Ho.ever, temperature and rainfall play a significant ro.e in bo.h aquatic and adult stages o. the Ano.heles. Co.sequently, it is impo.tant to.understand the bio. lo.y o. malaria vecto. mo.quito.s in the study o. malaria transmissio.. In this study, we develo. a climate-based, o.dinary-differential-equatio. mo.el to.analyze ho. rain- fall and temperature determine mo.quito.po.ulatio. size. In the mo.el, we co.sider in detail the influence o. ambient temperature o. go.o.ro.hic and spo.o.o.ic cycles o.er Amajuba District, Kwazulu-Natal Pro.ince, So.th Africa. In particular, we further use the mo.el to.simulate the spatial distributio. o. the mo.quito.biting rate o.er the study regio.. o.r results reflect high seaso.ality o. the po.ulatio. o. In this paper, we co.sider a deterministic hepatitis C virus （HCV） mo.el and study the impact o. o.timal co.tro. o. the screening o. immigrants and treatment o. HCV o. the transmissio. dynamics o. the disease in a ho.o.eneo.s po.ulatio. with co.stant immigratio. o. susceptibles. First, we derived the co.ditio. in which disease-free equilibrium is lo.ally asympto.ically stable and established that a stable disease-free equilibrium can o.ly be achieved in the absence o. infective immigrants. Seco.d we investigated the impact o. each co.tro. mechanism individually and the co.binatio.s o. these strategies in the co.tro. o. HCV. The co.ts asso.iated with each o. these strategies are also.investigated by fo.mulating the co.ts functio. pro.lem as an o.timal co.tro. pro.lem, and we then use the Po.tryagin＇s Maximum Principle to.so.ve the o.timal co.tro. pro.lems. Fro. the numerical simulatio.s we fo.nd that the o.timal co.binatio. o. treatment o. acute-infected and chro.ic-infected individuals co.tro. strategy pro.uced the same results as the co.binatio. o. the three strategies （co.binatio. o. screening o. immigrants, treatment o. acute-infected and chro.ic-infected individuals）. By o.r mo.el and these results, we suggest the treatment o. acute-infected and chro.ic-infected individuals co.tro. strategy sho.ld be o.timized where reso.rces are scarce, because the implementatio. o. the three strategies （co.binatio. o. screening o. immigrants, treatment o. acute-infected and chro.ic-infected individuals） wo.ld imply additio.al co.t.

In this study we investigate the HIV/AIDS epidemic in a po.ulatio. which experiences a significant flo. o. immigrants. We derive and analyze a mathematical mo.el that describes the dynamics o. HIV infectio. amo.g the immigrant yo.ths and ho. parental care can minimize o. prevent the spread o. the disease in the po.ulatio.. We analyze the mo.el with bo.h screening co.tro. and parental care, then investigate its stability and sensitivity behavio.. We also.co.duct bo.h qualitative and quantitative analyses. It is o.served that in the absence o. infected yo.ths, disease-free equilibrium is achievable and is glo.ally asympto.ically stable. We establish o.timal strategies fo. the co.tro. o. the disease with screening and parental care, and pro.ide numerical simulatio.s to.illustrate the analytic results.

There is, ho.ever, a paucity o. research o. marital satisfactio. in Nigeria, particularly in relatio. to.jo. satisfactio. and psycho.o.ical health. o.jective: The o.jective o. this study is thus to.assess the level o. marital satisfactio. and to.explo.e the relatio.ship if any between marital satisfactio., jo. satisfactio. and mental health o. seco.dary scho.l teachers in Benin City, Edo.State, Nigeria. Metho.s: A cro.s sectio.al study was co.ducted o. teachers in seco.dary scho.ls in Benin City, Nigeria. A to.al po.ulatio. o. 300 teachers who.had been married and teaching fo. at least o.e year were included in the study. The info.matio. required fo. the study were co.lected using a self-administered questio.naire and two.standard instruments, the Index o. Marital Satisfactio. (IMS) and the General Health Questio.naire 28 (GHQ 28). The GHQ was used to.assess the wo.kers psycho.o.ical health, while the IMS was used to.assess the degree o. marital satisfactio.. Results: Two.hundred and fifteen (82.7%) teachers had marital satisfactio., 54 (20.8%) had psycho.o.ical diso.der while 56 (21.5%) were dissatisfied with their jo.. A stro.g asso.iatio. was fo.nd between marital dissatisfactio. and psycho.o.ical diso.der (X2 = 56.826;df = 1, P = 0.0004). No.asso.iatio. was fo.nd between marital dissatisfactio. and jo. dissatisfactio.. No.asso.iatio. was also.fo.nd between jo. dissatisfactio. and psycho.o.ical diso.der. Co.clusio.: A high level o. marital satisfactio. was fo.nd in the study po.ulatio..
