Mitophagy in acute central nervous system injuries:regulatory mechanisms and therapeutic potentials

Acute central nervous system injuries,including ischemic stro ke,intracerebral hemorrhage,subarachnoid hemorrhage,traumatic brain injury,and spinal co rd injury,are a major global health *** optimal therapies and improving the long-term neurological functions of patients with acute central nervous system injuries are urgent *** are susceptible to damage after acute central nervous system injury,and this leads to the release of toxic levels of reactive oxygen species,which induce cell ***,a selective form of autophagy,is crucial in eliminating redundant or damaged mitochondria during these *** evidence has highlighted the significant role of mitophagy in acute central nervous system *** this review,we provide a comprehensive overview of the process,classification,and related mechanisms of *** also highlight the recent developments in research into the role of mitophagy in various acute central nervous system injuries and drug therapies that regulate *** the final section of this review,we emphasize the potential for treating these disorders by focusing on mitophagy and suggest future research paths in this area.

Poststro ke cognitive impairment is a major secondary effect of ischemic stroke in many patients;however,few options are available for the early diagnosis and treatment of this *** aims of this study were to(1)determine the specific relationship between hypoxic andα-synuclein during the occur of poststroke cognitive impairment and(2)assess whether the serum phosphorylatedα-synuclein level can be used as a biomarker for poststro ke cognitive *** found that the phosphorylatedα-synuclein level was significantly increased and showed pathological aggregation around the cerebral infa rct area in a mouse model of ischemic *** addition,neuronalα-synuclein phosphorylation and aggregation were observed in the brain tissue of mice subjected to chronic hypoxia,suggesting that hypoxia is the underlying cause ofα-synuclein-mediated pathology in the brains of mice with ischemic *** phosphorylatedα-synuclein levels in patients with ischemic stroke were significantly lower than those in healt hy subjects,and were positively correlated with cognition levels in patients with ischemic ***,a decrease in serum high-density lipoprotein levels in stroke patie nts was significantly correlated with a decrease in phosphorylatedα-synuclein *** ischemic stroke mice did not show significant cognitive impairment or disrupted lipid metabolism 14 days after injury,some of them exhibited decreased cognitive function and reduced phosphorylatedα-synuclein *** together,our results suggest that serum phosphorylatedα-synuclein is a potential biomarker for poststroke cognitive impairment.

As a fundamental fluid-structure interaction(FSI)phenomenon,vortex-induced vibrations(VIVs)of circular cylinders have been the center of the FSI research in the past several *** from its scientific significance in rich physics,VIVs are paid great attentions by offshore engineers,as they are encountered in many ocean engineering ***,with the development of research and application,wake-induced vibration(WIV)for multiple cylinders and galloping for VIV suppression attachments are attracting a growing research *** these phenomena are connected with the flow-induced vibration(FIV).In this paper,we review and give some discussions on the FIV of offshore circular cylinders,including the research progress on the basic VIV mechanism of an isolated rigid or flexible cylinder,interference of multiple cylinders concerning WIV of multiple cylinders,practical VIV suppression and unwanted galloping for cylinder of ***,we draw concluding remarks,give some comments and propose future research prospects,especially on the major challenges as well as potentials in the offline/online modelling and prediction of real-scale offshore structures with high-fidelity CFD methods,new experimental facilities and applications of artificial intelligence tools.

A novel dependency language model for information retrieval

This paper explores the application of term dependency in information retrieval (IR) and proposes a novel dependency retrieval model. This retrieval model suggests an extension to the existing language modeling (LM) approach to IR by introducing dependency models for both query and document. Relevance between document and query is then evaluated by reference to the Kullback-Leibler divergence between their dependency models. This paper introduces a novel hybrid dependency structure, which allows integration of various forms of dependency within a single framework. A pseudo relevance feedback based method is also introduced for constructing query dependency model. The basic idea is to use query-relevant top-ranking sentences extracted from the top documents at retrieval time as the augmented representation of query, from which the relationships between query terms are identified. A Markov Random Field (MRF) based approach is presented to ensure the relevance of the extracted sentences, which utilizes the association features between query terms within a sentence to evaluate the relevance of each sentence. This dependency retrieval model was compared with other traditional retrieval models. Experiments indicated that it produces significant improvements in retrieval effectiveness.

Electric and thermo spin transfer torques in Fe/Vacuum/Fe tunnel junction

We present first-principle calculations of electric and thermo spin transfer torques （STT） in Fe/Vacuum（Vac）/Fe magnetic tunnel junctions （MTJs）. Our quantitative studies demonstrate rich bias dependence of STT and tunnel inagneto resistance （TMR） behaviors with respect to the interface roughness. Thermoelectric effects in Fe/Vac/Fe MTJs is remarkable. We observe larger ZT of 6.2 in 8 ML clean Vacuum barrier, where responsible for. Thermo-STT in Fe/Vac/Fe with similar barrier thickness. the heavily restraitmd thermal conductance should be MTJs show same order as that in Fe/MgO/Fe MTJs with similar barrier thickness.

Large Time Behavior of Solutions to a 3D keller-Segel-Stokes System Involving a Tensor-valued Sensitivity with Saturation

In this paper we deal with the initial-boundary value problem for the coupled keller-Segel-Stokes system with rotational flux, which is corresponding to the case that the chemical is produced instead of consumed,■subject to the boundary conditions( n-n S(x, n, c) c) · ν = c · ν = 0 and u = 0, and suitably regular initial data(n0(x), c0(x), u0(x)), where ? ? R3is a bounded domain with smooth boundary ??. Here S is a chemotactic sensitivity satisfying |S(x, n, c)| ≤ CS(1 + n)-αwith some CS> 0 and α > 0. The greatest contribution of this paper is to consider the large time behavior of solutions for the system(KSS), which is still open even in the 2D case. We can prove that the corresponding solution of the system(KSS) decays to(■) exponentially, if the coefficient of chemotactic sensitivity is appropriately small. As a precondition to consider the asymptotic behavior, we also show the global existence and boundedness of the corresponding initial-boundary problem KSS with a simplified method. We find a new phenomenon that the suitably small coefficient CSof chemotactic sensitivity could benefit the global existence and boundedness of solutions to the model KSS.

Synaptic remodeling in mouse motor cortex after spinal cord injury

Spinal cord injury dramatically blocks information exchange between the central nervous system and the peripheral nervous *** resulting fate of synapses in the motor cortex has not been well *** explore synaptic reorganization in the motor cortex after spinal cord injury,we established mouse models of T12 spinal cord hemi-section and then monitored the postsynaptic dendritic spines and presynaptic axonal boutons of pyramidal neurons in the hindlimb area of the motor cortex in *** results showed that spinal cord hemisection led to the remodeling of dendritic spines bilaterally in the motor cortex and the main remodeling regions changed over *** made previously stable spines unstable and eliminated spines more unlikely to be *** was a significant increase in new spines in the contralateral motor ***,the low survival rate of the new spines demonstrated that new spines were still *** of presynaptic axonal boutons found no significant *** results suggest the existence of synapse remodeling in motor cortex after spinal cord hemi-section and that spinal cord hemi-section affected postsynaptic dendritic spines rather than presynaptic axonal *** study was approved by the Ethics Committee of Chinese PLA General Hospital,China(approval No.201504168S)on April 16,2015.

The hypersonic vehicle model is characterized by strong coupling,nonlinearity,and acute changes of aerodynamic parameters,which are challenging for control system *** study investigates a novel compound control scheme that combines the advantages of the Fractional-Order Proportional-Integral-Derivative(FOPID)controller and Linear Active Disturbance Rejection Control(LADRC)for reentry flight control of hypersonic vehicles with actuator ***,given that the controller has adjustable parameters,the frequency-domain analysis-method-based parameter tuning strategy is utilized for the FOPID controller and LADRC method(FOLADRC).Then,the influences of the actuator model on the anti-disturbance capability and parameter tuning of the FOLADRC-based closed-loop control system are ***,the simulation results indicate that the proposed FOLADRC approach has satisfactory performance in terms of rapidity,accuracy,and robustness under the normal operating condition and actuator fault condition.

Prediction of Seasonal Tropical Cyclone Activity in the NUIST-CFS1.0 Forecast System

Prediction skill for the seasonal tropical cyclone(TC)activity in the Northern Hemisphere is investigated using the coupled climate forecast system(version 1.0)of Nanjing University of Information Science and Technology(NUISTCFS1.0).This assessment is based on the seven-month(May to November)hindcasts consisting of nine ensemble members during 1982–*** predictions are compared with the Japanese 55-year Reanalysis and observed tropical storms in the Northern *** results show that the overall distributions of the TC genesis and track densities in model hindcasts agree well with the observations,although the seasonal mean TC frequency and accumulated cyclone energy(ACE)are underestimated in all basins due to the low resolution(T106)of the atmospheric component in the ***-CFS1.0 closely predicts the interannual variations of TC frequency and ACE in the North Atlantic(NA)and eastern North Pacific(ENP),which have a good relationship with indexes based on the sea surface *** the western North Pacific(WNP),NUIST-CFS1.0 can closely capture ACE,which is significantly correlated with the El Ni?o–Southern Oscillation(ENSO),while it has difficulty forecasting the interannual variation of TC frequency in this *** the WNP is further divided into eastern and western subregions,the model displays improved TC activity forecasting ***,it is found that biases in predicted TC genesis locations lead to inaccurately represented TC–environment relationships,which may affect the capability of the model in reproducing the interannual variations of TC activity.
