risk factors, and prognosis. Genetic susceptibility is manifested by rare inherited mutations with high to moderate penetrance. Genome-wide association studies have additionally identified 29 common susceptibility alleles for OC, including 14 subtype-specific alleles. Several reproductive and hormonal factors may lower risk, including parity, oral contraceptive use, and lactation, while others such as older age at menopause and hormone replacement therapy confer increased risks. These associations differ by histotype, especially for mucinous OC, likely reflecting differences in etiology. Endometrioid and clear cell OC share a similar, unique pattern of associations with increased risks among women with endometriosis and decreased risks associated with tubal ligation. OC risks associated with other gynecological conditions and procedures, such as hysterectomy,pelvic inflammatory disease, and polycystic ovarian syndrome, are less clear. Other possible risk factors include environmental and lifestyle factors such as asbestos and talc powder exposures, and cigarette smoking. The epidemiology provides clues on etiology,primary prevention, early detection, and possibly even therapeutic strategies.

Peripheral nerve injury impairs motor, sensory, and autonomic function, incurring substantial financial costs and diminished quality of life. For large nerve gaps, proximal lesions, or chronic nerve injury, the prognosis for recovery is particularly poor, even with autografts, the current gold standard for treating small to moderate nerve gaps. In vivo elongation of intact proximal stumps towards the injured distal stumps of severed peripheral nerves may offer a promising new strategy to treat nerve injury. This review describes several nerve lengthening strategies, including a novel internal fixator device that enables rapid and distal reconnection of proximal and distal nerve stumps.
