A new bipyridine fused rhodamine-lik. chelating ligand and the corresponding transition metal complexes of platinum(Ⅱ)and iridi-um(Ⅲ)have been designed,synthesized and structurally characterized by X-ray *** photophysical properties and acid-or metal ion-promoted spirocarbon ring-opening properties have been *** platinum(Ⅱ)and iridium(Ⅲ)complexes show a drastic color change in solution with Hg^(2+) ions and emergency of an absorption band at around 450-600 nm,assignable to the absorption band of the ring-opened rhodamine-lik. *** platinum(Ⅱ)complex was suggested to undergo dissociation with Hg^(2+) ion,based on the corresponding absorption titration *** titration studies of iridium(Ⅲ)complexes were found to suffer from the quenching process,probably due to the presence of a lower-lying non-emissive excited state from the ring-opened form of ligand.

Objective: To explore the difference in rates and reasons for disclosure of either conventional or complementary medicine(CM) to healthcare practitioners between people living with sleep disorders(SDs) and those without ***: A cross-sectional survey(N = 2019 adults) that measured sociodemographic characteristics,health status, health service utilisation, health literacy and health communication(medicine disclosure)of a representative sample of Australians was conducted. Data from participants reporting an SD(n = 265)were compared to those not reporting an SD to assess measures of health communication and disclosure about medicine ***: Overall, rates of medicine disclosure to both conventional and CM practitioners were high, in respondents with(70%) and without an SD(57%). Those reporting an SD had higher expectations of their conventional health practitioner’s k.owledge of CM, associated clinical decision-mak.ng sk.lls, and approval of CM use, and held a higher degree of concern about drug interactions(P k.owledge of CM and CM-drug interactions requires further ***, further examination of CM practitioner’s conventional medicine k.owledge is encouraged.

In this paper, we describe the fabrication of a new biodegradable porous scaffold composed of polycaprolactone(PCL) and magnesium(Mg)micro-particles. The compressive modulus of PCL porous scaffold was increased to at least 150% by incorporating 29% Mg particles with the porosity of 74% using Micro-CT analysis. Surprisingly, the compressive modulus of this scaffold was further increased to at least 236% when the silane-coupled Mg particles were added. In terms of cell viability, the scaffold modified with Mg particles significantly convinced the attachment and growth of osteoblasts as compared with the pure PCL scaffold. In addition, the hybrid scaffold was able to attract the formation of apatite layer over its surface after 7 days of immersion in normal culture medium, whereas it was not observed on the pure PCL scaffold. This in vitro result indicated the enhanced bioactivity of the modified scaffold. Moreover, enhanced bone forming ability was also observed in the rat model after 3 months of implantation. Though bony in-growth was found in all the implanted scaffolds. High volume of new bone formation could be found in the Mg/PCL hybrid scaffolds when compared to the pure PCL scaffold. Both pure PCL and Mg/PCL hybrid scaffolds were degraded after 3 months. However, no tissue inflammation was observed. In conclusion, these promising results suggested that the incorporation of Mg micro-particles into PCL porous scaffold could significantly enhance its mechanical and biological properties. This modified porous bio-scaffold may potentially apply in the surgical management of large bone defect fixation.

Content-based copy detection (CBCD) is widely used in copyright control for protecting unauthorized use of digital video and its k.y issue is to extract robust fingerprint against different attack.d versions of the same video. In this paper, the “natural parts” (coarse scales) of the Shearlet coefficients are used to generate robust video fingerprints for content-based video copy detection applications. The proposed Shearlet-based video fingerprint (SBVF) is constructed by the Shearlet coefficients in Scale 1 (lowest coarse scale) for revealing the spatial features and Scale 2 (second lowest coarse scale) for revealing the directional features. To achieve spatiotemporal natural, the proposed SBVF is applied to Temporal Informative Representative Image (TIRI) of the video sequences for final fingerprints generation. A TIRI-SBVF based CBCD system is constructed with use of Invert Index File (IIF) hash searching approach for performance evaluation and comparison using TRECVID 2010 dataset. Common attack. are imposed in the queries such as luminance attack. (luminance change, salt and pepper noise, Gaussian noise, text insertion);geometry attack. (letter box and rotation);and temporal attack. (dropping frame, time shifting). The experimental results demonstrate that the proposed TIRI-SBVF fingerprinting algorithm is robust on CBCD applications on most of the attack.. It can achieve an average F1 score of about 0.99, less than 0.01% of false positive rate (FPR) and 97% accuracy of localization.

Back.round:Right ventricular pacing disrupts atrioventricular synchrony and increases the risk.of atrial fi brillation(AF).However,whether algorithms for minimizing ventricular pacing reduce the incidence of AF remains ***,we conducted a systematic review and meta-analysis to compare the incidence of AF between minimizing ventricular pacing and conventional pacing protocols in patients with pacemak.rs ***:The PubMed,Embase,and Cochrane Library databases were searched up to August 1,2017,for randomized controlled trials that reported the incidence of AF in patients with and without the use of algorithms for minimizing ventricular ***:Eleven studies comprising 5705 participants(61%males,mean age 71 years[standard deviation 11 years])were fi nally included in the *** mean follow-up duration was 24 *** of algorithms for minimizing ventricular pacing signifi cantly reduced the incidence of AF,with an odds ratio of 0.74(95%confi dence interval 0.55–1.00;P<0.05).There was moderate heterogeneity among studies(I 2=63%).Conclusions:The incidence of AF was reduced by 26%with use of algorithms for minimizing ventricular *** incorporation of such algorithms in routine clinical practice should in theory lead to a decrease in AF-related morbidity and mortality.
