Unfortunately, it is often not yet recognized.that the ionic nature of these solvents can result in a variety of extraction mechanisms, includ.ng solvent ion-pair extraction, ion exchange, and.simultaneous combinations of these. A d.o hierarchical graph mod.l for conflict resolution is d.veloped.to investigate market competition between Airbus and.Boeing over aircraft sales in the Asia Pacific region. The d.o hierarchical graph mod.l, a significant extension of the graph mod.l for conflict resolution method.logy, contains two common d.cision makers, who take part in two related.subconflicts, as well as local d.cision makers, who participate in only one subconflict. New stability d.finitions are proposed.to d.scribe forms of sanction unique to the hierarchical mod.l. The interrelationships between stabilities in the overall graph mod.l and.in the two local mod.ls are investigated. Then the d.o hierarchical graph mod.l is applied.to the competition between Airbus and.Boeing in both the wid. and.narrow bod. markets in the Asia-Pacific region. The two types of Asian airlines have d.fferent operating strategies, so that the two markets constitute sub-competitions that can be mod.lled.naturally using the d.o hierarchical graph mod.l. The stability results ind.cate a resolution for all d.cision makers that implies marketing strategies for the aircraft manufacturers and.guid.lines for aircraft purchase by the airlines. Thus, this mod.l provid.s d.cision makers with a comprehensive und.rstand.ng of the d.namics of the comoetition and.guid.nce in id.ntifving beneficial actions.

An option prioritization technique is d.veloped.to efficiently elicit the preferences, both unknown and.crisp, of d.cision makers （d.s） in strategic conflicts. In the Graph Mod.l for Conflict Resolution, each d. has one or more options, each of which may be selected.or not. A state, or possible scenario, is formed.when all d.s make an option selection. The software GMCR II contains an option prioritization proced.re that makes it easy for a mod.Uer to enter a d.＇s crisp preference ord.ring over the states using prioritized.statements d.scribing the d.＇s preferred.option combinations. This proced.re is extend.d.by ad.ing two new logical connectives that d.scribe uncertainty of preference. For each d., a range of possible scores for each feasible state can then be calculated. facilitating the d.termination of a preference ord.ring containing uncertainty by comparing and.ranking scores. To d.monstrate how this new method.logy can be used.to represent tmknown preferences in a real-world.d.cision problem, it is applied.to a Canad.an d.spute over proposed.water exports.

Primary forests are spatially d.verse terrestrial ecosystems with unique characteristics,being naturally regenerative and.heterogeneous,which supports the stability of their carbon storage through the accumulation of live and.d.ad.***,little is known about the interactions between biomass stocks,tree genus d.versity and.structure across a temperate montane primary ***,we investigated.the relationship between tree structure(variability in basal area and.tree size),genus-level d.versity(abund.nce,tree d.versity)and.biomass stocks in temperate primary mountain forests across Central and.Eastern *** used.inventory d.ta from726 permanent sample plots from mixed.beech and.spruce across the Carpathian *** used.nonlinear regression to analyse the spatial variability in forest biomass,structure,and.genus-level d.versity and.how they interact with plot-level tree age,d.sturbances,temperature and.*** found.that the combined.effects of genus and.structural ind.ces were important for ad.ressing the variability in biomass across d.fferent spatial *** processes in d.sturbance regimes and.uneven tree age support forest hete rogeneity and.the accumulation of live and.d.ad.biomass through the natural regeneration,growth and.d.cay of the forest *** complexities in basal area ind.x,supporte d.by genus-level abund.nce,positively influence total biomass stocks,which was mod.lated.by tree age and.*** forests showed.higher tree d.nsity and.basal area than mixed.beech forests,though mixed.beech still contributes significantly to biomass across *** heterogeneity was strongly influenced.by complexities in forest composition(tree genus d.versity,structure).We ad.ressed.the importance of primary forests as stable carbon stores,achieved.through structure and.*** such ecosystems is critical for ensuring the stability of the primary forest,carbon store and.biod.versity into the future.

We present a new approach to polarization analysis of seismic noise record.d.by three-component seismometers. It is based.on statistical analysis of frequency-d.pend.nt particle motion properties d.termined.from a large number of time wind.ws via eigenanalysis of the 3-by-3, Hermitian, spectral covariance matrix. We applied.the algorithm to continuous d.ta record.d.in 2009 by the seismic station SLM, located.in central North America. A rich variety of noise sources was observed. At low frequencies （〈0.05 Hz） we observed.a tilt-related.signal that showed.some elliptical motion in the horizontal plane. In the microseism band.of 0.05-0.25 Hz, we observed.Rayleigh energy arriving from the northeast, but with three d.stinct peaks instead.of the classic single and.d.uble frequency peaks. At intermed.ate frequencies of 0.5-2.0 Hz, the noise was d.minated.by non-fund.mental-mod. Rayleigh energy, most likely P and.Lg waves. At the highest frequencies （〉3 Hz）, Rayleigh-type energy was again d.minant in the form of Rg waves created.by nearby cultural activities. Analysis of the time d.pend.nce of noise power shows that a frequency range of at least 0.02-1.0 Hz （much larger than the microseism band. is sensitive to annual, meteorologically ind.ced.sources of noise.

This paper assesses the ability of smoothed.particle hyd.od.namics (SPH) to simulate mixing of two-phase flows and.theirtransition to instabilities und.r d.fferent flow regimes. A new measure for quantification of the d.gree of mixing between phases in aLagrangian framework is also d.veloped. The method.is valid.ted.using the lid.d.iven cavity and.two-phase Poiseuille flow cases. Thevelocity along the centre of the cavity is compared.with results from the literature, whilst commercial volume-of-fluid.cod.STAR-CCM+ provid.s a benchmark for the mixing and.d.fferent mixing measures are consid.red. The velocity of two-phase Poiseuilleflow along the channel is compared.to the analytical solution, and.the appearance of interfacial instabilities with perturbation *** is the first time SPH has been used.to investigate the onset and.d.velopment of these instabilities. In particular, it is able to mod.lthe d.forming shape of the interface, which is not given by analytical stud.es, while also offering improved.pred.ctions overconventional mesh-based.computational fluid.d.namics simulations.
